Cabin vacation rentals in Lake Pontchartrain

We had a wonderful stay! The place is clean, convenient, and above all super cozy. The location was stunning, with beautiful views of the water and plenty of space to relax. We spent our day running catfish lines and were thrilled to catch 20 catfish! The hosts were incredibly welcoming and provided all the necessary amenities to make our stay comfortable. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with great fishing opportunities, I highly recommend this place!

We loved our stay at the Moonrise Haven cabin! Honestly my favorite part was waking up and being able to go sit on the back porch and watch the lake. It was my first time going to Hammond and I was actually surprised to learn they have a very active weekend night life. We enjoyed the restaurants and bars. As for the hosts, they really are great at messaging you with instructions. They tell you everything before you even get there, I didn't even have any questions. They even gave me updates about the state of the pool and when it was being cleaned and whatnot without me having to ask. We would love to come back to Hammond and would love to stay here agian when we attend the Ponchutula Strawberry Festival every year.

While my daughter and I enjoyed our stay here, this would be a GREAT place to bring your whole family! This was the best-stocked Airbnb kitchen I have ever seen as far as appliances, cookware, utensils, even sippy cups and a high chair! The whole place was an awesome time capsule--like grandma's house. Little "extras" all around house. Patio had a grill AND a smoker. Both indoor and outdoor games on hand. Life jackets for the kayak and pedal boat for the lake also on hand. Lots of fun to be had here! Jessie is very easy to communicate with. Rural setting. Closest town is about 20 mins. Highly recommend!

The location was exactly what we were looking for. Everything was clean and comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay in Jean Lafitte. The surrounding area felt very safe and secure. We could not get over the beautiful surroundings. My kids had a blast fishing and learning how to use a casting net. Julie was the icing on the cake for this trip. We had a bad storm while we were staying there and she checked on us to make sure we were ok. She made sure we had everything we needed and she even blessed our daughter with a Christmas present. We would love to stay here again!

We ( myself and 2 of my friends) stayed here for a dog sports event nearby and David was very generous to let us stay, and include our 9 total dogs. Cozy little cabin with all of the amenities and we had a great stay.

David was a great host with great communication. Would stay at David’s again and would recommend to others.

Staying at David's property is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to relax and enjoy time with family. Traveling from Brandon, Florida, to Bogalusa, Louisiana, is a big change, but it’s definitely worth it. The property is very family-friendly, with something for everyone—from toddlers to young adults—and plenty of room for adults to unwind, socialize, or even get some work done. I highly recommend David's place; both the staff and other guests are friendly, respectful, and helpful.

The cabin is located in a tranquil rural setting, and the hosts are friendly and easy to get in touch with. Both the Bogue Chitto State Park and supermarkets and restaurants are a relatively short 30-minute drive away. We enjoyed our stay here!

We had a program in New Orleans on a very tight schedule. Nick was accommodating to everything we needed, even finding a place to put our bags since we could not wait until check-in but didn't want to take everything into the city. The space is not fancy but cozy and comfortable - what you should think when you think 'cabin.' Since it's at a campground, if you have an EV you can bring along your portable L2 and rent a separate stall for less than a commercial EV plug-in. Good experience, though our schedule didn't allow for more than sleeping and getting up the next morning.

If you are in the mood for a private, relaxing, peaceful, and beautiful stay right next to some very beautiful nature, then this is the place for you and your family. The cabin is really awsome and full of character and has a very comfy and cozy aspect to it as well as a giant window in the living room where you can look out at some beautiful scenery. You can walk out onto the underside deck and swing while looking at the water and wildlife up under a great big cypress tree. It really is gorgeous out there. You are just a short ride to a couple of cities for if you need any amenities. Also, Steve was great! He is a very responsive host that made sure everything was good just after arrival and made sure to let us know if we needed anything. I HIGHLY recommend you staying at LuLu's Loiuisianne Cabin. We loved it!

Celena's cabin was exactly what I needed for my stay. I loved the peace & quiet, the decor was the cutest ever, & I hated to leave! It felt like home & was so peaceful the moment I walked in the door. I would love to book again the next time I visit family in the area. Celena was so helpful during booking, and she was very responsive the entire process. I hope to return soon!

We had such an awesome weekend here. Everyone was so nice and so many activities. Something for everyone and got us all off our devices and playing like we were little kids again. Not overcrowded for a spring break weekend either. We will def be back!

The place was great! The couches are really comfortable, the beds are firm but springy so it’s really comfortable. It’s 30 mins to New Orleans but there really isn’t traffic and for the price and the amount of beds it’s really worth it. There was some confusion about WiFi but it was figured out but the host was fast responding and helpful. The dock is really nice, every morning while the group got ready I would go out and sit on the swing benches and watch the water. 10/10 stars
