Farmstay vacation rentals in Nelson County

We had a really nice stay at the farmhouse! It was very charming and had everything we needed. Close to a lot of wineries and breweries. It was right off a main road which I wasn’t expecting but the traffic noise was minimal inside and the views out the back were beautiful.

My wife and I came to Roseland to compete in the Devils Backbone BBQ Championship which was held at the brewery. The cottage was only a mile from the brewery. It was so relaxing and peaceful to return to the cottage at the end of the day. The cottage is clean, well equipped with everything you need, and very well maintained. Leslie & Mike say they love their cottage and it’s easy to see that. We would absolutely stay there again!! Steve & Kelly

The Inn was the best place to prepare for and stay during our daughter’s wedding weekend. We had everything we needed; the house was beautiful and clean; the beds were comfy. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and around the fire after the festivities. We received 20% off the brewery restaurant and the food was extremely tasty. We highly recommend the Inn!

My wife and I spent a weekend in the Carriage House and really enjoyed our stay. The surroundings were beautiful, peaceful, and quiet, yet conveniently close to the park, vineyards, and restaurants. The place was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.

Words cannot describe the feeling of pure calm that comes over you when you arrive. This place is truly a treasure hidden in the woods. Once you cross the creek you leave the world and all your cares behind. The host pays attention to all the little details and it shows. We have stayed at quite a few places but this one is on our return list. We look forward to sliding up for a long weekend in the late fall or early winter. (Tip- be sure to spend 15 min reading the welcome package it is time well spent).

The Galleywinter farm offered an experience we will never forget. Overall, the accommodations were comfortable with the surrounding farm peaceful and serene.

We came into town for a graduation at Liberty University. The house is on a dirt road well off the beaten path (which I love). It was a very beautiful area, very peaceful even with neighbors nearby. We were delighted to find that the host gifted us a 6 pack of Bold Rock Cider, which oddly enough is my favorite cider (I’m gluten free). Everything was clean, with the exception of the inside of the fridge. My kids played their hearts out running around the yard, swinging, roasting marshmallows. My only complaint is the tiny showers, but I’m claustrophobic 😂😂 otherwise, we had a wonderful stay and would stay again!

We loved this place! ALL of the beds were comfortable, nice linens and pillows. Kitchen had spices, etc. Loads of plates and cups, pots and pans, etc. Plenty of seating outside and inside in both homes. We saw bunnies and deer in the yard, the birds sang to us during the day. What a peaceful location and home! Will definitely book again! Daniel and his wife were helpful and always responsive.

We had an awesome spring break in Anthony’s home with our family. The house was beautiful, clean, free of clutter, and super cozy. Location is perfect for breweries, wineries, and hikes - the best parts of a stay in the Blue Ridge. Plenty of space and great for our young kids and doggies. We loved drinking coffee in the sun room, so much light and nature views. Anthony was also very responsive and clear with instructions so we had zero issues getting in and out. Highly recommend!

Great location and the house felt large and uncrowded for 5 adults and a baby. Nice outdoor space with fire pit. Would definitely rent again.

We had a great stay! We arrived late and were so excited and surprised to see the pool that was right across the parking lot. The next day we realized it was closed for repairs but Kathryn was very quick to respond and was able to grant us access to the resort pool. Birthday weekend for the kiddo was saved! We would definitely stay here again. Walking distance to the market and pool, even the restaurants at the resort.

What a fantastic place to escape the hustle and bustle. Very relaxing. Beautiful view. I would highly recommend bringing food to eat on the patio so you can enjoy the view as much as possible. Hosts were very responsive . Just sit back and relax. We had 4 adult couples and had plenty of room. Very spacious. We will be back.

We had a wonderful stay over New Years - convenient to Wintergreen and lots of cool spots to eat. We thoroughly enjoyed the property (the fresh eggs were a bonus) and hostess Amy was very responsive and nice. Thank you for allowing us to stay at such a cool little place - we made wonderful memories there together!

