Self-contained village annex

SimonRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Many thanks again for a wonderful stay... the entire weekend break while competing at Nene Valley Trails (30km race) and also catching up with my son was perfect. Geoff & Mary were such welcoming / helpful hosts - their immaculate converted annex stable barn is perfectly located to enjoy the delights of this beautiful part of Northamptonshire, and made us feel very much at home. Candlelight Cottage, Yarwell converted chapel

Paul was a phenomenal and accomodating host! The stay was very serene. This is such a nice place to stay with family or pets! Beautiful scenery, and a cute village feel were just some of the amazing things about this cottage.
A traditional kitchen is highlighted by a classic stove set against a stone wall, featuring exposed wooden beams above. The stonework adds a rustic charm, while the dark hues of the stones are complemented by warm lighting.

Cottage in Yarwell

The accommodations exceeded our expectations, and we couldn't have asked for a more comfortable and welcoming environment. Even Maggie, our dog, felt right at home. She was so comfortable that she put herself to bed each night! We can't wait to come back and experience it all over again.
The image captures a historic stone bridge spanning a calm river, framed by lush greenery and charming stone buildings. Reflections of the bridge and surrounding architecture adorn the water's surface under a clear blue sky, creating a serene and inviting scene.

Work & Relax | Free Parking | 5 Mins to Stamford

LeslieRating, 5 stars3 months ago
My stay at the Retreat was all-in-all quite cozy. I was looking for a place that felt tucked away in order to get some work done and do some laundry mid-traveling, and it worked wonderfully for that. The internet was a little too inconsistent for my needs, but if you're just using the wifi for recreation then it should be perfectly fine. The heating and hot water were very consistent though, as the temperatures did drop a bit, and I felt all together snug. A short drive to Stamford, and I also enjoyed visiting the Barnack Hills & Holes - quite interesting!

What a beautiful place, excellent standard of furnishings and exceptionally good value. In the centre of town which is great for accessing local amenities and also quiet and tucked away.

*Bluebell Cottage*

A beautifully converted brick and slate cottage outhouse. Walk down to the end of a romantic, pebbled, garden path, among trees and flowers to an idyllic, completely private and silent, fairytale summer house, stylishly furnished. Outside an oak picnic table and chairs for dining with barbecue. On the night we arrived we could be found sitting on the grass, leaning on the nearest tree drinking tea at midnight, dappled light emanating from our cottage, well equipped for two people. Elton is a film set, begging to be strolled around at every opportunity. The Crown, 200 yards away, has great catering. Sue is welcoming, flexible, offering help without any intrusion.
An indoor heated swimming pool area presents a spacious layout featuring large glass windows that invite natural light. Comfortable seating is arranged around the space, while a blue table tennis table is positioned nearby. An outdoor view is visible through the expansive window panes.

Wonderful place. Such a peaceful place to stay. Super clean and comfy and very well equipped. Jane is a super friendly host and made us feel very comfortable. Her dog Pimms is a delight too and really brightened up the stay for the kids. Jane was trusting enough to take the dog for a long walk which was one of the highlights of our trip. The entertainment area is such a lovely place to relax. We made plenty of use of the pool which was very well equipped to keep the kids entertained (noodles, floats, play toys). We even enjoyed one movie night in that area one the huge comfy sofas. The surrounding village is wonderful too and nice to potter around. Will defo be going back very soon.
