There are a few pets (dog, cat, chickens, walking, bees). The refrigerator is underground and the composting toilet an experience in itself. The whole is made as environmentally friendly as possible and an invitation to live simply while respecting nature. There is a wood-burning stove.

We had a fantastic weekend at 't Holthus! An oasis of peace, surrounded by beautiful nature and with all the comfort you could wish for. The cottage was stylishly furnished, sparkling clean and equipped with every comfort. The hot tub was of course a highlight. The warm welcome and personal touches of the owners made our stay extra special. Perfect for recharging for a while.

A modern building is set amongst trees in a grassy area. Chickens are seen roaming in the foreground, while large windows reflect the surrounding greenery. The spacious environment offers a peaceful view of distant fields.

In 2016, I already spent a weekend with friends in the Coach House. I liked that, so just booked again. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Sjoerd and Jeltsje. Fresh eggs, flowers and a welcome card on the table. The Carriage House is an oasis of peace just a few minutes from Dokkum. Behind the cottage you can enjoy the beautiful view from the wind in the spring sun. Also nice that we were free to take a look in the stables. In the evening we had a nice glass of wine in the hot tub. The downside was the extra cost; the hot tub was more expensive than listed on Airbnb and it was also not indicated that we had to pay extra for the towels (€15 for 5). Too bad, because we would have brought them ourselves. Nevertheless, it is and remains a great place to relax and enjoy.

We had a wonderful stay at this fantastic house! It is really perfectly appointed – everything you need is there, and it is super clean and spacious. The house is a real retreat to relax with lots of great extras such as the boat, whirlpool and perfectly equipped kitchen. The location is just ideal and our children felt very comfortable there – they even fell asleep quickly, which speaks for the comfort. Overall an absolute dream that we would book again at any time. We loved the house, its location in the centre of the old town, the garden full of roses, and the sound of the church bells. The kitchen was fine with enough accessories for cooking. There are two large tables for working. The bed was very comfortable. Loved sleeping with the church bell gently ringing through the night. Kathrin's breakfast at her cafe was wonderful. We would gladly return.

Beautiful accommodation along the route of the Drenthepad. We were allowed to park the car there in the morning and bring our luggage in, then walk to Westerbork and back to the cottage. Delicious breakfasts. Jacinta has put a lot of love into it. The cheese fondue was also delicious. Furthermore, beautiful quiet garden. Plenty of privacy, yet safe on the property. I'm sure I'll be back. Beautiful surroundings for biking and hiking. Only with self-cooking it is difficult, but with a little creativity it can be solved.

I stayed for 2 nights with a friend for a nice weekend escape in the nature: best choice we could make! The hosts are super friendly and made us feel at home since the very first moment. The little house has everything you need, and more, to make it a very special place: the fireplace and the cd player with audio system were the highlights! We also enjoyed the nature and peaceful surroundings. Definitely recommended!!

Very nice holiday cottage on quiet campsite. From the platform in the back of the garden you have a nice view of an open plain, we saw a few deer passing by in the early morning. The cottage has a beautiful garden, is also full of comforts and the contact with the owner is fine. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place for a getaway! The house is a bit hidden but once you have found it, bombastic! Nice layout and amenities. We felt very comfortable. With the lake and outdoor swimming pool within walking distance we had a very nice summer vacation. The place is very cute and the people very hospitable. The house is highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay here, Edwin has a truly amazing place. a massive garden for the children to play in, with pool etc. a very spacious living quarters with a big kitchen. all and all we really enjoyed our family weekend and can highly recommend it!
