Vacation rentals with a kayak in Hernando

Great little spot on the water if you’re looking for a peaceful weekend. Didn’t catch anything but that’s our luck haha had a great time did see a spotted Gar and even seen a baby gator and one about 4ft long while in the canoe. Would definitely stay again if I came back to the area, clean house and had everything we needed.

We had the most magical birthday for our 8 year old daughter! We saw otters every day and swam in the crystal clear waters, kayaked and paddle boarded to our hearts content. We fished, we took our John boat up stream and floated back. EVERYTHING was provided for the most fun weekend ever! This place is situated in the perfect spot on the river, a little ways away from all the state park tubing traffic and right near Swampy’s restaurant (fantastic food). We will be back again- this is our new favorite!

Our stay at Getaway on the waterway was truly a wonderful time. The home is a gem in the ruff. It is quaint, quiet and so peaceful. Our host Laura goes above and beyond in providing everything you may possibly need during your stay. For instance, she has a birthday drawer well stocked with decorations for you to use if you happen to be celebrating a birthday, which we were. She was always accessible if we had any questions and the home was immaculate too. She is the most accommodating host we have ever had. We will be returning and we highly recommend you visit as well!

This place is better than the pictures! The place was super clean. It looked like the inside had been newly renovated and it was beautiful. It was bigger than we thought. Having the kayaks was a big plus! We met a few neighbors while kayaking and they were super nice which added to our overall experience. The bed upstairs (the only one we used) was super comfy as were the pillows. We were in the area for my niece’s high school graduation and plan to stay here again for any future visits! Highly recommend this place. Also, Jennifer was an amazing host and was always quick to respond. We did not need much from her as everything was self explanatory thanks to the thoughtful notes! We arrived a bit early and Marni responded quickly to our request to go in early. The house was very clean and comfy. The ac is ice cold! The kayaks were awesome and we had everything we needed. I would stay here again.

Will definitely be back! Loved spending time with my family on the Rainbow river. Ate dinner together with a beautiful view at a beautiful big wood table and then made smores at the fire pit. Great Memories were made.

My husband and I stayed at Matt's Place and it didn't disappoint. It is exactly what he described in the details. We had our morning coffee on the pier to watch the beautiful sunrise and listen to nature waking up. Enjoyed some jacuzzi time and some BBQ. The Hammocks are a nice touch. Somehow I was under the impression it had a king or queens size bed, but the house is establish with 2 bunkbeds, which was perfectly fine and different. The location is sure "Nature pure" your are close to grocery stores and restaurants but when on the property it feels you are far away from everything. Kitchen was organized and equipped enough. We forgot charcoal but went to the local Publix to grab a bag...it was a very nice experience. Unique with the amenities Matt Offers...It was a warm welcome and easy access. Christina’s Rainbow Cove was everything we were expecting and it had every single thing we needed. We were looking for a place to relax and unwind with family for our son’s graduation and her spot was the perfect place for that. Everyone was comfortable and had their own space. She has kayaks and paddle boards for everyone and you could not beat the direct access to the water right off her property. She’s super friendly and responsive and really cares that you have a great time. Her house is also just minutes away from Rainbow Springs State Park and down the road from the grocery store if you need anything while you’re there. There are also good restaurants really close by. Swampy’s is a really cool one right on the river, just to mention one. There was also the added bonus of having access to Rio Vista, a private park with picnic areas, a boat ramp, a volleyball net, etc. I definitely recommend Christina’s place and would certainly go back there if we are ever in the area again.

This was our second time renting this place and we just love it. Location is perfect, the price has been really good each time, and there's everything one needs. The house has a great lay out, with a large open living area with kitchen, dining area, and living room, and then the bedrooms are off to the sides. The large screened in area is cozy for hanging out and keeping all your things that don't need to come in the house. There are 5 single kayaks which are great and this time we needed a double kayak as well so we rented one from Easy Peasy Mobile Kayak Rental. Would definitely recommend reaching out to them if one needs additional kayaks at a fair price and they deliver and pick up. Sally is a fantastic host who has always been so responsive and we will definitely be coming back for a third time :)

Family of 5 (3 kids) and two dogs from VA. Felt the house was perfect with a great yard and cool trees. The dogs didn’t need leashed and could be at ease with pool access being safe. (My dogs can’t swim) The sheets were real cotton (this means a lot) and the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of bedding and pillow options. Kitchen had the basics to cook meals which was easier. The house had everything we needed to have a great vacation other than food to eat. Close to everything we wanted to do. A great trail that was not a commercialized walk where we saw armadillos, manatees, an alligator, bald eagles, snakes and we could hear two owls talking. It was perfection. The swing out back was a nice peaceful touch and I really appreciated the grill. We saw crystal clear water at three sisters while kayaking as well as dolphins at sunset. We took a boat cruise to an island and found more shells I’ve seen in my life. I’d come back again and again. No hoopla where tons of people were.