This was a beautiful home for our peaceful getaway. Check in was easy, we found plenty to do, and the views from the deck were amazing especially from the hot tub. Would definitely recommend.

Overall, this place was great. We have a little one, so the playground, horse farm, pond, and large front lawn were perfect for keeping her entertained while we weren't exploring the surrounding areas. My only critic is that the pictures of the views were a bit misleading. You do not have a view of the mountains from your patio, but instead the view of a circular drive and the accompanying home where many folks park to go play tennis or pickle ball. You are also within about 50-100ft of 3-4 homes on the property. Despite this misrepresentation of the property, I would still recommend it as you have access to these amenities, are in beautiful area, and within close proximity to many small towns/breweries & wineries/Charlottesville/and hiking and other outdoor activities.

Fran was an exceptional host, and the yurt was such a fun way to ring in the New Year. I won't mince words: it was chilly, but the buddy heater was a welcome amenity, and the bed was beyond comfy and piled high with blankets. The bathhouse 250 steps away was terrific, but by far and away my favorite perk was the en suite--the composting toilet around the corner on the deck, something I didn't know about until I arrived! Fran thinks of everything, and, given I was starving on arrival, the freshly baked bread was such a welcome treat. If you're a beer drinker, don't miss Blue Mountain Barrel House & Smokin' Barrel Restaurant. Thank you, Fran!

Claudia’s place was spotless! Beautiful views right from the property. Loved the Firepit in the backyard. Dogs had a great time too! Great location with lots to do in the surrounding areas, we followed recommendations in the guide book in the Airbnb, everything was fantastic. We visited Bonfire Burgers & Bourbon in Amherst, Mt Pleasant for a hike, and Ankida Vinyards. We had 4 people and 2 dogs and the space was perfect. Highly recommend!

Very private and peaceful. A little hard to find as the street sneaks up on you, but once you’re familiar with the area it’s very centrally located. The goats were a fun form of entertainment, and the pool was great with the outside heat. Beverly was very responsive and accommodating. Thanks for a great stay!

We stayed here for a bachelorette weekend and had a great time. The house was even bigger and cozier than I anticipated and the views were gorgeous. We loved being on the same property as Cardinal Point Winery and walked down to do a tasting/enjoy some bottles. The kitchen was stocked with all the tools we could have needed and the pool area was great!

Nancy and her husband were the nicest and super helpful. The property was gorgeous, the amenities and furniture were super comfortable. The first night was spent telling stories around the fire and enjoying the beautiful stars. My wife and I are foodies and ordered local chicken, pork and beef from Nancy which we prepared for a lovely family dinner on our second night. Check in and check out could not have been any easier. If you go to Lynchburg and you enjoy pastries and coffee go check out The Flour District.

Wintergreen is a gorgeous area with so much to do all around. Hikes, wineries, and of course just sitting on the deck and taking in the beautiful mountain view. Condo is spacious and comfortable. Kitchen well stocked and everything very clean. Plenty of firewood for some evening fires in the fireplace. Loved every minute of our time there!

Exceptionally clean and Azra was very responsive and easy to work with. The house was nicely stocked with some essentials and everything worked as advertised. We enjoyed staying at her home, and would definitely stay there again if we were in the area! Thanks!

I can't say enough great things about Linda's place. It was exactly what I was looking for! It was quiet yet close to wineries, hiking, breweries and barely 30 minutes into Charlottesville! The inside was immaculate! Washer/dryer was key since my son had been traveling so much he needed some clean clothes! The kitchen had everything you needed to cook; condiments, etc and plenty of cutlery, pots/pans. Linda and Tom left us a nice bag of local coffee (make sure to visit their roasting site down the road) and some snacks. The linens were high quality and the beds were comfortable. They had a beautiful pool area along with a grill and plenty of outdoor space. I am already planning to visit again hopefully late summer/early fall. Linda gave us great suggestions on food and drink also. Be sure to check out the local farmers market if you are there on a weekend.
