The Carriage House

Great place for a getaway for two. Patio area and garden offer lovely views across Ullswater to the surrounding hills. Kitchen well equipped, lounge comfy to read/watch TV, loft style bedroom cosy. We enjoyed great weather so were able to enjoy breakfast on the terrace each morning before heading off to walk / tour around the northern lakes. We would stay here again :)

Charming handy for Lake District

This was one of our favourite stays during our trip of the Lake District. The cabin has everything you need and we loved the private garden. It’s a short drive to popular towns and is only a short walk to the local pub. We’d highly recommend!

Timeless setting in the Lake District

DinahRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We knew we were going to love this place from the moment we drove up to the farm! Alice and her lovely dogs greeted us warmly on arrival! The barn is beautifully equipped and decorated with very tasteful and thoughtful touches. We immediately felt at home there. The view from the exterior of the barn is simply stunning and there is a lovely little orchard where you can sit and relax listening to the birdsong. There are beautiful walks from the doorstep and the village of Askham is a short drive away and walkable. Askham is a very attractive village with two good food pubs, an open air swimming pool and a little grocery shop and cafe. We are delighted to have found this little gem in a very beautiful and unspoilt part of the world and thoroughly recommend it. Alice and George are stand-out hosts, really friendly and helpful. Thank you for a fabulous stay.
