Kid-friendly vacation rentals in New England

It is a very beautiful and peaceful place, I recommend it, and it is very clean which is one of the most important things about a place.

It’s feels like pressure to write a review that stands up to ALL the other incredible reviews. I suppose we should stop there because that says it all. But we will add this: Ellie and Tower either wrote the book on hospitality or they read it 100 times. There is no doubt you will get the sense that everything is done with an eye to making you happy and comfortable…. And they do that in Spades. If this place caught your eye… act now… it will capture your heart as well.

Overall we very much enjoyed modern rural space. Kiss the Cow farm about 5min drive was amazing& we got most all main food there w/ additional items from Barnard General Store. Spices/ cookware were very good - we brought nonstick pans& 1 knife to supplement. Plenty bowls, measuring cups/spoons, maybe a set of tom collins glasses would be nice albeit stemless wine and rocks glasses available. Needs garlic/onion powder. Tub was amazing/ upstairs bathroom a true getaway/ relaxing space. It was as pictured albeit note spiral staircase &open grated flooring upstairs. Plenty of windows albeit not much cross breeze so think ahead if bring own fan and/or start A/C before get too warm. I would say you must have an SUV year round for this rental - surrounding roads/ driveway are a good distance on rough dirt/gravel - traversable yet a sportier car with low profile tires/ ground clearance would not work. We enjoyed simply walking driveway& East Barnard Rd. Barnard Inn restaurant worth it.

This was a gorgeous place. Belfast was a cute little town not far away. We enjoyed eating at Rollies Bar and Grilland walking around town. Hannaford grocery store was close with average prices. We had approximately 1 1/2 hour drive when we visited Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor which were exceptional. We enjoyed the food at Geddys and Bar Harbor Inn. We also traveled to Owls head lighthouse and hiked through Camden State Park. This was a nice location we enjoyed our stay.

No notes, incredible escape even in the pouring rain. The ambience, even down to the little things like walking through the door to classical music, was truly top notch.

We loved our stay here!! It was the perfect getaway for a long weekend. The property is beautiful and private but close to anything that you might need. The kitchen was super well stocked, beds were comfy, and we really appreciated the firewood supply. Nikki & Topher were great hosts - extremely responsive to all questions we had and proactive about check in/check out instructions. Would definitely come back!

Every detail in this house has been meticulously curated. It is the nicest Airbnb I have ever stayed. The amenities were all well maintained and the location cannot be beat. The perfect secluded getaway.

Book this place immediately if you’re looking for a relaxing family stay, situated minutes from gorgeous beaches with swimming lakes and want to spend evenings bbqing and looking at the incredible view. "Extraordinary Architectural Masterpiece" pretty much sums up the apartment. Nice open spaces with elegant lighting and design touches throughout. Lots of windows ensured it was bright and offered great views of the city (often made possible by an abundance of parking lots close by - this is a good thing!). We were able to walk to a number of great restaurants, none of which were more than 10 minutes on foot. Likewise, the ferry to Peaks Island is an easy walk (and worth the trip, particularly if you rent a bike which is super easy). Alice was super responsive when I reached out with questions and updates on timing. So all good and glad we stayed there!

Cute, cozy, clean, and super close to the bike trail! Perfect stay for a weekend exploring the towns along the trail.

From the moment I arrived I was struck by it's beauty captivated by the stunning sunrises to start each day The retreat is charming and a place of solace. The beautifully manicured lawn and gardens filled with lush floral designs adds to its magic. while the front porch with its rocking chairs, invite you to slow down and savor your morning coffee or lose yourself in a good book. Evenings are equally special walking the path to the beach and settling into the adriondack chair with a glass of wine It's a peaceful ritual that grounds you in gratitude. The home itself is cozy, comfortable and thoughtfully decorated with calming beachy touches that make you feel at ease. It's perfectly located just minutes from downtown Salem. I'm grateful to be one of the lucky guests to stay in David's home. He was a kind and gracious host. A truly memorable retreat I will be back

Great host! The apartment was exactly as described : clean, stylish, and very comfortable.

My husband, ten month old, and I enjoyed our stay at Connie's farm! We traveled to the White Mountains to celebrate our one year anniversary. Connie's rental is conveniently located with lots of great restaurants and outdoor things to do within an hour drive. We loved the beautiful view out the sliding glass door into the backyard! As questions popped up, Connie answered them almost immediately. Thank you so much for a lovely weekend away!

Roy place was amazing! Fantastic view, quiet, cozy, private. All info about surroundings were left in the apartment. Very easy access to this place, and fridge was loaded with home made goodies. Roy was taking care of us pretty good. All the time you feel like home. Roy, thanks for everything, you should be proud of your beautiful place….happy travellers…E&J

The place was just as described. They were very helpful and accommodating. If you’re in the area, and need a place to stay I would definitely recommend them

Cindy was great with communications, and gave me all of the instructions I needed to make it a pleasant stay for me, my dog, and the hosts. I stayed Friday and Saturday nights, and enjoyed the craft beer and locally made sourdough pizza in the evenings with a talented musical duo playing on Saturday night. The taproom closes at 8pm, and after closing time the apartment is very quiet and peaceful. The apartment is cozy with attractive furnishings and a comfortable bed, but it is not a place for people with mobility challenges. There are 17 steps up to the apartment, and the shower in a free-standing claw-foot tub doesn't have handrails. I enjoyed my stay, and give it a 5-star review for physically fit singles or a couple!

Amazing view and location! We loved how convenient this location was to shopping and restaurants. Having never been to Portland, this was a very pleasant surprise for us. Parking in the lot directly next to the building was easy and close. Sitting on the balcony watching the boats was so relaxing. Very comfortable condo and we would definitely stay again.

Rick was a WONDERFUL host and was extremely helpful in both communication and friendliness. The room was PERFECT as it was quiet and the kitchen was wonderful to make breakfast in and sit on the porch. Again, it was quiet and peaceful and we had full access to the amenities of the building. We will definitely be returning next year.

Great, cozy place to stay!

Diane’s condo was a wonderful choice! Her place is clean and spacious and she left very clear helpful instructions for an easy stay. It comes with everything you need and anything you’d want to do in walking distance, highly recommend this spot!

The place is quiet and clean, only a few minutes away from white mountain national forest, me and my friend had a great time here

This place is fully equipped with all the cooking utensils, so we felt comfortable like we were at home for three weeks. It was nice that there was a golf course nearby, and there were walking trails around the ski resort, so we spent time healing naturally while we were there. The accommodation facilities were clean and nice.
