Roeberry Farm House

RuthRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We had a lovely stay in this warm, comfortable, spacious, well equipped house. Plenty hot water and great facilities. Good wifi - which was important as some work to be done while visiting. It is a short drive into Saint Margaret’s Hope so very accessible for the Pentland ferry and a good base for exploring the rest of the island. (Although well worth having own transport). Also had an excellent meal in the Murray Arms Hotel - delicious seafood! Enjoyed our trip to Orkney. Thank you Margaret for the warm welcome 👍

Riff Cottage with sea views in Orkney

SheilaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Riff Cottage was by far the best holiday rental we have ever stayed in - quiet, warm, comfortable, spacious, clean, well equipped and tastefully decorated. There are wonderful views to the farmyard and the firth and hills beyond. Greig and Lesley were the perfect hosts, quickly responsive when we needed help, friendly when we met them around the farm but otherwise unobtrusive. The location is perfect for accessing the nearby neolithic sites and nature reserves and the shop is Finstown is a short drive away. We much appreciated the ample welcome pack. We thoroughly recommend a stay at Riff Cottage.

2-bedroom cottage situated by the sea.Congesquoy 1

AnnaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago

Khyber Cottage

KateRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Had a great stay in Clare’s wee cottage, I genuinely can’t think of how it can be improved. Is seems very freshly decorated and all the things that we needed were there including some well thought through extras e.g. extension sockets. Very comfy bed, lovely lounge area, well equipped kitchen (not that we used it much). We had accommodation envy from friends staying elsewhere! We’d definitely return if we ever get the chance, thanks very much.

Sammy was great very communicative when I had questions. He also gave clear instructions and communicated prior to me checking in. The house is an ideal location. Beautiful area. The house was very clean and comfortable and the pictures didn’t do it justice. Thanks again, Sammy for sharing your lovely home.

Brough farm

LizRating, 5 stars1 week ago
There aren’t enough words in English or Gaelic to describe how much myself and my friend/support worker LOVED .. staying @Brough Farm @ South Ronaldsay … i Love rural isolation , waterways, wild walks , seabirds and cows, stone walls and buildings ✅✅✅✅✅✅, not necessarily in that order … the capacity to self cater , with resources easily sourced from Stromness and Kirkwall , including fresh sourced fish , lamb , beef etc … have a bath after a big days walking and sleep in comfy beds , obviously adds to the bliss .. and then the cherry on the cake of our 10 night stay … was of course our timing was perfect for the Orkney Folk festival … which was sublime … Two Australians … left very sad .. from ‘our’ Orkney Island home … Mel and Graham were the bestest hosts .. and I’m deeply grateful for all of Grahams patience with sharing his farming knowledge about the darling cows and calf’s .

St Clair House, Orkney

JamesRating, 5 stars11 months ago
St Clair house in St Margaret’s hope is an absolutely splendid place to be. The secluded and sheltered back garden with outside seating and fire pit is something I plan to make at my own house following our time at Shona’s beautiful house. We are a family of 6, with four boys from 9-14. We all loved it.

Greenatang holiday cottage

Absolutely brilliant stay at Collin’s place. It was such a unique and special experience to be situated on a beautiful farm in such a remote area of the world. Collin was unbelievably accomodating - meeting us at the ferry to help find the place, surprising us with lots of local goodies and even helping us find puffins just a 5 minute walk from his place! The home its self was very comfortable and peaceful. Increidble oven, modern shower and comfy beds. Would 100% recommend for a truly special experience on Orkney.

New: Cantick Head Lighthouse Cottage

AnnaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This is a really unique stay and I spent a good part of my time there looking out at sea wondering when I would next be able to come back. So that should tell you how much I liked it! It’s at a lighthouse, so as you would expect, it’s at the end of a long road (which is very bumpy in places!). Then you get to the cosy house, with a wood fire, and well stocked kitchen with welcome treats. Alan is very friendly as are the dogs and the chickens! My child loved feeding them every morning. The fresh farm eggs were such a treat. Cantick Head itself is stunning and we loved being in the hot tub and sauna. Note to other guests- all these are wood powered so stock up on firewood before you arrive (you can buy bags at the shop next to the Lyness ferry). My mum took one of the bikes out and we all enjoyed walking the coastline. This is a special stay, don’t hesitate to book!

Had a fabulous stay, location of cabin was ideal for us. Very well equipped with everything you needed, and our host went out of the way to provide us with a cafeteria even though there was a coffee machine and pods provided . We also hired the hot tub for a small extra fee which was fantastic. Would definitely recommend Otterswick cabin which we stayed in.

Marston log cabin on Sanday With hot tub

MurrayRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Our first visit to Sanday was made complete by Helen and her beautiful cabin. We were made to feel very welcome and the cabin was in immaculate order throughout. The homemade bread and homebakes were a great surprise and very tasty! The hot tub was well worth the extra money and we're only sorry we couldn't stay for longer. Close by are all the amenities you could need, and a couple of local restaurants only a few miles away. Private, undisturbed place to hunker down for a few days. Highly recommended and we look forward to our next visit!
