Location Opened in May 2024. Located in the heart of Takayama's historic district, Makoto-ya Ojin is a stylish inn in 1-chome, Ojin-cho, Takayama City, where the good old Japanese landscape remains. In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall). The place name "Teppo-Machi" derives from the fact that many "Teppo-Ashigaru" who served the owner of Takayama Castle once lived there. Tourist attractions such as the Old Town, Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, Morning Market, and Takayama Bettei are all within walking distance. Enjoy a slow stay at Kagura, a popular old house roastery cafe. It is also great as a sightseeing access point for Kanazawa, Nanao, Noto, Toyama Prefecture, Himi, Takaoka, etc. This price is based on two people, so it is the same price for one or two people. About this area, Recently it has been certified as a UNESCO Global Geopark.There are national parks, ski resorts, hot spring Places ,organic restaurants and cafes nearby. It is also about 30 minutes to Kanazawa, and has good access to the World Heritage Site and Shirakawa-go. I have Eabikes, , so even if you don't have a car, you can enjoy this area. You can easily access to all attractions where most of tourist visits, i.e. Kenrokuen garden, Kanazawa Castle park, Omicho Fish Market or Higashiyama Chaya District.
