Renovated private traditional house near Nara Park

MaximilianoRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Beautiful, traditional Japanese house with enough renovation to make it feel comfortable to stay in. Tomo is a great host who communicated very clearly and his instructions were very helpful during check-in. There are only 2 things I would have liked to be different: 1. The toilet area, it could be bigger but at least it was really clean and tidy :) and 2. The street can become quite noisy with cars and motorcycles during the night and early morning, also people walking by and chatting loudly. This is not the fault of the property or host, just something for future guests to keep in mind if they are sleeping in the front room. Other than that, beautiful place to stay in while in Nara! And not too far from the train station and Nara Park :)

This lovely home was a delight to stay in. Lovely authentic touches, a great bathtub, good kitchen and serene and comfortable bedrooms. The neighborhood is great for biking, there is a nearby shopping street and plenty of conveniences. Emily and team were responsive, helpful and friendly. Were I to come back to Kyoto, I would absolutely stay again!

Oyado Aburari, the closest to Kansai Airport, an inn of Japanese merchants full of Japanese atmosphere (same price for up to 3 people)

English: I stayed in a stunning 200-year-old machiya (traditional townhouse) with a Japanese garden near Kansai Airport with friends, and it was absolutely beautiful 🥺! Every corner was filled with Japanese charm, and I fell in love at first sight. The host was incredibly warm and attentive. Not only did they give us handcrafted accessories made by the hostess, but they also brought us ice cream in the evening. During the room tour upon check-in, Mr. Mino showed me around every part of the house while explaining details—every arrangement was thoughtfully considered, making me feel truly cared for. When checking out, I even got to meet the adorable Apollo 🥰.

This is an authentic traditional home in Kyoto. We fell in love with the place, surroundings and Kyoto! There are bikes to ride. An easy city to ride bikes around. We couldn’t have asked for a better place/location. Love!❤️

Overlooking the Yoshino River! You can enjoy sunset and BBQ in the garden. A private rental old house with just one group at a time!

千里Rating, 5 stars1 day ago
It was a very nice old house that felt nostalgic, like the game "Boku no Natsukyuu" that was popular in the past! There is a veranda, a BBQ in the garden, and a spacious living room. It was a very relaxing place to stay for a Japanese person, and my mind was reset. There are all the appliances and kitchen utensils, and the bedroom on the 2nd floor is also clean. Personally, I would have been very happy if the bathroom had a bathtub, but the room was so nice that I didn't mind. (Because it was sweaty in June and the surrounding hot spring facilities closed at 18: 00) Three things to keep in mind for those who are reading this review. ① You cannot drive directly to the front entrance. The parking lot is far away, so you can't park next to it. ② You will need to walk a little from the parking lot to the inn, and you will need to go up the hill, so if you have a lot of luggage, you will need to divide it into multiple trips. ③ The stairs to the 2nd floor have a steep angle with high steps, which is unique to old private houses, so please be careful if you have weak legs. I would like to visit again the next time I go to Yoshino.
