My wife and her friend stayed at Rachael's place for a mom's getaway and they loved it! The space was clean, tidy, and had every needed amenity. My wife especially loved the spacious shower and the comfy king bed. The location is also superb as it is near many restaurants and shopping areas. Thank you!

Tom and Carol’s place is top-notch! It’s rare to find a getaway spot that’s both tucked away in a pristine natural setting and which contains all the modern amenities one could ask for. To top it off, Tom’s artwork and sculptures beautifully adorn the property, which makes the apartment and its location feel like there’s a little magic around every corner. Tom and Carol are fantastic hosts; we felt right at home upon arrival. The small towns nearby also had some great restaurants with a welcoming vibe and friendly folks to boot!

This was the first Airbnb where I felt comfortable enough to take off my shoes AND socks to walk around; It was absolutely spotless from the bathrooms to the living room floors. Beds were super comfortable. Tons of toys for different aged kids to play with in the bunk bed room and many extras/amenities in the kitchen. All of the kitchen appliances were clean and ready to use. We will absolutely be staying here again if we ever come back to the area!

Restored Barn - 44 Acres with 100 Acre Lake

NadiraRating, 5 stars3 days ago
FJ & Monika were wonderful hosts! They were great at accommodating us when we needed to check in a bit earlier than the usual permitted time. Their communication was great, and they were very helpful and friendly. They always made sure we had everything we could need. The barn itself is very beautiful. Everything was clean, and it was so spacious. The view was to die for. There were a lot of deer and other cute animals that stopped by- it was a very fun and welcomed surprise. They had space for a nice campfire, there’s a huge lake that they provided kayaks for, and fire places upstairs and downstairs. FJ & Monika also had a very detailed map/layout of the land, things to do, places to visit, supermarkets & stores, etc. it was a very helpful guide for our stay. Overall, we had a beautiful stay, & for sure plan to come back! This was our favorite stay we’ve ever done through AirBnb! Definitely worth every penny! We will be recommending our family & friends to come stay here! Thanks F&M!!

Margy and Teddy’s place is exactly what you want from a cabin getaway, peaceful and tucked way with beautiful nature surrounding. The proximity to Jim Thorpe and Rickett’s Glen was a huge bonus for us. Margy was a wonderful host - communicative, thoughtful, and incredibly kind. Every part of the cabin was thoughtfully decorated and felt so homey - we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area!

Coziest Creek Cabin- Idyllic, Authentic, Poconos

SteveRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Overall we really enjoyed the cabin. The location is fabulous! Devin is very responsive and on top of things. We did experience a few minor issues. There was an odd odor in the bathroom and the water also has an smell and taste so we relied on bottled water. The gas grill needs some attention. Be warned that the stairs to the loft are really, really, really steep and narrow. We did not use the loft so it was not an issue.

Just as the pictures display, this place was tranquil and made you feel at peace. Exactly what my husband and I were looking for. Looking forward to hopefully staying here again in the future. Rosalyn and Brian were responsive when we reached out and we even found a little note to us upon our arrival with some fresh muffins (DELISH!). Only suggestion i have for others, if you like to sleep in the dark, bring an eye shield :-) with the natural light coming in and the time of year you stay, the sun will wake you up and if its a full moon you may have a hard time falling asleep! We love to camp so this place was exactly what we were expecting and more. Thank you for offering such a wonderful property for others to enjoy!

Your guide to Pennsylvania

All About Pennsylvania

Traveling to Pennsylvania is often synonymous with taking in a piece of American history. It was one of the first 13 colonies, it’s where the Declaration of Independence was signed, and it’s where the Gettysburg Address was written. People from all over the U.S. make pilgrimages to the state to see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall in Philadelphia and the battlefields of Gettysburg, among other historical attractions.

But there is so much more to this state besides its history. Pennsylvania Dutch country is steeped in Amish traditions. Philadelphia, the state’s largest city, is known for its cheesecake and cheesesteak, and Pittsburg, the second largest, is home to iconic Gilded Age architectural sites. Go beyond the metropolitan hubs to explore the dramatic waterfalls and deep gorges of the Poconos, watch the stars explode across the jet-black sky at Cherry Springs State Park, or paddle along the waters of Lake Erie. Or for a completely different pace of things, you can ride a stomach-churning rollercoaster at a famous amusement park in Hershey.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Pennsylvania

Like its northeastern neighbor states, Pennsylvania benefits from a full four seasons: hot summers, autumns erupting with colorful foliage, and springs that bring the state back to life after cold, snowy winters. The best time to visit depends entirely on the kind of experience you’re looking to have: fans of skiing and snowmobiling will find plenty of mountains to explore in the Poconos, while Lake Erie is a popular destination for those looking for cabins to rent for the summer. There is plenty to see in the cities year-round, though to avoid crowds and get the best weather, early autumn or late spring are ideal times to plan a holiday here. October is generally the best month to see the beautiful fall foliage in Pennsylvania’s national and state parks.

Top things to do in Pennsylvania

Museum-hop in Philadelphia

Philadelphia may not be the state’s official capital, but it is a cultural capital. A trip here is a great way to dig into the art and history with trips to the Museum of the American Revolution, the Philadelphia Museum of Art — which houses one of the country’s most impressive collections of Impressionist and Modernist art — and the Mütter Museum, which collects medical curiosities. Just don’t forget to grab a cheesesteak between stops.

Big Pocono State Park

Big Pocono State Park is an impressive place for a hike any time of year, but there’s something especially magical about being here to see the trees turn stunning shades of red, orange, gold, purple, and brown in the fall. On a clear day, trek to the top of Camelback Mountain to see the entire tri-state area sprawled out before you, in a blanket of fiery hues.

Pennsylvania Dutch Country

Pennsylvania Dutch country is a unique cultural enclave within the state, where large communities of Amish and Mennonite people have made their homes. While here, make sure to stop at the town of Intercourse, where you can purchase beautiful artisanal items, handicrafts, and foodstuffs made by locals (tip: pick up a homemade pie for the road.)
