We renovated an old private house on the banks of the Shimanto River in Shimanto-cho, Kochi Prefecture, so that you can stay there. ✨ We used cypress wood from Shimanto-cho for the flooring, and I think you can enjoy the scent of cypress. The space was designed by Muji Planning Co., Ltd., and we have a full range of Muji products such as furniture, appliances, interior design, and amenities. Couples, couples, girls' trips, families with children, etc. can stay slowly regardless of age, and you can see the starry sky at night. Please enjoy the unbranded space. It is an old-fashioned house with a magnificent main pillar, earthen walls, and built-in storage, but the first floor is completely covered with cedar boards, giving it a new feel. The water area features a newly built island kitchen and a large wash basin. The bath is a Goemon bath that uses both wood and gas, so you can cook with wood or use hot water. Outside the house, there is a friendly sign cat named Aosuke, who will come up to you if you are outside. It is located about 15 minutes by car from the Ishikari Mountain ropeway, making it easy to get to the mountains.

As of 2024, mobile phones have become much easier to connect to. （no wi-fi） The air conditioner was installed in 2022, but it is only on the first floor.Enjoy the natural air. There is a fan. Firewood isn't available from May as it will be warmer.

This house is a beautiful blend of traditional and modern making it convenient but also authentically Japanese. Mountains and ricefields are beside you, the Shimanto River can be heard. The ground floor is all yours. It's spacious with a large tatami sleeping room that can become two. The A/C is only in one room if the doors are closed. There is no central heating. Restaurants are within 10min or you can prepare local foods in your own equipped kitchen. It’s designed for long and short stays.
