Feel spoilt by the elegance of yesteryear in the 1800’s manor of Mount Pleasant. Dine al fresco beside your private pool at this historic property nestled under Table Mountain. Unwind with a glass of Cape wine in the gracious and romantic guest suite with its own vine-strewn garden, or curl up in an armchair by the grand stone fireplace. The spacious and airy open-plan guest suite is ideal for couples and young families. Centrally located in leafy Newlands, within walking distance of the famous sports stadiums, UCT and SACS. The house has been recently renovated and is a family home, and the property of Mount Pleasant is an interesting slice of Cape Town’s history, dating back to the 18th Century. The guest suite is ideal for a couple or family and consists of: - one large open plan bedroom-lounge (sleeps 3 - 4) - a full kitchen - bathroom with bath, shower, double vanity - a private lap pool - private garden looking up to Table Mountain and Devil’s Peak. In summer, lazing beside the sunny pool, dining outside and having a traditional South African “braai” (barbecue) are a must and in winter the roaring fire, full kitchen and TV provide a warm retreat. The bedroom-lounge is open plan with separate kitchen and bathroom. King size bed, a single sofa bed and a further single bed set up in the suite for 4th guest if required. Cable TV and WiFi are included. On offer are bottles of wine and drinks, laundry and cleaning services. Other extras which may be available are: use of the baronial dining room for meetings (seating for up to 18 people) or special occasions (daytime only). Please note: the pool is NOT fenced and is immediately adjacent to the suite, so please take extra care (therefore the space is not recommended for children who cannot swim). Private garden and pool. Off-street parking for 1 car. Use of the large dining room on request. Guests can enjoy total privacy, but the family and domestic staff are usually at home to welcome you and happy to answer questions and assistance via phone or text.Our friendly dogs: Boris, Frankie, Josh and Pixel will always give you an enthusiastic welcome (but your garden and wing is private so the dogs won’t bother you). Newlands is one of the original leafy suburbs of Cape Town bordering the University and State President’s residence. Lovely and sheltered from summer winds and cafes, restaurants and shops are a stroll away. Newlands is perfectly central for most of Cape Town’s most popular excursions. Table Mountain and cableway, the V&A Waterfront, beaches, wine farms, and the city centre are all within 10-25 minutes' drive and Ubers etc are readily available. The suburb of Newlands itself has many attractions, but to enjoy the full offering of Cape Town we recommend hiring a car or taking a taxi (Uber or call-taxi). Private guides or drivers will also collect directly from the premises. Airport transfers/shuttles/taxis are available at the airport or by booking through a transfer company. POOL Important: the pool is not protected with a net or fence and is immediately adjacent to the suite so please be careful and we do NOT recommend the suite for infants/children who cannot swim. PETS We can accommodate pets on request, but be aware there are resident dogs. EXTRAS Extras, such as wine, can be paid in cash or through the SnapScan App. MEETINGS & FUNCTIONS The baronial dining room can be booked for special meetings and daytime functions (rates/availability on request). It is a handsome room and seats 14-18 people. SHOOTS & LOCATION The Mount Pleasant manor house and grounds may be available for professional photography/film shoots. This would need to be by special arrangement directly with owners or their agents. Rates vary according to specifics of the shoot. (Please note: use of the guest space for commercial shoots would be an extra cost and is not included in the accommodation rate).

Quiet, Cosy Garden Cottage by Newlands Village

Cottage has a small courtyard with outdoor table & chairs with weber braai. Amazing views of the Newlands Forest side of Table Mountain. Kitchen is fully fitted with Smeg stove. There are no steps, shower is a walk in shower with double vanity. Ideally situated 500m from the popular nature walks in the Newlands Forest, 2 minutes away from the Newlands Cricket & Rugby Stadiums and 2.5km form the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. Great restaurants, Barristers & Forries on our doorstep with the amazing Gardeners Cottage where you can enjoy one of the best breakfasts just a 300m walk . We are available if you are in need of assistance, but like the guests to have their own privacy and space Nestled below the Newlands Forest with Table Mountain views, the home is an easy walk to Newlands Village with cute restaurants, shops, and more. Forries Pub is around the corner, and Montebello Design Centre and Kirstenbosch Gardens are close by.

Peach Lane is a leafy cul-de-sac which ends on the banks of a mountain spring in Newlands Village. The village forms a central hub around historic mountain springs and breweries. The area is part of the University of Cape Town precinct. Taxi and Uber services available.

Cozy Garden Studio

A tranquil hideaway with solar power and loads of books, set in a small, lush garden. The studio has a bedroom with a TV to stream Netflix and DStv, a workstation with a large desk and office chair, and a tiny en-suite bathroom with a shower. It has a private entrance and bistro table and chairs overlooking the pool. There isn’t a kitchen, but a fridge, microwave, egg boiler, toaster, coffee plunger, kitchen essentials, and some basic breakfast goodies are provided. Our two dogs are co-hosts!

We have full solar installed so load shedding no problem. This is a spacious room with a Queen size bed and en-suite bathroom. French doors open to a private kitchenette and dining terrace. We will provide Filer coffee/tea/milk for you to enjoy at your leisure. A seperate garden entrance and secure off-street parking allows you to come and go as you please. Centrally located in the leafy suburbs of Claremont, we are 20 minutes from both the city center and some main tourist attractions.

Rutherglen Cottage: No load-shedding! (Solar)

Welcome to our beautiful cottage in leafy Newlands. It sleeps three people comfortably. It can also be interleading with the Studio @ Rutherglen, which is great for families. A Nespresso coffee machine makes that morning cuppa a treat, especially taken outdoors at your private seating area. Teabags, coffee pods and biscuits are provided. There is a refrigerator, microwave and flat-screen TV with full DStv. (You may be visited by a friendly Spaniel)

Kirstenbosch Bishopscourt 2 bed ground floor flat

Centrally situated in quiet neighbourhood for a relaxing stay. Good security, homely touches , close proximity to UCT, city centre , Hout Bay ,Newlands Forest and Cavendish Square shopping mall. Own private entrance with small private outdoor area. There are no mountain views from the cottage only from the garden of the the property. UPS backup for wifi and lights with battery bulbs during loadshedding.
