The location is ideal for day trips: about 25 minutes to Lübeck, 40 minutes to Schwerin, 45 minutes to the Baltic Sea beach or 50 minutes to Hamburg City.

Rade belongs to the joint municipality of Neu Wulmstorf in the district of Harburg.
