Vacation rentals with a kayak in Manitoulin Island

Loved our stay at The Firefly, it was the perfect place to spend a week. The whole property was beautiful, we felt right at home. Will definitely choose this property again if we are back to the area.

It's bare ground with slate like rocks at the entry making it a bit a challenge to walk for some of us older folks. We did mention that the tubs could use non skid strips and more of a grab bar for shorter folks near to the tub-shower combinations. Otherwise our stay was very enjoyable. The location is very beautiful. The cabin is well equipped with everything you will need. Plenty of available linens as well..

This is an amazing place if you want to take a break from everything and enjoy some beautiful, peaceful days. Mark and Victoria are fantastic hosts—thoughtful, welcoming, and well-organized. They even left some toys in the house, which made our son incredibly happy while playing. Although we were unlucky with the weather and couldn’t enjoy activities like canoeing or kayaking due to the wind, we still had a wonderful time. The house is very clean and cozy, and to be honest, it looks even better in person than in the pictures! Thank you, Victoria and Mark, for being such incredible hosts. We truly appreciated everything!

Christopher’s place is absolutely beautiful. Overlooking Mindemoya Lake, it’s nestled among tall trees and a serene landscape. The entire family are great hosts—very warm and helpful. Aside from the regular hosting essentials, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Greg was especially kind in teaching us how to start a fire for the fire pit, even providing some of their own firewood and fire-starting equipment. They also shared some excellent local recommendations and Sandra gifted our group a lovely children’s book written by Christopher’s wife, which was a thoughtful touch for the kids. One of the unexpected highlights was how incredible the place was at night—perfect for stargazing and astral photography. With minimal light pollution and a clear view of the sky, captured some unforgettable night shots and spent hours just watching the stars. I highly recommend their place as the first one to check if you’re planning a trip to Manitoulin Island.

Great place to stay, good quality cookware exc.. Snowmobile Trail is very close and easy to get on. Exactly what we were after. The place was clean and comfy.

We had an incredible stay at Bulloch’s Retreat! The place is absolutely amazing – spacious, clean, and beautifully designed for both relaxation and fun. One of the highlights for us was definitely the water activities – we thoroughly enjoyed every moment by the lake. Whether it was indoors or outdoors, there was plenty of room for everyone to gather, unwind, and make great memories. Highly recommend this place for families or groups looking for the perfect mix of comfort and adventure!

I highly recommend this cozy getaway! It was above and beyond our expectations. Plenty of games and amenities to keep you busy but also a lot of places to relax and read a book. If the sky is clear at night, the stars are beautiful. Host is very responsive, polite, and she made sure we had everything we needed.

Steph and Al are wonderful hosts. They are always quick to respond and have tons of information for those new to the island. Their cottage is stunning and incredible. It’s peaceful and exactly as described and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to stay there. We hope to return next year!

The location is so peaceful. A slice of paradise set up to enjoy the outdoors with great views, outdoor amenities (plenty of outdoor seating, fire pit, dock, etc). Great for stargazing and catching aurora too (facing north on the lake :)). Beautiful cabin. Pictures don’t do the property justice.

The place looked exactly like the photos and was a nice getaway if your looking for a cabin on the water. Was peaceful, enjoyable, and very very beautiful. Price is a little pricey but for what you get and the scenic views makes it worth it. Especially if you go as a group and divide up the costs. Would love to go back again sometime and would recommend this airbnb. Thanks again for hosting!

A true gem of a place. the location is breath taking with spectacular sunrises and sunsets. it has an authentic cozy cottage atmosphere. There were in the end only four of us so one bath room worked. The Bunkie was a great bonus space. we were here for a week of cycling and the location was central or a variety of loops and also very close to the amazing Cup and Saucer trail.

Spent 4 nights at this cottage on Manitoulin, such a good vibe. Super relaxing, cozy, and easy to settle into. The host was amazing and super accommodating. Perfect spot to unwind. Would 100% stay again.

We had an enjoyable stay at this cottage. Thomas was very helpful and it was an easy check in experience. We spent our evenings on the walkout porch overlooking the lake and listening to the wildlife. The location was secluded, safe and private. It’s a very nice location not too far from Sudbury. Overall, it was an amazing experience and would visit again.

We had an incredible time at this Airbnb. If you’re looking for a relaxing, remote experience, look no further. We enjoyed the hot tub, the comfortable beds and soft linens, beautiful forest for walks, and the fire pit for evening fires. I imagine during the warmer months it’s really nice to enjoy the lake as well which is right across the road. We had a really nice time and would definitely return. Thank you Mike and Meng!

Our family was here for a few days on our road trip. It’s definitely a more rustic cabin. But has amazing views and we definitely enjoyed kayaking and the beach. One thing that I didn’t realize before booking is this house is on land where other family is. We didn’t run into anyone (other than the step dad showing us around when we got there) but I feel it’s worth noting. The beach is on their property too. The house also had a lot of family photos and personal belongings. Which made it almost feel like you were staying in someone’s house. All and all, it was a good stay, just feel like these would be things that people may want to know.

We just got home from a wonderful week stay at Courtney’s place on MacGregor Bay. We can’t say enough great things about this place. Having a whole island to ourselves with a trail to hike, paddle boards to use, and all the amenities of home was exactly what we needed! The off grid living with a warm outdoor shower was a highlight…and the constant breeze off the bay will be missed! Our family of four all slept very comfortably. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and we were pleasantly surprised to find a blender and a salad spinner! 😉 We feel very lucky to have found this gem and hope to return again soon. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

Granary Lake Retreat is an amazing vacation spot for families with lots to do, and a easy going atmosphere. The hosts went above and beyond and the landscape is truly breathtaking. We'll be back.

We had never been to this area of Ontario before and always wanted to. Finding this location on the Bay met our requirements for cozy, rugged beautiful surroundings and some fishing. This location is a must visit if you are wanting a peaceful time away. Word of caution, if you are trying to get here on your own an electronic navigation device with charts is a must. I used my phone and the navionics app and we also had a good device on the boat so it was a breeze for us getting in and finding the island even with some misty rain on the way in. Sitting on the west side of the island looking down into west bay at the sunset with a drink was a highlight. Also catching a 20 pound pike was another highlight. Really appreciate this place meeting expectations. Plan on returning next fall for a similar adventure.

We had a rest with children in this wonderful place. Here so much care and comfort has been invested by the hosts. Everything is thought out to the smallest detail so that your rest will be great. Clean very comfortable. Incredible view from the window, great pleasure to watch the sunrise with such a view, drink coffee and enjoy the time spent in this wonderful place!
