Vacation rentals with lake access in Island of Hawai'i

A unique experience! We loved feeling like we were living in a private jungle – the plantings are stunning and offer a great sense of privacy even though the neighbors are actually nearby. You will hear the sounds of the island (frogs, chickens, music) but for us that was a plus. This location gave us great access to some places we hadn't explored on previous trips. Definitely take care with any food or crumbs left out in the kitchen, as the tiny ants arrive quickly : )

Awesome stay at Hale Hamakua! We had a large group of us come from Oahu, Maui, and Kona to celebrate a 30th birthday! Plenty of beds, spacious kitchen, and scenic lanai. Drive to Hilo takes a bit (around 30 min one way) but very worth it for the seclusion and view. We would stay here again!

Large beautiful house that looks exactly like the pictures. Great space for 6 adults. The company was very friendly, responsive, proactive and helpful. I was impressed with them. Fantastic place if you just want to get away somewhere private. The porch and widow’s watch were fantastic. But be advised there are no shades on the windows, no AC and loud roosters that get started waking up the neighborhood around 5am. So plan to get up early since you won’t have a choice. You’ll need to get out early anyway since this area is pretty far out of the way and it’s a 30-60 minute drive to tourist activities.

We enjoyed our stay at Hawaii Life Rentals! Downtown Hilo was a short drive away and the place was quiet and peaceful. The 6 of us were comfortable in this rental and we also cooked a couple of meals during our stay here. Would recommend this place for families visiting Big Island

Recommend this place again. The upstairs bed was a little hard but so far everything was amazing.

This place was perfect for our 6 adult family plus a 5 month old. The kitchen is well stocked with more small appliances and gadgets than most places. The outdoors has many different areas to retreat to. But the upper deck, my my my, what a view!!! A great place to start your day with coffee and catch the sunset with your favorite beverage. This property also provided gear for the beach like towels, umbrellas, ice chests, and fun gear for kids… a wonderful surprise. Heidi was an amazing host who communicated promptly and was very accommodating. I highly recommend this place and would definitely go back.

We felt right at home! Great space, clean, comfortable and a sweet hot tub!!! Jolanta was responsive and so nice!!! Would highly recommend. We got so lucky to see Kīlauea erupting! Being so close by was amazing!!! Mahalo, Charlotte & Josh

This house was great for us, very comfortable. It's located really close to the big resorts so there are restaurants and shopping close by. The kitchen was well-equipped, and its SO nice to have a full kitchen and washer/dryer on a tropical vacation. The beds were comfortable, great back yard. WIFI was great. Communication with Alice was easy and fast. I would recommend this house!

The apartment was amazing! Clean, quiet and comfortable with a view you can't beat!

My stay at this Airbnb in Hilo was delightful! The condo was spotless and well-stocked, including laundry supplies—a nice perk, though the laundry itself was pricey (app payment made it easy). The landscaping was breathtaking, with bamboo, palm trees, and waterways featuring waterfalls, plus ducks and fish adding charm. The pool was clean, but the chairs were worn, and there were no lawn chairs or tables. Inside, the seating was outdated and uncomfortable, though the AC units kept it cool. I’d suggest updating the poolside and indoor furniture. Despite these minor issues, it was a memorable stay—I’d return!

It was a perfect location for our Merrie Monarch trip! The place was clean and kitchen was well equipped. The complex was safe with security elevator and security personnel on site. Communication was spot on with check in instructions, quick responses, etc. thank you for a great experience. Mahalo nui

First time visiting the big island and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay ! Flew out here for my birthday and my oh my did I get lucky by finding this place. You can walk to the beach for a serene morning which is a plus (can also get fresh coconut juice and the best poke bowls by the beach). Or if you’re feeling more night like Ali drive is just less than a 10 min drive away ! Beyond the location the space itself is everything you could ask for and more ! On site laundry, air conditioning, and a coffee maker (my favorite part). A long with countless other essentials, definitely didn’t need to pack as much as I thought. Very thankful to Yoko for being such an amazing host, I will be returning ! (hopefully soon) 🖤

The perfect place for a quick trip to Hilo. We would stay there again.

Wonderful place. Check in was a little confusing as I had not understood that you cannot park at Ocean Towers but also do not need to check in at the main lobby at Hilton. However, everyone was very helpful. The apartment was updated and very welcoming. Great bed and great bathroom. Amazing views from the Lanai and for the most part of the day not in direct sun which is perfect to just hang out and watch the whales.
