Beautiful updated traditional Japanese home. The house is located ideally for walking anywhere in Takayama. The soaking tub is so cool, and the house is beautiful. Highly recommended, would definitely stay again. We personally loved the vegetarian restaurant recommendations in the house book. Very helpful.

Kan is an incredible host and his place is lovely. The tiny home is filled with architectural details that create a beautiful and comfortable space. We were so grateful to Kan for making his tiny home a special place for us to spend our last leg of our honeymoon. The apartment is nestled in a quiet, residential neighborhood, which is ideal for taking a break from busy Tokyo. You’re near major transit lines and convenience stores, as well as a lovely park. Kan shared fantastic recommendations for breakfast and lunch nearby — and he was very accommodating to make our check in and out as seamless as possible. I’d happily return!

Wouw it couldn't be any better!! masa is such a nice guy and very welcoming! upon arriving we felt welcome, he explained everything and went his way. he had answers for every question we had and helped us to the best of his ability. upon arriving we gave him some Dutch gifts ( fridge magnet of a wooden shoe with tulips and a pack of stroopwafels) this shook him but he accepted it with a smile from ear to ear! the accommodation was clean and well taken care of, plenty of room for 2 people and really close to Ebara-machi station, which we used the most to get around. friendly people around Ota and the 7-11 around the corner is also very helpful! next time we are planning to stay longer! Domo arigato gozaimasu masa-san!

Really amazing house and well thought out design and interior. Very peaceful with a great kitchen, utensils and everything you can think of. Even kitchen knives were high quality Henckels and not cheap ones like you would expect to see in an AirBnB. Very private and pristine surroundings and very close to everything in Nasu with a good supermarket nearby. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

We’ve stayed in many, many Airbnbs around the world, and this one was definitely a highlight. For our two teenage daughters, this home was symbolic of a great trip to Kyoto. This tastefully restored, traditional Japanese home offers a chance to step back in time to an uncluttered, tatami style of living. Modern amenities and an eye for detail combine to make this a truly special place. Comfortable beds, beautiful gardens, responsive hosts. We either walked or took taxis or Ubers from the train station. I will mention that the tall people in our group had to watch to duck their heads in some areas which was to be expected. Being able to navigate stairs is a must. This Kyoto home will be a cherished memory for all of us.

Such a great find! The flat is stunning and looks exactly as described, spacious and very nicely designed and decorated. The area is also very vibrant, loads of restaurant and the host kindly provide a long list of places to go

I honestly don’t know where to begin. Staying in Keiko’s home was truly one of the greatest honors of our time in Japan—it was a highlight of the entire trip. From the moment we walked through her door, we were immersed in Japanese culture. Keiko greeted us with warmth and kindness, making us feel immediately at home. She patiently guided us through everything, showing us how to use her space with care and respect. Her home is a reflection of her spirit—graceful, serene, and full of beauty. I was deeply moved and inspired by her presence and generosity. Being invited to take part in her traditional Japanese tea ceremony was an experience I will never forget. She took the time to teach us the rituals and meaning behind each step, explaining everything with such clarity and heart. She dressed us in beautiful kimonos, carefully helping us put them on the correct way. Drinking matcha that was pure and fresh—words fail me. It was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. This hidden gem is conveniently located near the metro line, making it incredibly easy to get around during our stay. We absolutely loved the place—it felt like home, set within a beautifully traditional Japanese-style house. It was truly a wonderful experience, with all the listed amenities and a peaceful atmosphere in a quiet part of town. I highly recommend it for families of three or four. Our host was polite and very helpful whenever we had questions. The thoughtful decor and small details made it feel like one of the most authentic Japanese home experiences you could ask for.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cozy Cottage. The house was very clean and spacious. For us, the best part was the location. It truly felt like we were locals living in the community where Cozy Cottage is located. All of the staff were also very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time, and the stay definitely made our time in Kyoto extra special. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a bit of a slower pace in Kyoto.

We loved our stay at Yamano’s place. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet, but it was just a short walk to the river, bus stop, and train station. The hosts were extremely responsive and kind. They met us at check in to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They also sent suggestions for restaurants and things to do in the area.

This house is lovely awesome and perfectly clean. Our stay was wonderful and more worth the price. The private onsen inside the tiny Japanese garden is beautiful. The location is very quiet, near the river and less 5 minutes by walk from the station and konbini. Everything you need is provided inside the house, so you don’t have to worry about

Das Ryokan ist wunderschön, typisch japanisch und passend für unsere Reise mit der großen Familie. Wir haben die schönen Schiebetüren, den typischen Boden, die großen Fenstertüren und ganz besonders den unglaublich wunderbaren japanischen Garten jeden Tag bewundert.

大満足でした！ホストの方がとても親切で、チェックインもスムーズ。部屋は写真通り清潔でおしゃれで、まるで自分の家のようにくつろげました。キッチンや洗濯機など生活に必要な設備が整っていて、長期滞在にもぴったりです。周辺の観光スポットやおすすめのレストランも丁寧に教えていただき、とても助かりました。またぜひ利用したいと思います！

울릉도에 엄마와 함께 하는 여행이었는데 가성비를 따진다면 이정도 숙소는 없어요! 숙소는 딱 적당히 쾌적하고 적당히 지낼만한 곳입니다. 1박에 30만원이 넘는 숙소와는 컨디션을 비교할 수 없지만 마당의 고양이들과 로컬 느낌이 나는 마을에서 지낼 수 있다는 점이 좋았어요. 그리고 아침 배로 울릉도에 도착해 매우 피곤하고 씻고 싶었는데 호스트가 배려주셔서 일찍 체크인 할 수 있었고 너무 감사했습니다.

Amazing Airbnb with pool and sauna. Super private and quiet area. Beautiful typical Japanese interior with a luxury touch. The host is very friendly and communication was easy. We would love to come visit again.

We very much enjoyed our stay here ! The house is very large with 4 bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, bath tubs both indoors and outdoors and everything you need for a fantastic holiday. It is located in a peaceful forest area away from the crowds. If you have a dog, there are also plenty of facilities for your pet. Very easy to get from the house to Lake Kawaguchi and Chureito Pegoda, the 7 seas of Oshino, many temples, gardens, museums and also the F1 racetrack. If you have a car, this home is a perfect base to get everywhere. We really felt at home and enjoyed that everyone had their own bedroom with comfortable beds.

Don’t be put off by the rules- be respectful and this is a great stay. Nice and quiet and close to many food places and stations. The host is very helpful and responsive and even offered to make a restaurant reservation for us. We loved our stay!
