Wooden cabin by river in rural Leicestershire.

The Vine Cabin is a hand built snug insulated wooden cabin with woodburner, within sight and sound of the River Wreake where you can use our canoes . Sleeps up to 5 (2 in bunks), basic cooking facilities. Canoe building holidays by arrangement. The built in bunk can take 2 people ( increasing the capacity to 6, but they need to be friendly!!). Please bring sleeping bags for the built in bunk (the other beds have bedding provided)

“Swift Retreat” is a beautiful one-bedroomed barn conversion in the attractive village of Thrussington in the heart of the Wreake Valley. Discounted rate! We are currently undergoing building work in the property next door. Whilst this won't directly affect the internal accommodation, there may be some noise/disruption outside during weekdays (8am-4pm). Our rates have therefore been discounted during this period.

Redwood House

Redwood House was hard to leave! It was obviously built and well loved by the family and that energy remains. Whilst there are a few items missing that an overseas guest doesn’t usually travel with (in my case a hairdryer)…. Overall it is amazing well stocked, very clean and a joy to be in. The church next door welcome visitors, as does the local pub ( The Blue Bell). The next village, thrussington, has two more pubs and a wonderful cafe/shop with the most delicious cakes and snacks. Friendly locals are willing to help with advice. Walking in the area is a delight.

A lovely stay, something different from a regular hotel room. Very thick duvet and electric blanket made for a comfortable warm sleep and it was fun to use the wood burner in the evening. Considering it is a converted horse stable, it was very clean and tidy. The outside Lighting and sofa in the courtyard provided an extra space to enjoy in the evening.

Mick & Jo were consumate hosts who stopped at nothing to ensure our time at their place was comfortable, private, enjoyable and met all our needs. They had researched everything for us from where to eat to interesting place to go and things to see and do if we wanted. They were so friendly and warm and yet they gave us plenty of freedom and privacy. Their gardens were lovely and peaceful with plenty to walk around and see. Perfect for sitting and watching the sunset in an evening with a lovely glass of wine or enjoying the morning sun in private with a lovely cup of coffee. We would highly recommend them and their beautiful place which Mick built to such a high standard.

The wetroom ensuite features modern tiled walls and a spacious layout. A curved shower area is equipped with a glass panel. A wall-mounted sink and toilet are positioned for convenience, while a large mirror enhances the sense of space. A towel warmer is visible on one wall.

Secluded Luxury Glamping pod & hot tub

We all had an absolute blast! We didn't leave the pod or surroundings for the whole weekend as there was so much to do. Boat trips on the lake, fire put to toast marshmallows, hammocks to lay in, hot tub to relax in. Beautiful and private surroundings. A perfect place for a family with children. Charlotte was the perfect host. Everything was catered for. Smooth check in and check out, lots of communication and questions answered almost immediately. Thanks for a lovely stay, we will be returning in the future.
