Vacation rentals in Marion

This was a lovely weekend getaway location, very close to some of southern Illinois' natural wonders! The cabin provided a private and cozy space to stay, cook, and relax. We would love to visit again someday!

We stayed here while in town for a family graduation and it was a perfect spot to rest in between celebrations. The space was clean and comfortable, and the host was quick to respond to any questions we had. Great experience overall. Thanks Amanda for being a great host.

My husband I stayed at Linda’s adorable place on a cross-country move. We had driven 13 hours when we arrived and maps delivered us easily. The cottage (best word I can use to describe) was clean and filled with adorable vintage artistic items. My exhausted husband was willing to head into Carbondale for pizza and it was an easy trip there and back (16 mins. Each way). This was a wonderful oasis for us on our journey.

I loved my stay here! The cottage was very homey, light and airy, spacious. Had a big bathroom, open floor plan with the kitchen/dinig/living room areas leading to sliding doors that looked out the back to the beautiful horses in the pasture. Everything smelled good, the kitchen was well stocked, but no dishwasher, just like my home. Bed was very comfortable. Fast Wi-Fi (no cell coverage in this area). The a/c units worked well and were quiet & easy to control. I loved all the natural light coming in the numerous windows. Plenty of electrical lights and plugs. The best thing was the horses! When I got there, they seemed to be waiting for me in the backyard/pasture & they were greeting me when I woke up. Loved watching the sunset over the pasture with the horses! Definitely would stay here again!

Was a great place to spend a guys trip. We were able to grill out, sit outside on the deck, play yard games, and relax the rest of the night.

Alice's airbnb was very private and peaceful. I enjoyed seeing her animals, especially our sweet visit at the door by one of the roosters. The space was just big enough for my husband and I with our dog Toby. The place was very clean and the bed so comfortable. She's in a great location for you to see what all the Shawnee National Forest has to offer and so much more homey than a cabin. Some of my favorite areas to visit were the Garden of the Gods, Cave in Rock, Burden Falls, Iron Furnace, Dixon Springs, Chocolate Factory, and Garden of the Gods Outpost store had anything you could want. These are just a fraction of what there is to see in the area. We were able to see a lot. Brochures available were helpful. Favorite restaurant there is Shotgun Eddys. Great tasting food and big portions. The breakfast is the best as well as the fried fish. They have a bloody mary that's a meal in itself. I had the pleasure of meeting Alice and hope I get the chance to stay at her place again.

The cottage was such a great find! Joan sent detailed directions on getting to the cottage that were perfect (being the house is on a country road you might not be sure the GPS is taking you the right way, so Joan’s details really helped.) The area is quiet and beautiful and the cottage is exactly as it is pictured! We came to the area to run a marathon on the Tunnel Hill Trail and staying at the cottage was just perfect for us. The bed and bedding were so comfortable! Even though the cottage is located behind the main residence, we never heard or saw anyone. It was quiet and private. If we ever make it back to Vienna we will definitely stay at the cottage again.

This place is absolutely perfect! Our family cannot wait to go back! We will definitely book with Kevin and Mary again. Thanks again for sharing your perfect little getaway with us! Memories were made! 🤗

I booked this place for two nights to surprise my boyfriend on our week-long road trip from Chicago to Nashville. It was meant as just a stop, but it ended up being the highlight of our trip—we wished we had stayed the whole week! The dome exceeded our expectations. It was clean, well-stocked with everything we needed (utensils, towels, linens), and even had a cute s’mores kit waiting for us. Instructions were clear, and Kyle was responsive to any questions. The hot tub under the night sky was our favorite part—so peaceful and relaxing! We also went on a nearby hike with a waterfall and found there’s plenty to do in the area if you want to explore. A small local mart is nearby for essentials, and Walmart is about 20 minutes away if you need it. We were genuinely sad to leave and will absolutely recommend this spot to friends. We’re already hoping to return to this beautiful, peaceful dome!

My family of 3 had a wonderful stay at Nesher Cottage! It was a peaceful quiet space, which was exactly what we were looking for. It was a short drive to some beautiful hiking trails. and when we returned, the bathtub felt luxurious, and the beds with so many throw pillows were perfect for lounging. We especially enjoyed catching glimpses of hummingbirds through the window and watching fireflies from the front porch.

Our stay at this lake house was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the thoughtful touches and attention to detail. The living room’s large windows, provided breathtaking views of the lake. It had every appliance and utensil we needed, along with thoughtful extras like spices, oil, and coffee filters. The bathrooms were equipped with ample towels and toiletries. We enjoyed peaceful mornings on the deck, sipping coffee, cruising the lake, and watching the wildlife. The quiet surroundings made it easy to relax and unwind. We can’t wait to come back and stay again!!
