“This is a isolated region of Scotland that is beautiful, the lodge itself is quent- very warm and cosy and great view over the loch. Definitely a place to get away from the hussel of daily life, switch the phone off and relax. Pub next door with a good hearty menu and nice beer and wines _ good place for outdoor activities”
We live in a lovely bungalow in a quiet area with superb views over the Crinan Canal and Loch Fyne. If you are planning to work locally short term or to visit to appreciate the beautiful West Coast of Scotland, this is a good central spot. The start of the Kintyre Way is 10 miles South and the historical archaeological site of Kilmartin is 10 miles North. We are also an ideal stop over to and from the Islay Ferry Terminal which is a 30 minute drive South.
“I stayed at Moira's place for 5 weeks while I worked in the local hospital - she was the perfect host. The room was great, I was welcome to use the kitchen facilities and make myself at home. The canal and sea views from the kitchen and living room are beautiful! I would recommend staying at Moira's to any AirBnB guests exploring Lochgilphead and it's surrounding areas.”
Crows Nest is a bright airy top floor space, right on the marina, with wonderful panoramic views over the village, fishing quay, marina, Tarbert Castle and out towards Loch Fyne. There are 2 bedrooms, each of which boast Hypnos beds (one double, one king) and luxury bed linen. There in a spacious bathroom with shower. There is also a small dressing room with wardrobe, drawers and a makeup mirror. The dining kitchen is well equipped and includes a dishwasher.
“We spent the month of October at Jane's apartment and can't say enough good about it. The apartment is as described and very well equipped for cooking at home. The views were a constant pleasure, the location in the village couldn't have been better. Jane was an excellent host, left a little treat, explained everything thoroughly and even picked us up from the bus stop. And we loved Tarbert! Walked every afternoon, bought fish straight off the boat from Dougle for dinner, when we didn't get excellent meat from Richie the butcher. People were so friendly, everything we needed in Tarbert for a month without a car. I highly recommend Jane's apartment and the village of Tarbert.”
