Barn vacation rentals in Northumberland

Had a fantastic stay at Silver Fox Barn. Came for a last minute mid-week break and was not disappointed. Jonathan was quick to organise everything and very detailed with his instructions. The property itself is lovely, modern but very homely feeling with everything we needed and more. Located in a very pretty and quiet area, but still very close to everywhere you'd like to visit in the area. Also went for dinner at one of the recommended restaurants just 10 minutes drive away and not disappointed. We would gladly recommend and return again in future!

A wonderful venue, Susan provided everything we could have asked for and more. Warm, comfortable, quiet and peaceful. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

Stayed here for a quiet stag with some friends. It was perfect for what we were looking for- beds were comfortable and the place is bigger than it looks in the pictures, we comfortably fitted around the living room area with a couple beers. The 2 minute walk to the beach was great for a kick about & a swim. The barn next door is a great option for coffees & Ubers were readily available to get to the local pub as well. The hosts were great, on hand to help and friendly, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend if you had a group looking to stay.

What a wonderful place .. I cannot fault it at all .. all the facilities you need including comfy beds and powerful showers .. so restful and peaceful yet in easy reach of so many places .. thats if you want to venture out .. also just a lovely place to spend time in and relax .. with Allendale Town a short walk away which is simply charming! It was lovely to meet Richard on arriving and to get a look around at the ‘small plot big ideas’ and meet the all animals especially dogs Darcy and Jess! Our time was over all too quickly but O would return in a heart beat!♥️

The whole process was amazing from start to finish. The hosts are friendly, helpful, and really quick to respond. We got the information we needed in good time. They left a personalised welcome note in the cottage and comprehensive clear information. The accommodation was stunning. Really clean, beautifully decorated and furnished, and well equipped with everything we needed. It was peaceful, the outdoors space is so lovely too. We had a great time exploring the local area and there is loads to do around and about. Would highly recommend, really family friendly and a great little getaway spot.

We spent a couple of nights at this lovely cottage and had a wonderful time. Our host was very friendly, the welcome pack was great, very generous and had such a personal touch with homemade cake, jam and scones. The cottage was very clean and tidy and perfectly equipped. We really couldn’t fault it. Definitely recommend it!

We went with our kids and dog and it was the perfect week away. The grounds are spectacular and private so the kids and dog can run around safely. The accommodation is ideal, comfortable with everything we needed. The location is perfect if you want to go to places on the east coast. Duns is a lovely village with friendly people. We enjoyed it so much, we’ve already booked to return!

A lovely, very well equipped house with a very nice view of the surroundings. The owners live next door and instructions make sense when you arrive. the house is called Hadrians View. freshly made scones with cream and jam waiting for us in the fridge and a bottle of wine. Very kind and very much appreciated. Would live to come back here in the future.

The barn was beautiful and full of little touches. Pam was an excellent host and was very friendly. She even baked us shortbread whilst we were there! We loved the peace and quiet yet we could get to Alnwick within 10 minutes. A fantastic break. Pam has put together a folder with recommendations for food and drink and this was especially useful. Would love to stay again.

Book this cottage for my 60th birthday . leading up to our stay was good, the accommodation was as described, very nice we had to turn the heating down, as to warm at night. Beds all very comfortable, only down side there were no mattress protector. Aprt from that all the family 6 adults 2 young children had plenty of room, to move about without getti g in each other way.

We stayed 2 nights and the place was lovely. Done out really tastefully and the beds were very comfortable. The setting was amazing. Adam was really good at communicating and we loved our stay. Thanks so much

Quite rural but only 8 mins off the main road - makes you feel you’re in a very special quiet place! Great little cottage, cozy and comfy and clean, and nicely decorated. Hot tub with great view is a fab addition. Would recommend.

The barn was beautiful, and located in a very picturesque place. Very cosy and with all the creature comforts needed for our stay. A short distance to Hadrian’s wall, it was a great location for walking and running. The host was most accommodating.

A beautiful, private location with plenty of space and everything we needed for a family with young children. The house was clean and beds were comfortable too!

What a beautiful home Anna has prepared for her guests and the person who cares for it between lets is to be commended. Everything about our holiday here with a couple of friends was outstanding. The home is beautifully furnished and decorated - sofas and beds very comfortable. It is the best equipped home I have ever stayed in. It was spotless. The garden is peaceful and large. The Hot Tub was a real treat. We have just returned home and we both feel so relaxed. Because of its position it’s easy to get around and we had some lovely days out. Anna is great at communicating. We really felt at home and could have stayed there forever. Thank you Anna - you really deserve to be a SuperHost.

Great location with both Newcastle and Durham within easy reach plus loads of lovely walks right on the doorstep. Ideal for visiting these cities and also for taking the dogs on long and interesting countryside walks. Well equipped and comfortable accommodation with both Louise and Angus helpful and friendly hosts. Spot on.

This was a great place for a large group. We only had one child with us, but I would recommend for people with children as there is plenty to keep them occupied. It was very comfortable and homely and would be great in the summer but our winter break was excellent.

This was our second stay at The Old Granary, and we would definitely return again. The cottage has everything we need and is very comfortable and cosy. We love the beautiful, peaceful setting close to nature, with the added benefits of all the leisure activities on site.

Windmill cottage is a lovely home from home. Everything that we needed for our stay was provided, including a welcome basket for us and our dog. The cottage is very roomy and our host, Claire, was very friendly and responsive. It’s location is great for accessing all of the Northumberland coastline and we enjoyed wonderful days out exploring the area. We would highly recommend Windmill Cottage and we hope to return. excellent accommodation in beautiful surroundings . Just as described and just what we needed

We had the most amazing stay at The Byres in beautiful Northumberland! The house itself was really well equipped, had a wonderfully comfortable living space and plenty of areas for the different members of our family to please themselves! Everything was immaculate, and well-presented; and we had some lovely time relaxing out in the garden when the sun emerged! A highlight of our trip was wending our way through the sheep and lambs each time we ventured out to explore the area, it felt like a privilege to share space with them for the week! Linda was the perfect host, so helpful and communicative - and we definitely would love to stay at The Byres again, maybe at a time of year where we can enjoy those dark skies!

I wish I could give Emma a million stars. The place was absolutely wonderful! the location was fabulous and the place was really cosy, well decorated and spacious. Mostly though she was incredibly helpful. we went for a wedding at Wedderlie House and brought our dog. She went above and beyond and managed to find us a dog sitter for the day of the wedding and was there for anything we needed. Honestly I couldn't recommend staying here more!
