Magical Brecon Beacons Eco-barn. Sleeps 10+

Rebecca MairRating, 5 stars3 months ago
This was our second stay (of hopefully many!) at the magical Long Barn and it was even better than we’d remembered! It’s full of charm and personality everywhere you look. The open kitchen/living area is perfect for spending time together and feels so homely. The sofas and beds are very comfortable. Shower water pressure is top notch! The instructions for appliances and recycling were very clear and helpful and Simon is a very responsive host. The outside is just as beautiful as the inside and it was a privilege to be able to call this place ‘home’ for a few days. Diolch yn fawr for another fantastic stay!

Barn with pool + fitness studio

CaitlinRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Such a lovely place to stay. We only booked for two nights and wish we had been there for longer. Lots of really interesting features (a suit of armour! A harp!) in a well stocked house. Very comfortable beds and sofas, beautiful views (we especially enjoyed all the bird nesting in the eaves), gorgeous interior, starry Dark Skies and nice hosts - what's not to love? Great parking. Wish we could have had a few more nights, to check out the pub just down the road.

Oakhill Ponds – Walled Garden: yurt, tub & sauna

AngelaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Words from the youngest-"Insanity great! The gardens are so beautiful. The shower was godly—the person who built it deserves a golden trophy." Our yurt stay was magical—peaceful sky views from bed, cosy warmth, and thoughtful design. My son adored the comfy bed and soft rug, and the wood burner made evenings perfect. The shower- Majestic.Heavenly.Divine. The outdoor kitchen kept family time going through dinner prep—fully equipped and easy to use, luxurious. The record player was a sweet touch (bringing records next time!). We barely needed our supplies—towels, robes, coffee, air fryer, hot plate, and every pot and pan were provided. The wild swimming lake was clean and clear, with soft water and tadpoles resting in the shallows. A swing on a giant oak, deer wandering the land—it felt like a fairytale. Amanda and Rob were kind, relaxed, and attentive, with a strong sense of care and safety. Our son was totally at ease—he thrived in the calm. This place is magic. We’ll be back.

Luxury cosy home

Second visit and just as wonderful as last time. House is great and access to the new wellness area and natural pool was the cherry on the cake. Laura came and greeted us and was lovely with my daughter offering her some outdoor games to play and to feed the farm cats as she knew she was in love with Sammy. Very peaceful location and great access to Skirrid. Fab pubs nearby. Great stay!!

Tom's Cottage

GiselleRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a fantastic weekend at Tom’s cottage. The surroundings were beautiful (views of Sugar loaf, Skirrid etc), and the location was peaceful but with plenty to do nearby. Raglan farm park is great for kids and only a 5 minute drive away, and Raglan castle is also worth a visit. The cottage was spacious and well equipped with modern bathrooms and kitchen. We were very grateful for the delicious Victoria sponge that James made for us, which didn’t last long. We’d definitely visit again, thanks James for your hospitality.

The Olde Cartshed Annexe

AmandaRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Thank you. The Olde Cartshed is beautiful & peaceful. We came to see our daughter’s Year 3 final exhibition at Cardiff Metropolitan University and this was an ideal place to stay with Barney, who loved having the courtyard space to mooch around in. A home from home ❤️ Thank you for the breakfast supplies and teas/coffees. Most appreciated Since we were not here to take in the walks, we met up on Saturday with family all who came to support our daughter and witness Cardiff’s finest young Fine Art students and Sunday was coffee in Cardiff with family unable to make the Saturday However, returning after each long day, to your gorgeous annex, sitting in the courtyard with a cold glass of wine, was a perfect end to a wonderful day

Wren Cottage for your relaxing rural retreat.

MartinRating, 5 stars2 months ago
There are SuperHosts and then there’s Pete!! What a star - he likes to chat to newcomers if he can, and we found him full of really useful info. He even managed to get us a table at the local pub, The White Horse. It was packed, but the service and food were excellent. He also recommended a walk up to the Kymin, which was fantastic - what a view. Pete also gave us the most generous welcome basket of goodies we’ve ever had!! All in all, the perfect, peaceful, pad in a great location to get anywhere in the Wye valley, Forest of Dean or wider Monmouthshire. And Pete!
