Swinburne Castle is perfectly situated within its own beautiful parkland and gardens. Traditionally decorated, parts of the house have tremendous history dating back to the 12th century. The east wing is extremely comfortable and private, and don't be perturbed by the stone steps leading down to the vaulted cellar. A delicious continental breakfast will be provided in your rooms. There is ample parking and a tennis court you are welcome to use. lovely footpaths from the house for keen walkers.

We have recently updated our Dairy cottage, by fitting an new kitchen and new windows ! Our Dairy cottage has a double room and a twin room, a modern bathroom, and a cosy living/dining/kitchen area with Smart TV and a wood burning stove ----- the stove is just for fun, there is gas central heating as well to keep it toasty warm. Set on a working sheep farm, the cottage is a great base for local attractions like Beamish Museum, Durham and Hadrian's wall.

The Annexe on High Woodside Farm is an ideal location for couples or families who want to visit the North East of England It is a 15 minute drive to Durham and a 30 minute drive to Newcastle and Sunderland a 40 minute drive. The Annexe has an open plan kitchen, diner and lounge on the ground floor with a bathroom, consisting of toilet, sink and shower and 2 bedrooms on the first floor. It is very light and modern and has a small courtyard.
