Barn conversion, panoramic views in countryside

TobyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a wonderful stay here for a long weekend as two families. Photos don’t do the house justice - a beautiful converted barn with spectacular views and garden! We couldn’t believe how peaceful and private the location was, with comfortable bedrooms and a (incredibly!) well-supplied kitchen full of all the pots, pans and utensils you’d ever need! We loved the outdoor seating area and patio in the sunshine and made use of the BBQ while we had great weather. Hosts James and Emma offered great communication and arrival instructions, thank you for a wonderful stay - we’d highly recommend!

Beautiful Farm Cottage

SharmilaRating, 5 stars1 day ago
We are a family of 4 and stayed here for about a month and a half. We had an amazing experience. Jessica is an Amazing host, responsive, friendly and attentive to any need. While you do need a car to get to the place and move around, the location felt perfect for us, quiet, calm, peaceful, and beautiful with all the nature around it. The house had all we needed it for our long stay, we were able to work from there, internet connection is good, cook from the house, all needed appliances are provided, and we got to do many fun day trips around the area. Lots to see and visit! Abergavenny is just a 10 min drive and they had a large supermarket for groceries and many restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

This is an idyllic find, in a glorious setting, in a very pretty and totally secure garden. The barn conversion is pleasantly furnished in a simple comtemporary style, and there is everything you need, all well thought through. All the family members we met were charming and helpful. We are really looking forward to another visit.

Birch Tree Barn Beautiful S. Wales

WillRating, 5 stars5 days ago
I can only echo what everyone else has said in their reviews about this wonderful spot! Gill was welcoming and responsive, hosting out of a beautiful home that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, with Abergavenny, Usk, Raglan, Monmouth and the Brecon Beacons amongst other places of interest within reasonable driving distance. Upon arriving there was an exquisite, freshly-baked lemon drizzle cake set to one side (the recipe since offered and eagerly accepted!), with some eggs, butter and milk set to one side too which came in very handy. There are lovely spaces in the gardens in which to relax and dine, and if you're lucky enough you might meet furry friends Poppy, Corky & Bertie - at one stage I thought I would be playing fetch with Bertie all night! Many thanks again, Gill :)

Mallards Barn on a rural farm

We’ve just returned from a wonderful 2-night stay at this beautifully converted barn in South Wales, and it was the perfect short escape for our family of four. The setting is peaceful and scenic — surrounded by lush countryside that felt a world away from the usual hustle and bustle. The hosts were really friendly and helpful and our kids loved seeing the sheep, horses, ducklings and swans.

Charming ‘one bedroom’ rural stable conversion

LizRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Spent 3 nights here and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area. Lesley and Martin we perfect hosts making sure that we had everything we needed and checking how our day had been each day. Also plenty of local recommendations The accommodation was just as described, if not more, with a welcome fruit bowl, Welsh cakes, milk, tea, coffee and even chocolates on your pillow. Was lovely to relax in a hot bath after a long day out, again with toiletries provided. we were able to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the evening sunshine when we could. Lesley's directions were easy to follow and the accommodation is within easy reach of Abergavenny, for local amenities and plenty of nearby walks or paddles either along the beautiful Brecon and Monmouthshire canal or nearby Brecon Beacons or Black Mountains

Kestrel Barn

AnnamarieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We were a family group of 12 of various ages celebrating three birthdays. Kestrel Barn was the ideal location for us. It was a peaceful haven, set in glorious countryside with everything we could wish for for a relaxing stay. The accommodation itself is beautiful and the pool table and hot tub were lovely extra touches - as were the apple juice and prosecco welcome gifts! Sheri was very responsive and accommodating. I'd highly recommend staying here!

"Monnow" Barn

VictoriaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a lovely stay at Jonathan and Chris’ farm in such a beautiful and peaceful location. Jonathan was very responsive to any queries throughout. We were travelling in late at night but Jonathan gave very clear instructions as to how to find the property and we had no problems. It was clear that the barn was newly renovated as it was clean and bright with a lovely kitchen and bathroom. There are some additional furnishings that would make the place more cosy and functional but I’m sure these will come with time. It was lovely to meet some of the animals on the farm - a few rescue owls and their dog Peggy. Would recommend this place to others.

