Vacation rentals with a kayak in Marlborough District

Paul’s house and setting matched our expectations from the listing. It was very clean, tidy, spacious, warm and nicely furnished. The lounge, dining and kitchen area looked out across the garden to the beach. Unfortunately it rained for most of our short stay so we didn’t take as much advantage of the outdoor setting and facilities as we might have otherwise done. Despite that our party of 4 adults and 3 children all enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very welcoming and were quick to answer any queries we had.

Ligar Bay is a fantastic spot, the changing tides provide so much diversity and interest - we kayaked, paddle boarded, walked and swam in the bay and at surrounding beaches and tracks. The house itself is very clean, with beautiful outlook and the garden is lovely. Furnishings and linen are very stylish and beds were comfortable. We found the lack of curtains/blinds a little challenging - there’s a skylight without a blind directly above master bed, one bedroom has no blind and the other had sheers, which provide privacy but no light. We love our sleep in holiday! We also missed having a dishwasher - some wouldn’t care. We appreciated all the pantry staples, great indoor and outdoor showers and water toys available for guests to use. A stunning place!

Annemarie and Chris’ place was so beautiful, truly heavenly. The kayaks were a great adventure for our girls! The artistic details and decor were incredible. Coffee was 🙌🏻. Will be back.

This was a great peaceful place to stay. It allowed us to spread out and enjoy the rural surrounds. The property exceeded our expectations and Alistair was very responsive. To our questions. The new outdoor baths were a favourite, as were the multiple parts of the deck to enjoy at different times of the day.

The house is older with the bathroom needing some attention. But it was very comfortable, in a great location; quiet and just across the road from the beach with an elevated outlook.

This place is a gem. We had such a great stay. The location was perfect, a beautiful part of the country and so peaceful. We enjoyed waking to the tui's in the trees out front. The house was cosy and had everything we need. Great host and very responsive. We will be back.

This house is amazing, comfy bed, great shower and bathroom, kitchen is well equipped for cooking. I would highly recommend. And will certainly be staying again.

River Road Retreat was a delight to stay at, and Peter and Rebecca lovely hosts. The cottage is beautiful, clean and in a gorgeous setting surrounded by fields, and with stunning views to the hills in the distance. We loved the welcome bottle of wine and yummy nibbles, as well as the delicious breakfast served every morning. The air is fresh and clean, the water absolutely pure, and after three days we’ve returned home refreshed and reenergised. Wonderful!! Big thanks from us!!!

Loved our stay here. It was wonderful being right across the street from the beach. The cottage is equipped with what you need, and the kayaks are an amazing bonus that we really enjoyed!

We had a great stay here when we had to abort our camping trip due to the wet weather. Tineke’s place was the perfect spot for us to continue exploring the beautiful Golden Bay region and the view out to sea even on a wet misty day was stunning. Tineke was super accommodating and very responsive, we will definitely be back.

We had a lovely long weekend staying at this cottage outside Mapua. The views were incredible out every window, we loved the woodstove in the evening, the bed was comfortable and it was so peaceful! It was a quick 5 minute drive to great coffee in Mapua (recommend the Java Hut!) and we explored the Abel Tasman, the Taste Trail and even used the cottage’s kayaks on the inlet. A great stay!

We had a great time in Mapua. John and Kim were absolutely lovely and gave us very good recommendations for activities. For example we could use their bikes to go to Rabbit Island. We also had fun using their canoe. The wharf with bars and restaurants is only a short walk from the house. We would definitely stay here again.

Me, my sis & dog loved our stay at David’s Airbnb! David was very helpful & welcoming. The airbnb was very tidy, warm and cosy. We had a long drive up as, we were driving from Invercargill so, to arrive with the stunning views this Airbnb gifts you felt very rewarding. Thanks!

What an Amazing place, was only there for a nights sleep but boy was it cosy and had more than expected essentials. Place was easy to find and there is such a beautiful view of the harbour with all the sail boats Had quick response from the host as well Would go there again for a longer visit.

Great spot 100m walk to the beach. Just down the road from the boat ramp. Had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. Super easy communication and instructions.

Jayne and William were warm and friendly and really took care of us. Right from the time of booking till the time they loaded up our luggage on the shuttle. Jayne was very proactive in giving us clear directions to find the place. she was very responsive while we were enroute to the cabin. The cabin itself is cozy, clean and well maintained. The basic amenities will be pretty much everything you require - a stove, compost toilet, and shower. We regret that we couldn't spend more time there and had to move on to our next post on the Queen Charlotte track. The location is spectacular and very close to the water so a quick dip or a kayak would be lovely in this place. All in all, a very pleasant time in a lovely place with wonderful people. Would recommend!
