Easy to get to everywhere from here and lovely local dog walks just across the road. This place is wonderful for dogs, even a nice spot for their beds in the utility room. Bert greeted us with a wonderful platter of cheese and biscuits and lovely fresh flowers, so kind.

Great spot. Beautiful gardens to sit in. Sea a short walk away and lots of options to walk the dog. We've had a wonderful week. Thank you.

Central but quiet, lovely cosy wee place. Decent parking was tricky to find maybe add it into welcome pack but she was amazing when we locked ourselves out with keys and my phone in flat!

A perfect spot for two. It’s a quirky place that showcases privacy, peace and stunning vistas. Robert was friendly, helpful and responsive.

We stayed in the Loft. It was fantastic and cozy fireplace, full kitchen and comfy beds. There is a sweet cat on site always looking for a head scratch and just down the road is a standing stone, sandy (I’ll be it cold lol) beach, and ruins just behind the church. Stunning location and amazing owners. They really care about what they do and are quick with support and enthusiasm for the area. Would happily book this place again and again.

Lynn’s place was perfect for our stay. We had a trip over to the Orkneys booked and her place was very convenient to get to the ferry. The home itself was well stocked and included a few extra goodies. Everything was beautifully presented being both clean and comfortable. She had a table of brochures of local attractions / interests also. Best of all tho, there were no steps to the bedrooms! Lynn is up there with the best as a host. Highly recommended to take up her offer of hospitality.

I spent 2 nights with my girlfriend in Ruth's accommodation and we were very satisfied overall. The property is wonderfully located to explore the area and city on foot. It was extremely clean, very well equipped and provided everything we needed for our stay; among other things for preparing meals. Self check-in and self check-out went smoothly and communication with Ruth was flawless. I highly recommend staying at the place!

The place to stay in the area. If it's free, book it. Perfect location with amazing sunsets over the water each night. Easy to get in and out of the driveway. Well stocked kitchen, excellent shower, the bed in the first room is super comfortable [only one used], and the sun room was perfect to relax in. Little garden out front for the dogs and a nice picnic table to eat outside. Overall a wonderful place.

Lounge/kitchen and bathroom downstairs, double bedroom upstairs, neat small garden and deck. Bright and airy, just like in the photos. Admirably clean throughout. Comfortable bed. Welcoming selection of books and games, also nice welcome pack of goodies. All kitchen staples were there, so no need to run to the shops for salt or Fairy liquid! The weather forecast was iffy, so Cathy provided logs and kindling for the log burner. It turned out that they were not needed: the heat pump did its job. We loved the cottage and St Margaret’s Hope, a small sleepy village near the ferry terminal. The cottage might not be suitable for more elderly guests as the stairs up to the bedroom are quite steep. The village might be too small and sleepy for others. Top marks for us though.

Evelyn’s cottage was excellent. Exactly as described, in a great location, with comfortable beds and living room and well equipped bathroom and kitchen. This is exactly what we wanted and we had a great week’s stay there. Thank you Evelyn.

Perfect for our holiday visiting family. Very quiet at night which I appreciate, but close to the sea and all amenities. Martyn very welcoming to his comfortable spotlessly clean apartment. Would recommend.

My friends and I loved the space and light and comfort of the Kirk. We came all the way from Norfolk on trains and ferries and fell in love with the land and seas and community of Hoy. The peace is deep here ... no background hum. I love to see the sea around me. We cycled over to Rackwick Bay which was exhilarating and went to cafe church at Emily's which was connecting. Difficult to find words good enough to praise this accommodation, it was so perfect. Spacious, light, very clean and comfortable, plus with the most stunning of sea views. We were very sad to leave it. The area of that part of Orkney is well worth exploring and we discovered a lot of places we had not known about. Helen herself is an extremely friendly and helpful person and provided a basket of treats for our arrival.

Sammy’s place is very beautiful, you feel right at home. The photos don’t do it justice! Very holy, clean, comfortable and peaceful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Extremely spacious and beautifully designed rooms, a unique garden, and everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The location is ideal, we could easily reach sites in all corners of the mainland by car, and there are some interesting walks around Roseness. Rebecca was an excellent host, really friendly and thoughtful.
