Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Iowa

This is a beautiful old home kept in great condition. It was cozy, spacious, and comfortable!

We needed a place to get off the road on short notice and we were fortunate to find this beautiful historic place to lay our heads. Kari was friendly and her inn was well appointed. I wish we had time to examine all the historical info and visit the beer barn. We had a peaceful quiet night.

Barbara was a delightful and attentive host. She was very friendly and responsive to questions. I especially appreciated the flexibility she was able to give us with check-in and check-out times. We stayed in three of her rooms (Madrid, Venice, and Vienna), and the were all stunning. The continental breakfast was as delicious as it was beautiful. I recommend this wonderful B&B without reservation, and look forward to future stays!

We loved our stay. Ms.Lona was very friendly and had coffee made in the mornings. She also made muffins and cinnamon rolls for us. My only suggestion is that she makes it clear in the description that cats do live in the home. Even though she has an air purifier she uses and it works great, had my son been scared of cats like he was in the past, it would have made a very unpleasant stay.

Paula was kind and helpful. My bedroom was lovely with an en suite private bathroom and comfy bed and recliner. It’s quiet in the country. She also provided a delicious breakfast and was flexible with last minute changes to my check in.

We loved our stay here. It was a beautiful home that was close to the main street and attractions. We were even able to walk to the Rubiyat restaurant and enjoy an evening stroll. The bed was comfortable and the room was perfect for the two of us. Melissa made a delightful breakfast and the most delicious pumpkin scones. My only regret was I didn't stuff more in my pockets. :) Check in was easy and there was no problem getting in. We did end up leaving before breakfast on our last day and hadn't received check out instructions before hand. We sent a text and got a quick response although we had already left. The stay was more expensive than we would normally like to spend, we have stayed at other bed and breakfasts and paid much less. We imagine the prices were inflated because there was an event in town.

Our stay in Shelley’s guesthouse was absolutely wonderful! The property and guesthouse was beautiful inside and out, clean, comfortable and quiet. Shelley and her husband make a delicious breakfast in the morning that is second to none. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone, so much more than expected and so much cozier than a hotel.

Great place to stay. Excellent food, both breakfast and dinner. Room was clean and just as pictured. We had access to many other rooms in the house. Even with other guests in the house, the room was quiet and peaceful. My favorite thing was the wonderful conversations with our hostess.

Barb and Jeff’s home is absolutely stunning. It’s like walking into a better homes and gardens or Martha Stewart magazine. Loved all the attention to detail in the rooms, at breakfast, and the general area. We appreciated access to coffee/tea/hot chocolate and bottled water as well. The grounds are lovely and wish we’d had more time to enjoy the fire pit and gardens! Breakfast was amazing and liked that she even made some things that were native to the area. Fresh herbs in the water and lavender everything 💜 Thank you for restoring this beautiful home, and giving it your whole heart! Loved the lavender to take with (and the seeds). Thanks so much for having us stay!

We needed a place to stay and the price was better than paying for 2 hotel rooms. We stayed in the Elisabeth room suite. Beds were very comfortable. Plenty of room. Loved the whole place. The house is gorgeous.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience staying here. It was an amazing little “cabin in the woods” atmosphere and so cozy. Rebecca was so very gracious to give me a tour of her lovely gardens!! Would DEFINITELY stay again!!

Comfy place in town close to a number of hiking trails. Communicated quickly and was flexible with check-in. Gave great recommendations for places to eat as well as sights to see. House is a stunning 1800's home and I enjoyed reading out on the back wrap around porch. Neighborhood was quiet and relaxed. Glad I found Michelle's place for a weekend get away. Definitely will visit again next time I am down to visit the area and stay a bit longer.

The host was able to accommodate a last minute reservation on a Saturday night when every hotel in town was full after my wife and daughters hotel reservation got messed up and left them stranded. The host immediately called me after I booked the trip and drove over to the property to get a room ready for them. The room was nice and there was plenty of amenities (the host even went and stocked up on food for them). They really saved the day so my family could make it to their dance competition in the morning. Highky recommend. Thank you so much!
