Rakuan.kitano is a 2- floor detached house．Located near the east gate of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, this is one of the most visited shrine in Kyoto, characterized by a majestic main building and related to the spiritual power of the God of learning. The nearby Kamishichiken street is one of the most picturesque of Kyoto, being the oldest flower street and just next to your homestay. Japannese teahouses are arranged on both sides of the road in an orderly manner,and often used by Geishas and Maikos.

Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Kyo-machiya is a traditional Kyoto architectural style. It is a consecutive style townhouse, a maisonette type terrace one. An entire one. Quiet place. It has two bedrooms with each full bathroom, and a full kitchen. Smoking is allowed on the balcony of 2nd floor only. Capacity 5 adults. In addition, up to 2 infants who do not require a bed can stay free of charge. Accommodation tax is required. Check in time is 3 Ppm - 9 pm. Check out time is 10 am, free out system.
