Family-friendly vacation rentals in Pulaski County

This is the second time that we have stayed with Donnie. The first time was in one of the cabooses. This time we stayed in The Depot. Both of these places were as described and pictured! I had good enough phone service that we did not miss having WiFi and there was cable for television. I had two children with me, an eight year old and a twelve year old, and they were both fine there! And we could look out the front door and see Buffalo Mountain. Because of Hurricane Helene damage, we did not get to go there but it was not for lack of trying! Sunday morning before we left, I got to see a deer in the pasture behind the depot! And some beautiful sunrises!

I had the most wonderful stay at Bliss Cabin, to say the least. From the initial photos of the writing desk and yoga deck, to the curious graveled path winding around the property lined with life and decorative details, I was totally immersed in the love and care that was so palpably present! Kathryn & Luke were absolutely lovely, so helpful, and incredibly accommodating! My recommendations while on the property: build and tend to a fire. Journal at the writing desk while playing Miles Davis. Take an early cold plunge in the river, do a round of Wim Hof breathing, then run up to take a hot shower at their beautiful abode. Chat with Luke, have tea with Kathryn. Do yoga on the deck. Say hello to the frogs. Express your inner musician with their drums and sound bowls. Let your soul free here!

Beautiful location, place as described. Jacuzzi was great. Lots of hot water. Good water pressure, good shower. Bed was comfortable. Donnie was helpful and responsive.

We wanted to do something unique & different for our anniversary & this did NOT disappoint. From the “main” road you can see the 3 red cabooses up on the hill & our hearts smiled. They recently had storms & we could see where the flood waters deteriorated the sides of the driveway but it was still wide enough for us to pass another small vehicle if needed. Office Check in was a breeze and took less than five mins before we were standing in our getaway train(caboose) which is on a real track! We were the only ones staying this weekend but if others were present, there was plenty of room. Our furbabies throughly enjoyed having a large field in front of the cabooses to run in. The views from the swings were breathtaking especially during the sunsets. Once Inside, we enjoyed the comforts of home (except for a stove). The hotness of the water & the relaxing hot tub added to our experience. Some things were dated but that is to come with the territory. We hope to visit again in the fall.

May be one of my favorite mountain stays I’ve had! Definitely will be back!

We not only enjoyed the lake, boating, kayaking, hot tubbing and all we needed to have s'mores in your fire pit by the river, but really enjoyed meeting and getting to know you as well. Anahata was the perfect place for our family reunion! I hope to find another reason to have a gathering here. There are spectacular places to walk and explore out side. Inside and around the house on decks and porches are great gathering spots for small and large groups. Our family of 12 could all sleep comfortably with beautiful private accommodation. Our day visitors of 10 or so people enjoyed the beautiful house and grounds. One of the best Airbnb’s I’ve experienced and I’ve been to a lot. The owners were great communicators and took care of everything!

The place was beautiful and private with great views and not too far away. Linda & Michael were wonderful. They were very nice, helpful and ready to meet any need to make our stay relaxing and memorable. We look forward to going back in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful mountain house. The views are amazing, and Berit did a great job giving very clear instructions on how to navigate the mountain on the way up. She made sure ahead of time that we had vehicles suitable for the drive which was very appreciated. She checked in with us throughout the weekend just to make sure there was nothing we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked, plenty of towels/blankets available, and overall was just a wonderful stay. There is a winery, Chateau Morrisette, which was only about 15 minutes away that was really fun to visit, and Floyd is a very cute, friendly town. I would definitely stay here again. We had a wonderful time at the cabin, it was nice to have a peaceful place to relax and I loved sitting on the screen porch and just watching the trees sway. We did have a critter in the old chimney but it was immediately taken care of after I let Barbara know. It is definitely in the woods so bugs and animals will be seen more often, as long as you are fine with that then this is a super fun place. Absolutely amazing host that took care of anything we needed as well. Do yourself a favor and walk to the waterfall a few streets over. It was gorgeous and so fun to splash through the water even if it is ice cold!

This was the perfect location for moving a VT student in or out of their housing on campus. The home has a large garage to keep a packed car, and the home itself is very clean and comfortable. There are a bunch of stairs however to get into the home and up to the second bedroom so that might be something to consider if you have difficulty with stairs or are bringing in heavy luggage. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean and spacious, very close to downtown floyd

We were in town for my sons college graduation. The house was amazing and the surroundings were gorgeous. Angela was so receptive and made sure we felt at home. Thank you for a perfect experience. We will definitely stay here again.

Warren's place was great - very cozy, clean, & comfortable! Communication was good with the host & check-in was easy with a keypad. Only issue we had was that it was a little tricky to find. Warren sent directions, but the road is easy to overlook & we missed it the first time around!

If only we could give the location 12 stars! We know the Dan River, so we expected the fishing to be good and the weather to be lovely, but we also know Kibler Valley just up the river, so we also expected holiday crowds. We couldn’t have been more wrong. Estelle’s place was quiet and peaceful the whole of Memorial Day weekend. The house was well built and well furnished for large groups. The kitchen was large enough to cook for eight and the dining table large enough to seat us all together. We spent hours enjoying each other’s company on the scenic front porch and strolling the path by the river. I could go on. Let it suffice to say we had a terrific weekend and look forward to visiting again.

Joe's Place was a great place to spend the weekend in Blacksburg. Joe was very responsive, example-we got there a bit early and Joe generously let us in. Electronic keypad on door made coming and going very easy. It was well appointed, with enough kitchen items, clean linens and towels. Furniture and beds were comfortable. It was not cluttered but decorated in fun VT Hokie football items-a true fan would enjoy. Definitely a great place for a guys sports weekend, especially being on that side of town with a short drive to the stadiums. Thank you Joe!

The hosts are great! The property was a perfect fit for us. Floyd is a fun little town with some great restaurants. It’s easy to get to some beautiful hikes and to Blacksburg.

We just returned from another wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin. This was our fourth stay at Cathy's cabin, and it never disappoints. The cabin is very clean, comfortable, and well laid out, and the view out over the valley below is stunning. We have never had any problems or complaints, which is why we have made it our favorite spot to stay when up in the Blue Ridge area. We will be going back.

Very nice. Antiques. Front porch with swing, loveseat, table & chairs. Enjoyed several meals on front porch. House well supplied with pillows, blankets & towels. We cooked our meals onsite. Kitchen had dishes, pans, utensils, spices, everything we needed to prepare the food we brought in. Very peaceful. Beautiful. We plan to to be return guests. Recommending to others. Enjoyable stay. We had a wonderful stay in Christiansburg visiting our son at Tech. It was a perfect location with a quiet community and cozy, comfortable home while still being close to campus. The home was very clean and had plenty of space for all of us to feel like we could spread out a bit. Mary was very helpful, friendly and responsive. Over the course of just a few days, the silo is now easily one of my favorite vacation locations! The space is entirely unique - crafted from an existing silo into a livable space; tranquil, peaceful - every relaxing synonym you can think of encapsulates this space. Karen is an extremely accommodating and friendly host - she goes above and beyond to ensure you have a perfect stay. An added bonus if there are other guests staying in her other accommodations. I loved all of the interactions! The stay at the silo was simply the perfect weekend that I will forever cherish.
