Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Ierapetra

We enjoyed a fantastic four days in Aris’ place, the views of the plateau and mountains are just beautiful! We felt right at home, and it was lovely to have Aris and his wife physically there at check in, a rarity these days! The images really don’t do this place justice, it is up some winding roads but we were prepared for that having visited the plateau in 2012. We can’t recommend staying here more, we really wish we’d have booked a longer stay! Aris had a fantastic hire car recommendation too, which was also great, and we had some amazing recommendations from them too. Thank you very much Aris!

The house is very quiet in a village where you (early June) do not have mass tourism, but the beach is small. The people in the restaurants and shops are very friendly and the food here (we tried three restaurants) was very good everywhere. Michalis described the way to the house very well. Everything was well maintained and Michalis had provided us with a sweet delicacy and water for the reception. We would book the place again in a heartbeat.

The Rustic Nook was such a lovely, unique place to stay. It felt like you were tucked away in a quaint cottage in the shire. Beyond the physical attractiveness of the home, Amanda was always just a text away. I felt that if an emergency were to arise, she would’ve been there in a moment’s notice. When it came to the Rustic Nook, she thought of everything and had a note or explanation available. We loved our stay and if we ever get the chance to come back to Crete, we hope to be able to stay at the Rustic Nook again!

We had a fantastic stay also thanks to our great host Popi, responded quickly to our questions and always came up with a solution. Accommodation was super clean and everything a person needs during his vacation. 2 terraces one at the front and one at the back with spectacular views over the bay of Agios Nickolaos. Furthermore, it is also the perfect place to make trips to the east side of Crete. A car is recommended here. Tip: drive to the idyllic town of Mochlos. Popi thank you for your hospitality, you were a lovely host and hopefully see you soon.

What a find this place was. Beautifully restored traditional house in an amazingly beautiful village in the hills above the Pefki Gorge. The house is well provisioned and very tastefully decorated. Great ventilation and insect screens on the windows. We were there for a week and the temps were very hot, but we didn't need to use the AC at all. Wonderful local taverna - we went three times. Don't miss the Sunday night music and traditional dancing. Fanis the owner is very friendly and absolutely hilarious. A great local kafeneio - don't ask for a menu, just ask what's for lunch. Great views to the Libyan Sea - it is just 10 minutes down to Makry Gialo. Search around and you will find quiet beaches without rows of sunbeds if that's not your thing. A great base to explore East Crete, there are awesome mountain roads with cute villages and amazing views. Elina gave us great recommendations for restaurants and was very helpful. We loved this place. Would give it 6 stars if I could.

We booked this sweet apartment so we might experience living in a traditional village, and in an authentic village house. It is so lovely! — has balconies on each of the two levels, and is furnished as a family home, complete with beautiful objects and traditional furniture and family photos dotted about. We felt ourselves to be guests in someone’s house rather than temporary occupants of a characterless, to-let holiday rental. Arrival and induction was all managed very efficiently, and the generosity of the hosts with home made and local produce was typical of a wider warm welcome within the community, particularly at the local restaurant. Overall, this is an ideal venue for those wishing to have a peaceful stay, with the option to explore Sitia, and various coastal, and other sites with interesting natural history and flora. We went on a few great scrambles along gorges, and to Vai beach. We'd hired a small 4x4 car, which was an advantage in accessing some of these localities along d

We had a very nice week in the apartment with our children of 4 and 6 years old. The apartment was as shown in the pictures of the ad! Clean, neat, spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. Balcony on the smaller side with four of us, but that didn't bother us. We had regular contact with Magdalena, she always responded very helpfully and extremely quickly (within 5 min). That was very pleasant! She had also arranged a taxi from the airport to the apartment and back for us at the end of the week. For the kids enough to do here in the area, everything within walking distance: the small swimming pool, beach/boulevard, CretAquarium, Dinosaur park. I would definitely recommend the apartment! Furthermore, we found the area a bit outdated (although there is a lot of new construction coming!) and not very lively. We were there outside the holiday season.

