Running towards the interior of the island, other easy-to-reach destinations such as Piazza Armerina, with the famous Villa del Casale, or Caltagirone with its artistic ceramics. An ancient rock house perched on the rock walls of San Matteo hill, renovated and expanded to create a refuge from time, where you can forget about the outside world and immerse yourself in the memory and history of the place. Casa Corto Maltese has a shady and private fenced secret garden with 2 ancient caves and a terrace facing the entrance from which you can overlook the entire Scicli. The novel "The Stone Raven" by Marco Steiner was inspired by the rocky walls of this house.

While everything is easily reachable on foot, the house is set in a quieter, more peaceful area, away from the summer hustle and bustle of the center, where parking can often be a challenge.
