First of all, I would like to express my greatly thanks to Chisato さん for his help, care, cooking, driving, touring etc. not just my guesthouse host but more like a sincere friend, like my grandpa, like my family member! I’m really surprised that Chisatoさんhelp me plan all the things and give a clear instructions even drive us to tour his hometown—Sendai (Yamagata), really unforgettable and pleasant experience!! Also Chisatoさん’s cooking is best! And healthy! Make me try good home-made Japanese food and change my impression of そば、ramen:) let me know more about Japan, know more about Japanese culture!! One o the most pleasure I wanna share is his house, once he opened the door, I feel like I came back home with warm, cozy light and atmosphere, comfort bed, clean house, tidy room…everytime when I slept on the soft bed, I feel at home❤️also, I really enjoy making friend with him, though maybe we are in different generations, but through him, I see the different cultures and generation! Thx

Farm stay, BBQ, Walk with dog ,Farming experience

This is the best Airbnb I have stayed in so far. It was a honor to stay in the Japanese countryside with Yoshihide and his mom. Both of them are extremely kind and helpful people. Yoshihide speaks amazing English, but if you wanted to practice your Japanese with him, he is happy to do that and his mom too. I got picked up from Yatagawa station and Yoshihide was very flexible with timing. I was impressed with the grand tatami room with a wide variety of amenities, like hot water kettle, fridge, and microwave. My room was very specious with a great heater and bed, and a great work space. The bed was comfy too. As for the surroundings I love the lush green valleys and trees, and I was happy to walk Faith (Dog) in the middle of the Japanese countryside. Even though it rain during my stay, it was. still very magical to see the landscape. I really enjoyed my conversations with Yoshihide and his mom, and the breakfast and BBQ are so worth it to pay extra. I wish I could of stayed for longer

Western-style room with a view of Jizo-do with a red roof from the Japanese garden

Wow what a stay! My mom has spent a month here, a beautiful, authentic, peaceful Japanese countryside lifestyle, Toshio and his family provided above and beyond service here, the gourmet homemade breakfast, the free car service, if you look for serenity in a real Japanese home, look no further, you will feel the hospitality in a very modest way that I have lots respect for. Toshio San, I wish running this business will bring you enormous satisfaction like what you and your family did for my mom. Rebecca

The Traditional Japanese house with cats. Yohei Cat House

JillianRating, 5 stars1 month ago
I had a great stay at Yoshiko’s place! She had good instructions for getting to Tashiro (Cat) Island as well as lots of pamphlets for other areas around Ishinomaki. Her cats were very sweet and friendly and the place itself was very clean and quiet. The neighborhood has lots of good restaurants within walking distance as well as memorial sites for the 2011 tsunami. Yoshiko had good local recommendations and even drove me to the station at the end of my stay. Thank you for the great stay!