My husband and I spent a lovely week at Asteri Home. The house was exactly as expected and just what we wanted for our week in Crete. The kitchen was well-equipped and allowed us to make breakfasts and a some dinners at home. The main double bedroom was big enough and comfortable. The bathroom is a bit dark and the shower is quite small, but we made do. The most amazing part of the house is the huge garden overlooking the sea that has 4 sun loungers, 2 outdoor tables for dining, a BBQ and a dart board. We spent a lot of time sitting at the end of the garden enjoying the view. Véronique and Yiannis are amazing hosts. They were so helpful right from the start - arranging transport from the airport, a rental car, offering suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. Kokkini Hani is quieter than other more touristy parts of Crete we visited. We found wonderful Greek restaurants with fresh seafood everyday. The supermarket and shops are all in walking distance. A lovely place!

A wonderful apartment with a beautiful view over the olive trees to the water. We felt very comfortable there. It couldn't have been better for us. And since we have been going to Keratokambos for many years, we will certainly come back. Everything was impeccable and extremely cozy. Thank you so much

Very beautiful, large traditional Greek house. And an extraordinary garden with breathtaking views. With small hammock rest areas, sun loungers. Beautiful outdoor dining area. And a very warm and attentive family welcome.

Lovely retreat. If you're looking for a beautiful, private, peaceful stay this is it. The simplicity of walking to a quiet beach (with no waves, great for families), eating outside at the tables, drinking espresso, and exploring the nearby quaint towns was perfection. The family's recommendations for food were fantastic. Eat at all the places, especially the closeby Taverna Steki for a casual, delicious meal. Keep the interior door between the rooms open with fans in the doorway to cool the kitchen side that doesn't have AC. make sure you understand where to park and walk if you're arriving late (as we did). Irene was so sweet with our boys. Mike was extremely responsive and helpful.

Had a 2 week stay at Villa Heliopetra. The villa was absolutely beautiful, very private with amazing views. Within easy walk to a couple of good tavernas (about 10 min but there is a steep driveway back up to the villa) and an easy and scenic walk along the seafront (about 20min) to Elounda which has lots of options for tavernas, bars and shops. The villa had efficient air conditioning, a well equipped kitchen and a cosy area with the option of a real fire in an impressive fireplace. We paid to have the large hot tub heated in the first week as the weather was unusually chilly, but used it unheated to cool down when the temperatures rose. We found it to be a great addition. The outstanding feature was the fabulous view of the bay from Spinalonga island round to Elounda, absolutely breathtaking! We had a problem with slow Wifi during our stay but Giorgos sorted it very quickly. He was a brilliant host and very responsive to any questions. We would love to come back to stay again soon.

Nice location. Kids loved the pool and the sea is calmer on soth side so we got perfect supping as well. Folder in the house contained lot of nice places to visit. Some are within walking distance as well. Romeo was super helpful

We had an incredible holiday in Plaka. The villa is tastefully decorated and equipped for a relaxing holiday, but the best part was the views and the attention we received from Tina, Aspa, and Angelis, who were always friendly and willing to help us enjoy our stay.

Highly recommend Jan’s gorgeous home. We witnessed some of our favorite sunsets here and the house itself is just a beauty. Everything we needed was available in the kitchen to cook up a great meal. It was also such a great location to a lot of areas we wanted to visit. Jan gave us a lot of recommendations and we ended up going to a few of the restaurants Jan sent us to! If you’re looking for a beautiful, private airbnb that is situated in a central place near all the beaches you’d likely go to, this is your spot!

The villa was fabulous with amazing sea and mountain views and so much more space (bigger than we expected). Very quiet which was what we wanted and so you need a car. Lovely beaches and tavernas not too far away. Host and house keeper were very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

We had an amazing week - we really enjoyed the house and its amenities and the beach is just across the street, so it’s a great place to disconnect and enjoy. If you like to run, there’s a long beach just a few mins away. Hosts were great, very responsive and super helpful. 100% recommend, would definitely come back.

Wow, what can I say other than this is the best Air B&B we have ever stayed in. The place was gorgeous and in a stunning location. The bedrooms were spacious with great closet storage. The pools were perfect for our family and 2 children. The kitchen was well stocked as well. Dimitri was absolutely amazing! He and his team made our holiday perfect with amazing breakfast every morning, a clean place, and help with all reservations. Our daughters loved the place and the people so much they cried when leaving. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this place is and we would love to stay again.
