I used it as a trip with 15 colleagues from work. Upon arrival, the host gave us a direct tour of the facility, and we were able to use it without any problems. As we were the first guests after the renovation, the party games were new, and it was very clean and easy to use. There were no other buildings around, so I was able to enjoy a private space without worrying about the surroundings. The open-air bath and pool were also beautiful and easy to use.I imagined that there would be a lot of insects because it was surrounded by nature, but personally, I didn't mind as much as I thought. I was very satisfied because I could have a BBQ (for a separate fee) on the veranda on the 2nd floor while looking at the beautiful sea. However, there are no convenience stores or supermarkets nearby, so you need to be careful about preparing ingredients. I'd love to stay again, it was a nice place!
The living area features leather sofas arranged around a sleek coffee table on a patterned rug. A wooden staircase leads to the upper level, and large windows allow natural light to fill the space, highlighting the minimalistic decor.

Mt. Fuji from Onsen bath、

Rating, 5 stars1 month ago
Two families and one car stayed for one night. The room had two single beds in the bedroom and two double beds in the living room, which matched the family structure. The double bed was slept on by an adult and a child, but I think it can sleep 2 adults. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, dishes, and cups. You can also BBQ on the veranda, and charcoal and tongs are available for rent at an additional cost.We recommend purchasing ingredients in advance. It takes about 20 minutes by car to get to the nearest supermarket. The room was clean and the owner was friendly, so I enjoyed it.Mt. Fuji can also be seen from the veranda, and it is the best position. The 7-Eleven where we were supposed to meet the owner was on Nabi Street, but there was no sign, and for a moment I was worried that it was the right meeting place.

Perfect stay! So cozy and private! The unit is very spacious and the host is very kind! Sits on a mountain so you can go for a walk. We went to go eat seafood and pasta at Blue Moment. I recommend to eat there and watch sunset and see views of the water! It’s only about 10-15 minutes away. Huge TV!

Takashi’s place is wonderful and so peaceful! The village and its people are very welcoming. And the ramen meal in Kikyoya was amazing. Nakasendo Way with its shogunate history is easy and quick to get to by car from Takashi’s place. Renting a car was very easy and is well worth doing for discovering the area. We were fortunate to have found Takashi’s gem of a place on Airbnb. He is a great and kind host, who truly cares for his guests.

Nice and communicative host. It was great to have the purpose of this trip and have suggestions for those who are local. If anyone is considering a place to stay, it will depend on what you want to use it, but it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the information your host has provided. As others have reviewed, you can communicate smoothly and comfortably, so please ask if you have any questions. Thank you very much.

1-min Station | River-View House on Nakasendo

AarniRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
If you're looking to get away from basically everything, this is the place. Surrounded by beautiful mountains, next to a rushing river, it's nothing like the big cities and millions of people rushing this way and that you might associate with Japan. That said, that also means there isn't a lot to _do_ in Nagiso or Tsumago, other than hike and see some local sights, and local transit can be a little patchy. The place itself is beautiful and comfortable, literally right next to the JR station, with a full-featured kitchen (a local supermarket is right down the street), comfy beds, big projector screen for a night of chilling out (e. g. after hiking in the rain, as we did)! There's also a nice recently reopened café next door, and some restaurants (though don't expect very long opening hours) too. Small note - if you're _very_ sensitive to traffic/industrial noise, be aware there's a somewhat major highway next to the house. Traffic does die down in the night though.

I had a lovely stay in at Noriko’s place. The views are stunning from end to end. The house is so well designed, decorated, and organized. Everything is perfectly placed for when you need it. I was so relaxed here spending a lot of time on the porch and slept so well in the comfortable bed. Noriko is so kind and sweet. She always made sure I was comfortable and helped me with anything I needed. She made a reservation for me at Food Chant which I highly recommend you do if you want a beautifully prepared and special meal. She also drove me to the train station on my way out which was a nice way to relieve travel day stress. The beautiful beach is about 15 minutes walking, full disclosure there is a steep hill back home but worth it to stay here even if you are relying on walking. The bus stop is also right after the hill and the bus is easy to use to go into Shimoda. I adore Noriko and would absolutely love to come back and relax in this fantastic home.

Private villa with alpine view from the terrace

MarcRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This is an excellent Airbnb, have confidence booking. We were warmly greeted by Villa Nagare's friendly owner and were given a detailed tour with welcome fruits and drink. We quickly felt at home in this beautifully renovated home. It is well equipped and included a high chair and children's cutlery for our child. We spent many hours relaxing on the terrace and watching the sublime alpine view. We initially booked 3 nights but extended an extra 2 because we were highly impressed with the accommodations and area! We were sad to leave but will return!!!

Relax to the sound of birdsong in a private villa with a container sauna, a natural water bath, and a covered BBQ

DavidRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Loved staying by the Itadori river, the village is by no means touristy, in fact the opposite, one tiny shop opposite the property, a couple of eating places but they were closed, but in saying that it was great to wander round a "real village", spotted a troop on monkeys up at the village shrine, there was also great bird wildlife. The river valley is absolutley beautiful, we loved the small balcony looking over the river. The place was absolutely spotless and vey well equipped. A car is really needed. It is by a road, although not busy there was a little noise in the early morning but I would certainly stay again.
