We had a lovely stay celebrating a friend's birthday. One suggestion would be to equip the kitchen with a few more platters and larger serving bowls to enable cooking and serving larger groups of people. Also perhaps some lamps in the lounge to create more ambience. It was either very bright lights while eating at the dining table / sitting in the lounge or in the dark with just the kitchen lights as lighting. Other than that we had a lovely stay and highly recommend your establishment for a comfortable stay for large families.

Definitely great value for money ... As neat as a pin! Extremely clean. Don't be chased away by the lower price compared to others ... This one offers value for money ... Definitely will visit again.

Delicious gebly

This was one of the best places we have stayed at hands down, so much more than we expected. Nice and secluded but yet close to everything. Beautiful cottage and wonderful people. The breakfast that was included was also a nice surprise. Beautiful pool that the kids love. We rested well. Definitely recommend.

We had a very comfortable stay here. The room is beautifully laid out and decorated with lots of attention to detail, including a little bottle of sherry to warm us up on a chilly evening. 😊The location is perfect for a stroll around the block and easy access to some excellent restaurants. The staff are warm and welcoming. Altogether a highly recommended guest house.

We had a wonderful stay! Amazing location, the drive itself to the guesthouse is worth staying there. Beautiful walks in the neighbourhood. Good food in evening and morning. Great place to relax. Yes! Go!

We had a one night stopover in Marie's place on our journey from Stormsriver to Paternoster. The accomodation was spacious with the usual amenities - fridge, kettle, microwave etc. We had access to the swimming pool which was lovely. Breakfast was substantial with several choices available all served to your table looking over the swimming pool. Marie arranged dinner for us in a local restaurant inc transport which we thoroughly enjoyed. All in all a very pleasant stay.

My stay at Carmen and Dario's was the highlight of my trip to South Africa. Both welcomed me very warmly, took very good care of me and provided excellent tips for my trip. I felt right at home. If you are looking for a private and individual stay away from mass tourism in a rural environment, you are in the right place here in the Straussennest. What a little gem of a spot. Did a mtb race in the area (36one mtb) and decided on Raw Karoo. They were kind to accommodate me with a late check in and the place itself was beautiful and welcoming. Everything you need in the unit and they do a great breakfast too! Hope to be back.
