LA CASA DI TUFO is a unique medieval palazzo that was built in the 5th century where you can experience the atmosphere of the past yet have all the modern comforts of today. Each room has marvelous views of a private garden and of the medieval part of town. There is a radio in every room as well as private bath with massaging showers and foot massage. There are stone arches, original wooden ceilings and other medieval architectural elements as well as TV and exceptional WIFI access in the living room. The breakfast is a mix of Italian (pastry and cappuccino) and continental (bread, cheese, yogurt, granola, and fruit). The house is in the center of Orvieto within a few minutes walking distance to all the famous sights, including the grand Duomo (cathedral) with its famous frescoes of Signorelli, multiple museums, the underground caves, monuments, Etruscan ruins, the famous well of St. Patrick (Pozzo di San Patrizio) as well as many others. If you like archeological places we can organize a guided tour to some Etruscan cemeteries or to the caves of the famous “Fanum Voltumnae,” the most important spiritual Etruscan place, which was discovered in Orvieto after excavations of more than 50 years. If you want to relax after a morning of walking you can go to the hot water springs in the surrounding countryside of Orvieto (35 minutes by car). After that we can recommend to you a typical local restaurant where you can eat pasta like your grandmother used to make. We can also book a guided tour to a local Umbrian vineyard for you to enjoy wine tastings. Within Orvieto’s historic center there are many charming intimate restaurants where you can experience delicious authentic Umbrian cuisine which often includes truffles, porcini mushrooms, fresh vegetables, new olive oil and a terrific selection of wines from Umbria and Tuscany. The owner of LA CASA DI TUFO has a truffle dog and if you want she can show you the dog finding truffles in the woods. If you completely fall in love with Italy and want to stay for a longer visit, you can also learn Italian cooking at a nearby cooking school.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl bei Danilo und seiner Frau gefühlt. Die beiden sind sehr herzlich und man hat das Gefühl Familie zu besuchen. Die Unterkunft ist auch super und wir fanden es sehr schade, dass wir hier nur eine Nacht als Zwischenstopp eingeplant haben und nicht länger geblieben sind. Wir werden sicherlich nochmal den schönen Ort Orvieto besuchen und wir wären ganz schön blöd, wenn wir dann nicht wieder bei Danilo und seiner Frau übernachten würden :-) vielen Dank!

Siamo stati benissimo al casolare di Chiara, situato in mezzo al verde ed alla tranquillità con una bella vista su questa incantevole regione. Chiara è stata veramente molto disponibile e gentile; oltre alle dettagliate informazioni su Narni e regione si è adoperata nel prepararci una straordinaria crostata vegana, venendo incontro di gran cuore alle nostre esigenze alimentari; e sì, come già hanno scritto in diversi la colazione è stata veramente meravigliosa Fermandoci un po' a parlare abbiamo scoperto una persona molto in gamba, alla quale vogliamo esprimere la nostra gratitudine ed augurare ogni bene. Inoltre la pulizia della casa, la puntualità e la comunicazione sono state ottime. Visto che vorremmo ritornare in zona ci piacerebbe molto poter ritornare da Chiara. Grazie mille

La casa è in pieno centro, a poca distanza da Civita, molto comoda per fare la passeggiata a piedi fino alla città fantasma. Grazie Sandra per la bellissima atmosfera, per l'accoglienza, e per l'abbondante colazione con tutto preparato a casa, abbiamo apprezzato tantissimo!

Great quiet place with great owners and good dog. Its very quiet so I slept like a stone at the bottom of the lake. Breakfast was local and very tasty. Owners are great to talk to and very friendly. I had just a stopover there but felt really nice welcomed.

This was the perfect location for exploring one of the most beautiful areas of Italy. Pierluigi could not have been a better host. The place is perfect. Super clean place, stunning rural views, fresh baked pastries and home made bread for breakfast along with delicious local cheese and hams. Lots of space I’m the room, well equipped bathroom and amazing AC which given the temperature outside was a God Send! Beautiful towns and villages near by. Can’t recommend enough.

Abbiamo passato solo una notte ma saremmo rimasti volentieri di più, siamo stati accolti benissimo con i nostri due cani di taglia medio/grande, avevano tutto lo spazio che volevano per girare liberi, per colpa nostra non abbiamo fatto la cena ma sicuramente torneremo per assaggiare le fettuccine al cinghiale o al tartufo che ci avrebbero preparato.... la camera è bella e accogliente e ha una cucina a disposizione che noi abbiamo utilizzato, alla mattina per colazione abbiamo trovato delle deliziose torte fatte in casa. Posizione ottima proprio lungo il cammino dei borghi silenti ... ci torneremo alla prima occasione grazie Franco e Romedia