The Granary

AshleyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a wonderful stay at the Granary, it's about an hour from the Brecon Beacons and 30 mins from Wye Valley, both locations have stunning walks. There was plenty of space for our party, which included a baby and dog, we even cooked a lovely Sunday Easter Roast and eat it outside! The house has lots of kitchen utensils and trays for cooking, the water pressure in the shower was excellent (that's important to us!) and the host was very responsive. It is on a working farm so you are surrounded by horses, dogs, and a cute cat. We loved this as we are all super outdoorsy but something to be aware of if you aren't an animal lover. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Converted Cider Press with mod cons in Wye Valley

JasmineRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had the most incredible long weekend here. The location of the stay is just beautiful and so peaceful - with a fantastic pub a very walkable distance away which is right on the river. There is a wide range of incredible walks straight out the door too. The Cider Press is a really unique stay and had everything we could want and the fire pit was a great addition. Cheryl was incredibly welcoming and informative on the local area - if we are in the area again we will certainly be staying here.
A cozy sitting area is featured with two plush armchairs and a wooden coffee table. Exposed wooden beams line the ceiling, adding character. A doorway leads to another room, while a window allows natural light to fill the space, enhancing the warm tones of the wooden flooring.

The Old Cider Mill

JaneRating, 5 stars3 days ago
It will be hard to top this Airbnb as it is exactly what we wanted. Perfect in every way. Located actually on the Wye valley way, hardly anyone passed the cottage in the 3 days we were there. Please note that the lane is not much more than a dirt track and some cars might find it difficult in wet weather. The best thing about it is the peace and quiet. On Sunday morning, I went up to the top of the garden and stood looking at the view into the valley and listening to only birdsong. The bird feeder just outside the cottage is a hive of activity, we have seen at least 15 types of bird including a Great Spotted Woodpecker and squirrels. The cottage is small but perfectly formed, spotlessly cleaned and very comfortable and cosy. With table snd chairs outside for al fresco dining. Every day we were visited by a little terrier type dog we named Doris, she really made herself at home and I hope future guests will welcome her too. The only thing it needs is a bench at the to of the garden x
A serene landscape is filled with a vibrant carpet of bluebells against a backdrop of lush green trees. Sunlight filters through the branches, creating a peaceful ambiance in this tranquil natural setting.

High View Barn Penallt

PeteRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We loved the off the beaten track location The 50m away only other property was out of sight and just helped us not to feel completely isolated. Everything was just right. The quality of the ban conversion. The underfloor heating kept a comfortable ambient temperature, and altho overast and chilly outside we didn't feel the need to light the wood burner and took our kindling home. The kitchen was well equipped kitchen, the bed comfortable. bek. The full with windows across the length of the kitchen made it a great spot to sit and take in the great view through trees free and across the valley. Birdsong and bird activity was a feature, with birds of prey from time to time high above, and a 7am knocking on the glass door from a grouse! Maybe reacting to its own reflection. Another time we would have explored the area on foot, very easy to do with footpaths crossing close by going down towards the river. but we opted for cosy and restful.

Old Barn House Hereford

RuthRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a fabulous relaxing long weekend at Old Barn House, a simply beautiful house in a beautiful peaceful setting with a wonderful countryside view from every window! The information provided by Sarah prior to our visit was excellent & so comprehensive with a lovely meet & greet on our arrival & a wonderful welcome basket containing lots of goodies. The house is very spacious, beautifully furnished & equipped, with plenty of parking, spotlessly clean with absolutely everything thought of including hot tub towels & blankets for those chilly evenings sitting outside in the stunning garden. The beds were so comfortable & the luxury bedding the best any of us had previously experienced in a holiday rental. The hot tub with a view & garden hammock were also big hits & used daily.....and although we didn't get time to try them out, there is also a great selection of indoor & outdoor games. Thank you so much, we would highly recommend.
