Cottage vacation rentals in Lanchester

We had a lovely couple of days at Laburnum Cottage, it’s a beautiful cottage and location. Hopefully we’ll get back one day.

Genuinely amazing little place to stay, in a beautiful part of the world. We were even greeted with a lemon drizzle cake :) 10/10 would recommend!

Julia was a brilliant host from booking until check out! The cottage was absolutely stunning and so was the surrounding areas. Julia was very friendly and helpful, we went as a group of work friends and was being a little too loud without realising, Julia was understanding and just politely asked if we could quieten a little outside due to neighbours, to which we apologised and enjoyed our night. I would definitely return in the future, hopefully with the family for a longer stay. Thank you so much Julia!!!!!

Thanks Ben, we had a great weekend at Stanley Cottage. We really appreciated all the thoughtful touches, dog treats, human treats, phone chargers, hair straighteners, bathroom products!! The cottage was very comfortable and the hot tub a welcome pause, thank you.

Back at Ivy Cottage again, we had another great stay. We love the hut tub and pool table, and plenty of space for everyone. Thanks Jane.

We enjoyed a great break in Peewit Cottage, which was spotless and had everything you need. The surroundings were well looked after and amenities great. The little touches, including the welcome pack (best we’ve had and included the dog!) and Prosecco and strawberries to enjoy in the hot tub were thoughtful and lovely. All the information you need is provided prior to arrival or readily available within the cottage. We used the cottage as a base to visit local attractions, all easily accessible by car. Glen was both very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend and somewhere we would return to. Thank you, Jacqueline!

We spent two lovely nights in the butterfly cottage. Bruce and Anita were gracious and helpful hosts, providing information and suggestions about what to do and where to go. Walks from the cottage were abundant when weather permitted. Treats left by Anita were appreciated and devoured! Cottage was clean, warm, comfortable and cozy. We will come back if we are traveling in the area again. Highly recommend butterfly cottage.

Easy walk into Corbridge town centre and its cute pubs. A nice little pub just around the corner. Easy access to all the sights we wanted to see, especially the Roman ruins and Hadrian’s wall. We also took a trip to Durham which is a great town to visit.

Perfect! Exactly what we wanted, the cottage was pristine and equipped to a high standard with everything you need. Although dogs are welcome you would never know that a dog had been anywhere near. The location is secluded and peaceful with great views with horse stables next door and horses in the field. Swallows nesting in the stables constantly flying around. The enclosed garden is ideal for dogs to wander freely safely. Joanna is a great friendly host responsive and only too happy to help. Would highly recommend!

Cosy little cottage with all mod cons. Fiona has thought of everything that you might need including art materials for children and enough DVDs to stock a shop. Really well situated to explore the town and the castle.

We had a lovely stay! The place was tidy, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. We did experience a couple of minor issues, like some sockets not working and a brief problem with the hot water boiler. However, the host was extremely helpful and quick to respond, and everything was sorted out promptly. Really appreciated the support — it made all the difference. Would happily recommend this place to others!

Lovely cozy cottage on a farm with a beautiful view from the veranda. Kind, hospitable hostess Susan had provided everything we needed and was a joy to chat with. My cat and I had a fabulous time exploring the grounds together. We would definitely stay again.

The Garden Rooms is a fantastic, well-equipped and comfortable holiday home with everything outside could possibly need for your stay. The outdoor area is outstanding, with beautiful, established garden, ample outdoor seating and the fabulous yurt for indoor barbecues when it's too chilly to sit out. The location is superb and Vanessa is a warm friendly and responsive host. We'd love to return.

We stayed overnight to break a journey and the Henhouse was perfect to rest in after a long drive and busy work day. It felt like we turned a corner and found ourselves looking at a lovely view with a nice village feel. Local pub was good for drinks and really well priced but food not to our taste so we drove into Durham for a Turkish meal. Good vibe in the Arkasu . We didn’t meet John and communicated only for instructions as everything we needed was there. Would stay again .

The perfect place for a weekend getaway! Lots of great places to see in the area. Addy’s cottage had everything we could have needed and more. We made good use of the fully equipped kitchen but had some great recommendations for places to eat out nearby too. The cottage is a clean and cosy space and we couldn’t have asked for more! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

What a great house, had everything we needed, is modern but still cosy, great pizza place (knead a slice) nearby, and fab tea room on the square. Beautiful local walks - deer park, binchester roman fort by the river. Thoroughly recommend and highly enjoyable!

Spacious and comfortable cottage ideal for a couple in a pretty village by the moors. We enjoyed visiting the surroundings including the city of Durham and Beamish Open Air Museum as well as castles and countryside. On street parking was no problem as we always parked in front of the cottage.

We (2 adults + 2 children) stayed at High Pastures cottage from 14 Nov - 21 Dec 2024 whilst waiting for our onward house purchase to complete. From the outset Peter was responsive and flexible with our changing itinerary which was much appreciated. The cottage was exactly what we needed - the kitchen has all the modern accessories you'd expect and the living room was spacious and always warm despite being in rural surroundings over the winter. The views from the cottage are breath taking and there are some great walks from the cottage right into the middle of beautiful countryside. Within a couple of minutes drive there are great pubs and restaurants. 20 mins drive east you have Newcastle and 20 mins drive west you have Hexham. We were able to continuing living our lives as normal (my wife and I commuting to work - Newcastle and Sunderland) and the children continuing at their schools. We're hugely grateful to Peter and his wife for making this possible for us. Thank you!

Lovely house in peaceful and tranquil surroundings. Close enough to Hexham to not make shopping a chore. Great coffee shops in Corbridge and Hexham. Two fab breweries nearby - Twice Brewed and First and Last were the icing on the cake.

Great Airbnb, very clean, with good facilities, very comfortable, perfect for two, with the benefit of secure parking behind electric gates. We used it to visit our son and girlfriend in Newcastle over a weekend. Our hosts were fantastic with communication, giving great directions and always responding promptly to our messages. A welcome gift of food essentials was waiting for us on arrival (bread milk eggs etc), which was a lovely touch. Located outside Newcastle, this was ideal for us and a short Uber trip into the city was less than £8, far better than the hassle of driving and paying for parking. Additionally, Low Fell had plenty of places for eating and drinking and was only a 10 minute walk from the accommodation. Will definitely use this Airbnb in the future if visiting Newcastle. We cannot reccomend a stay at capheaton estate highly enough. A beautiful cottage, with comfortable and luxurious finishing touches in incredibly peaceful surroundings, responsive and helpful hosts. Such a wonderful place to relax, away from the busy world, but close to some great pubs and within reach of key attractions. Would happily stay again.

A well equipped house with character which was a great place to spend a week exploring the south of Northumberland. The house has character, is in a quiet spot on a hill overlooking fields and is well equipped. John was there if we needed him and always chatty and helpful when. We'd definitely stay again!
