Guesthouse vacation rentals in Hawaii County

This is our second time staying at Mango cottage. The location for snorkeling is unbeatable, and Puako is such a peaceful little town. Less than 5 min walk to the snorkeling at the keyhole at the end of the road. The cottage is comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The outdoor shower is lovely, and it was so fun to hear mangoes falling on the roof and “catching” them fresh. A/C in the bedroom helped a lot. Scott is a considerate host. Was sad to leave, would love to come back soon.

This is a perfect little spot for a vacation or if you have family in town. The power went out for a couple of hours and Malis met us at the door with a lantern. She was friendly and responsive, considerate and kind. The space itself is adorable with a comfortable bed and a wide variety of appliances. I highly recommend!

What a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. My mom and I really enjoyed the surroundings and the wonderful hosts. We appreciated Kayo and Roby allowing us to have our working dog stay with us at the rental. We hope to visit again in the future.

Sharon and Mark were so sweet! We got a little tour and lots of great conversation with them! It was cozy and a beautiful location.

I can’t say enough good things about this home. It’s located conveniently, has everything you could need while spending some time on the big island, and has the most beautiful view. My husband and I enjoyed looking out at the gorgeous view over coffee every morning, which was such a great way to enjoy the home’s lanai. Karrie is a great host, communicates well, and helped us to feel right at home. Her sweet pup Scout hangs around the property and was a great bonus for two folks missing their dog :) I highly recommend this home!

Comfortable accommodations don't begin to describe this beautiful, tranquil spot with tall ceilings and breezy atmosphere. Awesome place to relax on an island with so much to do. Host is great - responsive and provides first class recommendations!

Stepping out of my car, I was greeted by Karen and we walked through the magical lights towards my place for the night. There was a little “welcome Annie” sign at the door. Karen then walked me down to the beach to see where I could snorkel in the morning. This museum like home is full of LOVE. Art, Elephants, surf boards, even a buddha gong. Unfortunately for me, it was also full of little spider roommates that hung high above the bathroom and bedroom. The occasional spider is okay, but to have that many eyes on me was unnerving. I couldn’t stay a second night. I know, I know….I have an unnatural fear. I didn’t see any other friends. I would stay here again if I was with someone else. The bed was super comfy…. and the shower was heavenly. That was the best part for me! The fridge and stove were dirty so I opted out of eating there. ‘The Coffee Shack’, is a very delicious restaurant with an amazing view!! Call ahead to get on the waitlist.

We had an amazing stay! The host was super thoughtful and even kept us in the loop about the volcano activity. The house had so many nice little touches—we were so excited to find a bunch of DVDs, including Studio Ghibli movies! That was such a fun surprise. There were also lots of board games, and the kids had a great time playing. The beds were really comfy too. We’d definitely love to stay here again!

Robin was a great host. She was responsive and accommodating and the jungalow was beautiful. If you’re looking for a great place to reconnect with nature, it’s the perfect place.

Loved Jordan’s place. Close walk to cliffs and a hike. Short drive into Hilo, but so nice to have space and the peace and quiet of the area.

We had a very lovely stay at this charming cottage! You can spend some relaxing days there and reach the beautiful beaches north of Kona easily by car. The cottage was very well equipped and very clean.

This place was awesome we booked at the last minute to see the volcano eruption and this place was within 10 minutes drive and able to go and see on time. Brandee was quick in responding our request we had a great time. Will come again

It's just as pretty and comfortable as the photos! I feel like Cate's house is very thoughtful and decorated from the customer's point of view. It's a really neatly maintained house. It was well equipped with an induction stove, coffee pot, microwave, oven, etc., so it was good to buy groceries and cook. It had all the necessary equipment, such as bodyboards and snorkels, for the sea, so I could use it comfortably, and there was also a washing machine and a dryer. The delicacy of preparing even the detergent and dryer sheet!!! Thanks to you, it was pleasant. It's on a hill, but it's a quick 15-20 minute drive to the sea and the grocery store, so the accessibility was good. It was nice that communication was quick and easy, and I happened to see a puppy that was so, so cute! I hope everyone is healthy and happy, and I'd like to come again if I have the chance! Thank you:)

KoKo cottage was the perfect little place for our family of 4. It was centrally located, clean, and had enough space for us! While the cottage did not have AC (which I will be honest at first worried me with a baby and toddler at the start of summer), the fans and tips of keeping the windows open actually cooled the place down considerably (especially at night— we even were chilly!) Luke and Shelley were super responsive hosts and we loved our time on the Big Island!

Kimo’s place was wonderful. It was lovely to watch the beach from the Lanai. The house was clean and cozy. Jim was very friendly and responded quickly to any questions I had. There was tons of beach stuff to use which was really helpful.

Airbnb stay in Kona was fantastic! The place was just as described; very clean and comfortable. The location was pretty centralized for Kona and in a quiet, safe neighborhood. Our host was flexible with check in and allowing us to use extra amenities like the laundry. Def recommend for a couple of people looking for a spot to rest at in Kona.

Great location, close to town and the highway when getting around the Kona side of the island. The space is small, but everything Hannah stocked was useful items for the trip including beach chairs, a fridge, coffee maker, all the things you would want! The space is quiet and the AC was awesome for sleeping. Would absolutley stay here again.

We loved our stay at Julya's place! The lanai is everything! I will definitely try to stay here next time I'm in Kona.

All of us enjoyed our stay at Debbie’s place. It was the perfect size for 5 of us; and that extra 1/2 bath was truly great to have! We really enjoyed eating the eggs from Debbie’s chickens that she left for us. We ate them scrambled and soft boiled and all were so delicious!! We picked fruits and flowers from their huge yard and we made friends with their dogs, birds and cows. We wanted to take a picture at the house with our Broken Dog Ranch shirts, but I felt bad that we were already late checking out. So we got together on Oahu for our photo shoot! 😁 This was my 2nd time staying at Debbie’s beautiful hale and I would definitely stay there again! Mahalo nui loa for your warm hospitality, Debbie! Loved this stay. Convenient, modern house with clean and quiet location. We loved being able to walk to coffee and Merriman’s for dinner. The location is a short drive (15-20 mins) from beaches too. I would highly recommend it!

Charles and Kathy are wonderful hosts. Great location for excursions. Easy in and out to road system. Highly recommend, and would definitely stay there again.

If you are planning on spending time at Volcano National Park - stay here! Lily and Brian were helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Hospitality was top notch. We enjoyed the indoor-outdoor lifestyle so much! Everything was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was set up to cook really anything you could want. We spent the mornings before our hikes in the infrared sauna and outdoor shower. Followed by espresso on the deck. We got sweet hellos any goodbyes from the well-behaved family dogs. Lazy Acres is a truly special place. We cannot wait to return! So much more I could say but just trust you will love this place. Experience it for yourself!!
