Farmstay vacation rentals in Northern Europe

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The place is idyllic and perfect for two families who want to relax and enjoy nature. We used both boats and kayaks, and the kids were thrilled to see crabs - extra nice that the host took the time to show them. The evenings were spent around the campfire and in the jacuzzi – a perfect end to nice days. Everything was clean, well organized and incredibly cozy. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature and tranquility. We will definitely be back - thank you so much!

If we could give the castle 10 stars, we would! None of us wanted to leave. The castle with view and surroundings was beautiful and peaceful. Our kids loved learning the history of the castle and of Spain in general from Marc, the host. Marc was always available with anything we needed. We hiked 3 trails from the castle which Marc recommended and we loved them all. The kids enjoyed exploring the castle and property around the castle. They all say it’s the best place we’ve ever stayed! Thank you Marc! We hope to come back one day!:)

This estate is a dream—life changing in all the best ways. From the jasmine-scented gardens and sweeping views of Siena to the beautifully restored guest suites—personally designed by Andrea, an architect and true artist—every detail felt magical. He greeted us so warmly, spent generous time sharing the estate’s history, and even gifted us a bottle of his family’s wine—which was absolutely lovely and made us feel truly welcome. The plunge pool was a refreshing retreat, and the setting was pure tranquility: birdsong, rustling leaves, and golden Tuscan sunsets. Andrea gave us a wonderful tour and shared the story behind his family’s efforts to preserve this incredible place. We adored the gentle Maremma dogs, Fiora and her puppy, Pecorino, who made us feel right at home. We were so impressed with this stay and Andrea’s efforts to preserve this very special place. Every moment here felt like a scene from a film—elegant, peaceful, and filled with soul. We can’t wait to return.

A real feel-good place. Above all, we enjoyed the bathing pond, with raft for rowing and swimming boards with paddles. We were also traveling by bike. Our granddaughter was there. She was also thrilled. We also got fresh eggs from happy chickens. All in all, a successful vacation. We would come back anytime. Gerhard was very helpful with any questions. A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Tuscany We absolutely loved our stay at this charming farm stay in Tuscany. It’s a true hidden gem — peaceful, authentic, and full of rustic character. The room was beautiful and thoughtfully styled, staying true to its Tuscan roots, and the surrounding land is vast and serene — perfect for unwinding and soaking in the countryside. The swimming pool is a real highlight, offering stunning views and a refreshing escape on warm days. The farmhouse offers some essential staples for purchase, but we’d recommend bringing your own snacks and toiletries just to be safe. The nearest town, Pari, is just a 2.5km drive away and has two lovely restaurants if you’re looking for a meal out. Get the breakfast basket on the first day for 10euro per person, it’s excellent and then you can cook your own breakfast with the ingredients. Overall, a relaxing and memorable stay — highly recommended if you’re looking to slow down and experience the true essence of Tuscany.

The cottage was cozy and perfect for what we needed. It matched the description exactly and was very clean and well-maintained by the host. We felt very welcomed by Nanna Maja and being able to interact with the animals was a nice touch!

We had a great family weekend in the slow house in the middle of the forest in front of the lake. The place is great, exotic and very quiet. The cottage is well-equipped, clean and perfectly decorated. The heated pool is an asset (too bad there's no small ladder to get out of it) The owners are responsive and attentive. We recommend ++ this Airbnb.

We spent a week in the bungalow and especially enjoyed the tranquility and privacy. No annoying neighbors, absolute peace. A special highlight was clearly the horses, who were very happy to be petted. Despite the rather secluded location, you could be in Porto in 45 minutes and explore the city. There were several supermarkets nearby that also offer many gluten-free products. Jorge was super friendly and accommodating and always asked if everything was okay or if we needed anything. As a welcome, there was even homemade limoncello from lemons from the farm.

Absolutely amazing stay, we can't thank the host's enough for their attention to detail, creating a magical place to escape reality. Fully equipped for all your glamping needs, including the most friendly cat. We didn't want to leave! 100% recommend.

My friends and I had an excellent stay here. The location was perfect for our biking trip and exploring the local area. The lodge was fantastic—spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and offering everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and the pizza oven, which were great additions. The views were absolutely stunning. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and very accommodating. Highly recommended!

We had a blissful time at the granary and would definitely recommend this place to others. It’s a beautiful building but the grounds of Coes Farm and the added bonus of having a pool (which if you are lucky is essentially a private pool all to yourself as it was always empty when we went in) make it an amazing place to unwind and rest. The property had everything we needed, including some little ducks who came to the back door to welcome us! We would also recommend a trip to Canterbury while you are here, it is a beautiful place to visit.

We were not disappointed in any way with our stay. Karen was the perfect host, friendly, informative with great comms even before we arrived. The accommodation was exactly as described, spotlessly clean, well presented, what you see in the advert is what you get. The swimming pool is beautiful & private...just the birds breaking the silence. We would recommend this property to our friends/family... we hope to be back soon. Thankyou Karen & Hugh xx

This accommodation is perfect for a quiet retreat with stunning views of mountains and the beach from an elevated position. Access is via some narrow steep lanes but well worth it. Modern property with all facilities and perfect for a couple. Reading a book on the outside terrace overlooking the magnificent scenery was a real treat.

Had the most relaxing time at the Banchory Farm. The cottage is absolutely stunning the surrounding is peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely come back!

We had a lovely 4 night stay at William & Chris' place.The instructions to find the place were clear & easy to follow & William came by once we'd settled in to say hi & gave some good advice about local walks & things to do in poor weather.The accommodation is beautifully situated, clean & plenty of amenities.The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of equipment & cooking utensils.There was a set of towels each & a washing machine to use if needed.There weren't any toiletries but we'd brought our own anyway.Very friendly chickens that appeared out of no where as soon as you opened the door!The only main issue we had was with the heat-due to the position of the large windows it trapped all the heat inside & we couldn't open the doors to let any air through due to the chickens & flies coming in,so it was a bit uncomfortable.There is a long narrow road & track up to the house, the last bit of which had quite a few large pot holes so care's needed when driving. Thank you for a fab break!

Michaels place was absolutely incredible.. the house, the views and everything in between! We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to stay. Kerry was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Michael was very responsive and gave us recommendations to do. My kids enjoyed playing outside all day. Also, loved all the big windows in the house and having a fantastic view from each one! Would love to come back and stay again one day! Thank you again for the lovely stay!

Our castle stay w/ Ippolita, Simone, & Mauro was the most unexpected gem of our travels so far & likely the 1 we’ll remember most fondly. Communication w/ Ippolita was smooth & Simone warmly welcomed us, casual, relaxed, kind, & clearly keeping the property well cared for. The castle & abbey are stunning, from the original stone & wood work, windows and bathroom fixtures to the creative touches like a brisk fresh water trough-turned-soaking pool - all thoughtfully restored. The rolling hills & serene landscape is breathtakingly - Pictures dont do it justice. Mauro began the restoration 34 yrs ago & it’s now a beautiful family endeavor. They’ve shaped it into an elegant, welcoming space, & Mauro - a former Olympic gold medalist & riding instructor, walks the grounds trailed by a joyful pack of dogs & well-groomed kitties. My children gravitated to him instantly &welcomed us as they played nearby, generously sharing stories of the abbey’s past. We only wish we could have stayed longer.
