Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Islay

We had a wonderful stay in a wonderful house. House was located just outside Port Ellen, nice walking distance to the town. We were met by the host, and was given a tour of the house on arrival. The house was spacious with large bedrooms, a modern, well equipped kitchen and a great view of the sea. Ardbeg, Lagavulin and Laphroaig distilleries are located close by, we took a taxi to Ardbeg and walked back to the house visiting the other two as we passed them. The taxi driver was recommended to us by the host, and he turned out to be one of the friendliest and helpful taxi drivers we've come across. He drove us around half the island one of the other days, and was a great guide as well. The company is called Bodachs Islay Taxi, and Amazing Arthur as we called him is also highly recommended! We highly recommend this property to anyone planning a trip to Islay!

Charming home oozing with history and character. The comfortable furnishings made for a cozy stay, and we loved the authentic touches throughout. Watching the lambs graze around the property was such a delightful experience—truly a peaceful and picturesque retreat. Highly recommend for anyone looking to escape to a charming, rural setting with a touch of history.

We had a lovely stay at Braeside. Great location, easy parking outside and close to facilties. Spacious and very comfortable for 2 people. We would return! We did have to top up the electric and buy essentials like toilet roll, tea and coffee, however we were offered a reimbursement which was appreciated. The coop opposite is well stocked and open 7-10 daily and there were lots of essentials in the cupboards. If you're arriving during day time hours then you'll have no issue picking up what you need. We would have liked more info after check in, like what part of the garden we could use, but the hosts were responsive to messages. Overall a great stay, good value and keen to return! Thank you!

Isabelle nous a accueilli chaleureusement et a été disponible et à l'écoute. Le logement est spacieux et très bien équipé et nous nous sommes sentis comme à la maison. l'environnement est fabuleux et la vue sur la baie est splendide sous le soleil d'Islay. Le logement est idéalement situé pour visiter l'île et prendre les petites routes pour decouvrir des lieux magnifiques et les fameuses distilleries d'Islay. très bonne adresse que nous recommandons sans aucune hésitation.

Vi var til Feis Ile whisky festival, og denne bolig ligger rigtig godt til det formål. Bussen holder næsten lige uden for døren, hvilket gjorde det let at komme rundt. Huset har alt hvad man har behov for. Specielt det store spisekøkken satte vi pris på. Patrick er meget hurtig til at reagere, hvis man får brug for hjælp. Bestemt anbefalelsesværdigt. Vi vil helt sikkert gerne bo her igen.

We enjoyed a lovely week at Muran cottage. We were very lucky with the weather which allowed us to make the most of the fantastic location

Our stay at Clachan was a part of a broader trip around Scotland and our stay exceeded expectations and we certainly could have stayed longer. Wonderful little village with picturesque walks, easy trips to the various beaches and close proximity to the island ferry's. Navigation to local villages was easy with so much to see and do. The cottage had everything we needed, was very cosy and comfortable and we were blessed to have such wonderful hosts. We would highly recommend to others

Had a nice stay after a last minute booking as I had to be there last minute. Booked a larger place as was unsure how many family members would be attending. Booked originally for 4 people but the number increased to 7. Michelle managed this and amended my booking for me. Only slight downside would be that the addition of 3 people made the booking approx £50 more expensive which turned turned this from being a fantastic deal to a very reasonable one

We had a lovely stay at Katrina’s, what a wonderful location! Very comfortable apartment, had everything that we needed. Katrina met us and showed us around and shared some wonderful tips for finding the best beaches, restaurants, spotting the seals and pirates!

Lea’s place is great. I am an Airb&b user and her place was one of the best. Very clean and organised. Large apartment near the city centre. All the instructions you need easy to understand and free on street parking. I would give her 10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if they would be available. If you want to book the place, just do it! Although my stay was for work, it's made more palatable with great accomodation. Comfortable, quiet, warm, clean, well equipped & a great location to tour Islay. Comfy bed & well equipped kitchen. Outside parking is great ( tho the universal law for parking wherever you want during school times never ceases to anaze me as people parked left, right & indeed centre (right in front of the step's to the apartment)) My only minor point would be the TV is rather small & antiquated, especially for the size of the living room. The TV remote was a tad temperamental. The host is superb & I wouldn't think twice about booking again. Highly recommended!

Five out of five across the board! Place was well-appointed, modern clean finishes. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms with eat-in kitchen and cozy, relaxing lounge. Within easy walking distance of basically everything! Highly recommend. 💯

A truly outstanding place to stay, well within reach of everywhere on Islay if one is driving around. Nicola was an extremely attentive host and had a super friendly welcome in place for us. The place was spacious, comfortable and tastefully furnished. Nicola also runs the Craigard Kitchen café next door and her scones fresh from the oven in the morning are unmissable.

Great flat in Campbeltown—clean, comfortable, and perfectly located! It’s right next to Cadenhead Distillery and just a short walk to restaurants and other local spots. We stayed overnight on our way to Islay, but loved it so much we’re already planning to come back and explore more of the area.

Had a great stay at the old loft, was a great location just 5 mins from Campbelltown and a short drive to the golf courses. Accommodation was very clean, beds were extremely comfy and had everything needed for our stay. Jackie was a great host, can't recommend enough.

Laura and William's place is pretty much at the centre of Campbeltown, and is a short walk to all the places we wanted to visit - which are mainly Springbank Distillery, Cadenhead's shop, and the Ardshiel hotel. They were also very accommodating - we had trouble figuring out how the stove worked and William was very kind to pick up a call late at night. We really appreciate it! Thank you and would love to stay again the next time we visit Campbeltown!

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting. Well equipped for self catering and very welcoming / tastefully decorated self contained and private apartment.

Cosy accommodation in stunning surroundings. The view from the bedrooms and garden is gorgeous. The beds are extremely comfortable and the shower excellent. Well-equipped kitchen. Red squirrels and lots of garden birds including a woodpecker. Helen and Mark are great hosts. Very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely lovely place and the hosts are delightful, flexible, and helpful. Location is beautiful and the suite is cozy and spacious. Make sure to get the breakfast! It's delicious and the best full breakfast we had in Scotland! If we're ever back in this area again, we will definitely stay again! :)

This lovely flat is a gem! So comfortable and with many thoughtful touches. It’s in an excellent location, easy to access, and is sparklingly clean. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Kevin’s communication was excellent too.
