A beautiful yard and unique cabin, peaceful place

The cabin was beautiful! It was private and we felt like we were removed from everything. We were able to relax and recharge. We were left great ideas for hiking, food, and sightseeing. We would love to book it again!

Such a cute little space! It had everything we needed while staying. Pam and Rob did a great job of turning an old boathouse into a unique and fun space to stay. We would definitely stay again if we return to the Cross Lake area.

The hosts, Katie and Curt, were very friendly and responsive. The hot tub on the patio was a big bonus. I also enjoyed relaxing in the hammock and watching the trolley go by through the woods ($3 to take the short historic ride). And just a few minutes to walk to Lake Harriet pavilion to take in some live music or walk around the lake. I’m excited to come back sometime for this relaxing get-away!

In need of a fun and flexible place to stay near some old college friend I returned to Airbnb to find this wonderful cabin! Worked out great, easy arrival, woke to great views of the river, coffee by the water…. Great way to enjoy my visit.

Was the most amazing spot!! Hosts were so kind and friendly as well, and everything is within a very quick drive! Would absolutely recommend. That view was the best part of the trip by far.

My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 nights to go fishing around the area and ended up staying at the resort the whole time! The fishery is top tier- even caught a trophy Perch!! The resort was very welcoming and peaceful. Plus the cabin was clean, cozy, with the perfect Up North appeal and everything we needed! Plus, we got to meet the host at our arrival and have questions answered! We look forward to coming back here!!

We loved Kristian and Joe’s place! It was absolutely amazing and the cutest little tiny home, which when checking in Joe informed us it was a converted office/ tiny home. You would never know, because it’s just so comfy and gives a cabin vibe! There’s lots of gear they provided that my partner and I got to use, specifically the canoe at sunset! Absolutely breathtaking and 10/10 would recommend and stay here again!

My stay at The Woodlands was exactly what I was looking for—quiet, cozy, and deeply restorative. The cabin has a peaceful, tucked-away feel that made it easy to unplug and settle into stillness. I spent the weekend journaling, reading, and just breathing, with no pressure to be anywhere but there. While there were tons of trails to hike and stars to gaze, I didn’t venture out much—sometimes the best kind of retreat is the one where you don’t feel the need to do anything at all if your content and coszy staying in. The space itself is thoughtfully laid out and incredibly comfortable, with just the right balance of rustic charm and intentional care. I’m so grateful for the chance to stay—it was exactly the reset I needed.

Agua Norte is the perfect getaway! Our stay at Tranquilo cabin was exactly what was promised. Just picture perfect. We enjoyed the sauna and the property trail. We visited Grand Marais, Grand Portage and even drove into Canada since we were so close. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, serene vacation.

The cottage was so charming--rustic, cozy, inviting. Stacey has created such a welcoming environment from all of the amenities to the recommendations to her beautiful yard. I would definitely stay here again!

Great tiny home that keeps you close enough to the city that going out for activities doesn’t feel like a hassle. Yet private enough that you feel like you’re in you’re own little world. Brad and Bri were responsive and flexible with check in and had a great book of suggested restaurants and activities. Easy check in and check out with a super clean kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. Great spot for a getaway with a significant other. 10/10 recommend!

We were looking for a peaceful retreat to relax and unwind for a few days. The modern updates, serene backdrop, and incredible spa experience we were immersed in were nothing short of incredible. We felt at home immediately upon arrival. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful outpost close to town yet tucked amidst the forest; a feeling of being out in the wilderness while still being a 15 minute drive into Ely. Owners live in the first building near the entrance. Cooking area and sauna were the next buildings on site, then the outhouse, then the tiny home. A few hiccups at check-in (host had the wrong date in mind so was not prepared for my arrival), but she was easy to talk to and we were able to resolve the small issues that arose during my stay. Rental unit is powered with a battery pack that the host replaces daily. All building sites are visible from the rental unit window, so not as much of a private "isolated in the woods" experience as I was anticipating, but most of the hours when I was in my room the grounds were devoid of any activity save for the wild animals. Coffee drinkers: The hot water kettle is not electric but for the stove. Being a pet-friendly rental is a huge PLUS! I look forward to returning again to this off-grid hideaway.

Very peaceful! We love camping and this airbnb gave that feel with added amenities. If we ever go back to the North Shore area, we would definitely stay here again.

This is our second visit, and it certainly won't be our last! This cabin is the ideal retreat for a weekend getaway. It's wonderfully cozy and equipped with every amenity you could wish for. Surrounded by amazing scenery, it truly is the perfect spot to disconnect and unwind. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to relax and recharge!

This was our 5th year of staying at Castaway in the spring. Love the area and the quiet peaceful lake. There are lots of golf courses and antique shops. There are plenty of local restaurants within a few miles. Vicky and John are very quick to respond for any needs or questions. It is a rare thing these days to receive the customer service and experience they give.

Very nice space. Clean, quiet, well stocked with snacks, cold sparkling waters, and even a cooler to borrow. Bed was comfortable and neighborhood was quiet. Highly recommend!

The Wykoff Jail Haus wad a delightful place to stay! Very comfortable accommodations and so much historical charm! Rebecca was very easy to communicate with and helpful. We will stay again.
