Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Northern Europe

We had a lovely stay at Tethera Nook with our dog Luna! Emma and Craig were brilliant and it was lovely to see them working so hard on their gorgeous garden while we were there! It provided a lovely place to sit with a drink in the mornings! Their very friendly dog Capone always happy to come and say hello! It felt very private the whole week, walking distance to Kendal town, and we even hiked up to Scouts Scar which was recommended in the guide book (the views definitely did not disappoint). Tethera nook had everything we needed for our stay and with it being extremely hot the fan was an added bonus in keeping us and our dog cool! The eggs and veg that Emma leaves out is incredible and the little gifts of brownies, gin and jams on our arrival kept us going for the whole week! Everything was just perfect for our relaxing week away in the lakes, with close links to the rest of the national park! We would absolutely stay here again!

We loved the house and surroundings! The amenities are a dream – even much better than in the photos! We were overwhelmed by the sauna, the hot tub, the fireplace and the unique location in the middle of nature. There are houses in the area – but you have enough privacy. Everything was clean and we felt right at home. :) You can get to the beach very quickly and it's also not far from Tallin. We would have liked to stay a little longer! :) Nathalie

The accommodation is fantastic. The large window with sea view is the absolute highlight. The furnishings are lovely and super equipped. Even in cloudy weather, the accommodation invites you to linger. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend the accommodation if you want a quiet time.

Michaels place was absolutely incredible.. the house, the views and everything in between! We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to stay. Kerry was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Michael was very responsive and gave us recommendations to do. My kids enjoyed playing outside all day. Also, loved all the big windows in the house and having a fantastic view from each one! Would love to come back and stay again one day! Thank you again for the lovely stay!

This is my third time visiting Badgers Bothy and we've made it 4 for next year! It is a little peace of heaven, set in the most gorgeous setting. If you are looking for a place to relax, unwind and forget about things for a few days then Joe's place is perfect for this. It's beautifully decorated, beautifully clean and feels like a second home from the second you walk through the door. The wildlife is an additional bonus - sat in the living room watching a Muntjac walk past was just the cherry on the top. Thanks Joe for another lovely visit, we are very much looking forward to coming back next year x

The little house is a five star property with clean and comfortable furniture, amazing garden and breath taking lake views. We had all the amenities we needed for the entire stay and kathi have been very helpful. If you book this property, prepare to have an amazing private space but prepare to walk down some stairs to reach the little house.

Ute was a lovely hostess. The boat house, the quiet location overlooking the pond, where you could swim wonderfully, is unique.

Do not hesitate to go there! It is the perfect getaway! Everything is well thought, well decorated, we felt so quickly at home and at peace. There are some houses and neighbours around the house but you might only see them when you arrive and leave. The place is private and quiet. The view is exactly like the picture, we spent evenings looking at the sky, the birds, the rabbits and the cows. A great place 😊

A truly magical and unique stay in a castle apartment. After 24 days exploring the beauty of Italy, our arrival at Simone's third floor apartment in the village was breathtaking. This truly magnificent setting, nestled within a castle, immediately enveloped us in a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The apartment itself is not only beautifully appointed and meticulously cared for, but also boasts spectacular views across the mountain range that invited us to sit for hours, simply unwinding and soaking in the tranquility. While we ventured down the mountain a few times, we found ourselves drawn to the gentle rhythm of morning and evening walks, always culminating in a visit to the piazza to once again marvel at the stunning views Simone, our host, is simply the most considerate and attentive host I have encountered in 15 years of travel. Peggy was extremely kind and responded quickly to our messages. She met us for check-in and explained everything!! The apartment is on the top floor and a 10 min walk to most things. The porch doesn’t have an ocean view, it is a view of the city which is still very pretty! The apartment was very very clean! I would definitely stay here again!! Parking was easy also. I highly recommend this Airbnb.

We had a wonderful weekend for four and our 2 dogs. The apartment has everything you need. We cooked, grilled and chilled on the great terrace. The apartment has a very charming style and is tastefully decorated. Optimal location with a view, you can go hiking directly from the house. We LOVED El Solitaire! It is a beautiful house and pool with quality in every detail. The infinity pool is lovely and a good size for getting some lengths in. The view is stunning and it is one fo the most quiet and peaceful places we have stayed. The inside of the house is stylish, light and airy. The kitchen has everything a keen cook could wish for and it is such a lovely space to be in when preparing any meals. Everything was sparkling and clean. There was some welcome food and drink - always approciated. The fridge has cold running spring water and an icemaker ( no risk of running out of ice). Georgina gave us a warm welcome on arrival and was available for any questions. Craig was also welcoming, warm and friendly. Thank you both for all the little touches that made our week such a 5 Star experience!

We just arrived home from our stay at Daniel's house and already miss it and want to go back! The views are absolutely stunning! The house was clean and was designed beautifully. The town where this house is located is charming, with a wonderful restaurant tucked in a piazza. Daniel was communicative before and during our stay. Loved our stay at Villa Flora Fauna Lago and would absolutely recommend it!

Simon was a wonderful host. He welcomed us warmly and personally, took plenty of time to give us helpful tips about the region. You could tell at all times that this was a private property and not an investment property. It was tastefully furnished with beautiful, partly antique furniture. The kitchen had everything we needed and we really enjoyed cooking and enjoying the beautiful view of the lake from the terrace. Everything in this charming house worked and it was very clean and well maintained. Simon's advice about the challenging stairs to and around the house should be taken very seriously. He accurately describes these and other challenges that come with living in this old and charming village. Overall, we felt super comfortable. Simon was always available, extremely helpful, and we had some really nice chats with him. If you love the northern Italian lakes, appreciate individuality, and value a highly dedicated host, this is the perfect place for you.

La Boheme Chic was a heavenly little piece of Provence! We stayed four nights and always looked forward to coming back to the house after a day of exploring thanks to the pool and patio with its gorgeous view! We also appreciated the air conditioning, as we were there on very hot days. We could easily walk into Roussillion for dinner, and other pretty hill towns were just a short drive away. The house had everything we needed, including a dishwasher and washing machine. It was the ideal spot for exploring this part of the world! Florence was helpful and proactive in supplying us with everything we needed to know. All in all, a perfect stay!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the villa. It's in a spectacular location overlooking the lake and wider countryside. The villa is stylishly decorated with contemporary touches. It has all the amenities and practical things required - comfortable beds, good showers, BBQ, well equipped kitchen and outdoor seating. Friendly and efficient communication with the owner Luis. Overall we loved this place and will return.

A house like in paradise. Seeing the midnight sun over the lake was a magical experience. We sat for hours (until the early hours of the morning) in the very cozy living room, enjoying the silence and the beautiful view. Several times we could even observe reindeer on the neighboring property. The most comfortable bed was in the piano room, with direct views of the garden and the lake. The other beds were also cozy - on top of the gallery just a little saggy and the single beds downstairs were too narrow for adults. But if you push them together, it works wonderfully. On the terrace, we could make ourselves very comfortable on the garden furniture, enjoy the sun and the fantastic view of the lake. Of course, we also enjoyed using the large sauna in the separate sauna cottage and the rowing boat. A lovely gesture from the hostess was chocolate, grapes and lemonade. Thank you for that!
