Entire 2nd floor/Comfortable and quiet traditional house, "Guesthouse Kokuminmachi Kayanoki"

ThomasRating, 5 stars1 month ago
A huge thank you for the welcome! We felt welcomed like family. The place is beautiful and breakfast was amazing with fresh homemade 🍞 bread. Our only regret is that we didn't plan time to spend with our hosts who have a lot to say. They are people with a beautiful and rich history. Thanks!

Everything was cute and stylish, and I enjoyed the wood stove and bonfire, there were several kerosene stoves, the water pressure in the shower room was good, the futons were warm, the kitchen was well equipped, and I enjoyed it very much! Thank you very much. We'd love to stay there again if we get the chance.

japanese kominka from 1925, 3min walk from station

Thank you for the warm welcome, even though we didn't speak the same language, we communicated a lot through scattered words and translation software. In addition, Xin also provided me with a lot of help: when I came, I was not clear about how the tram operated here, Xin explained in detail how to deal with it; when I learned that there was a hot spring in the local area, Xin was also very enthusiastic about driving to pick me up; the Mapo tofu for dinner was also very delicious, and for someone born in Sichuan, I couldn't find much fault. Obviously, the younger generation is very reliable, and I highly recommend staying here!

Staying at a guest house "Otaki Yokocho" 2-chome/A DIY building full of blank spaces

GilaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Otaki is a hidden gem nestled in the mountains. Pristine beauty. Ai's place is an easy relaxed space with plenty of room. There's a large very well equipped kitchen with absolutely everything you'd need. The village is small so it was easy to get to his place from the bus stop. Nights were peaceful and incredibly restful. If you like hiking and the beauty of untouched nature this is definitely the area. I really hope to return to Otaki and of course would want to stay at Ai's place

A 160-year-old house with pristine floors and a fireplace. Restore moisture at a hidden inn nestled in a rural mountain village.

They hosts were very nice and helpful. The home was beautiful and traditional, and the surrounding countryside was very serene and peaceful. The wood stove made the experience cozy as well. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to experience a traditional style Japanese home. Trains are infrequent and require a physical ticket, don’t make our mistake using Suica.

Big house and large grounds to play Satoyama [old house hana]

LaurenRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I stayed here for the firefly festival in Tatsuno and really loved it! The house is a nice mix of Japanese and Western style. It also smelled really good 😍! It’s very big and clean. The kitchen had everything I needed. 🍽️ It’s also super dog-friendly 🐕, which I really appreciated. Thank you so much! My big young Irish setter was comfortable in a spacious dog pen they provide with many blankets and such. I’d love to stay here again. Highly recommend!

Takato-Sakura Cottage

We also enjoyed plenty of cherry blossoms close to Takato Castle Park. There are also cherry blossoms on the premises, which increases your feelings. The room was also well equipped and comfortable. There was a pot in the kitchen, but there were no kitchen tools such as chopsticks and ladles, so it is suitable for eating like lentin. The bedroom had a high ceiling and it was pleasant. On the other hand, if you can't sleep because there are no curtains on the high windows, it's a good idea to bring an eye mask.