Highly recommend the apartment, nice backyard directly at the water. Beautifully renovated bath- and bedrooms. Well-equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook your own meals. Hosts were reachable and very supportive. Perfect for a weekend-escape into the green!

Nice little cottage tucked away and away from people very quiet and relaxing place charming cottage very clean and just big enough for two people Very easy process for our first air bnb and the owners were great to work with The yard was very nice for the dog he is older so it was just big enough for him to sniff. Location to get to things local is great and very good restaurants nearby Would recommend

STOP SEARCHING!!! This. Place. Is. It. If it’s available book it! The Funky Flamingo is fabulous, everything about this place is perfect! Perfect location, perfect decor, perfect everything!!! We had a blast celebrating my fiancés birthday on the river! So many things to use for outdoor time, so close to the water! Plenty of places to sit! The Airbnb was so cool compared to outdoors!

This was one of my favorite vacations ever! Brian was a wonderful host! He gave us a walk through and was so kind and helpful. The house was just perfect. Clean, comfortable and you can't beat the location! Right next to Roger's Park and one of my favorite restaurants. Many ameneties, including kayaks, floats, chairs, corn hole and more! Clean linens, towels and everything you would ever need in a kitchen. This home is private with gorgeous views from the screened in back porch and deck. So much wildlife! We saw manatees, otters, birds and more! Close to stores and other shopping. We love this area and the relaxed atmosphere. Thank you so much for such a memorable experience! We hope to come stay here again in the near future!

It was a beautiful place to stay. Perfect place to disconnect your self from everything. We love our stay!!! The cabin was just perfect for the 3 of us. Love the River and the screened porch.

This is a perfect spot for a peaceful weekend getaway and exploring in nature. A highlight of the stay was seeing all the wildlife on the Chassahowitzka River! This cabin was cozy, and felt like home. We appreciated amenities like board games, the grill and kayaks (& lifevests) which made the experience seamless. Make sure you bring your own mask and snorkel to make the most of this great spot with its very own river access!!

Had a great weekend! Kayaking the lake was a plus!

This is our second time staying here, my dog, boyfriend, and I love it here! We would live here if we could, haha. Leslie is so helpful and always responds quickly. If you love being in nature, this is great! Our dog loves the fenced in backyard, walking to the park by the water, and also riding on the golf cart! They have everything you need here, and more! We took our dog out on the double kayak, and it was so nice! We saw otters and lots of nature. Definitely not a luxury hotel, but a cozy place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. We will be back again, I am sure of that. Thank you Leslie and Richard!

We had a fantastic stay! The home is beautiful, clean, and well stocked with lots to keep you entertained. The outdoor area is gorgeous- lots of seating, a fire pit, picnic area, and more. We especially enjoyed the kayaks and saw a manatee while out on the river. The hosts were super responsive from booking through checkout. Thank you!

Very Beary Cabin provided a beautiful and relaxing break from reality. Nancy is probably the best host I have ever worked with. I spent a ton of time in the swing, on the dock listening to the birds and relaxing with the beautiful view of Crystal Lake. We would definitely return!

Leslie was very responsive. The setting is private and the covered deck on rainy days wonderful to relax on. Leslie provided much appreciated extras like healthier cooking pans, sharp knives, a cutting board, and a medicine kit which are not usually provided in my years of experience. A word of caution apparently regarding airbnb policy. Check for potential price changes on your reservation Even IF you are subtracting something!!! Because I didn’t end up taking my dog with (deleting the pet fee), it changed my reservation and a $142.20 increase (county tax fee) was added! 😱

Experience was perfect and exactly what my husband and I needed to get some R&R and peace away from the busy city. Lots of great fishin off the dock. Bluegill, gar, bowfin,catfish, and a wee baby alligator. Friendly people nearby and good food and live music at the restaurant across the street. We will definitely return.
