Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Groningen

Maurits really is a super host. Friendly, responsive, helpful; among the very best hosts at airbnbs we've stayed. The kitchen did not have a microwave, and he bought one for us. Would stay with him anytime anywhere. Location was perfect, walk to bus stops, center of town, and both an Albert Heijn and Jumbo. The house was an authentic schipperswonig, but outfitted with an electronic lock system and heating system that was quiet and effective. Note three things to guests: (1) typical Dutch flight of stairs, but good handrail and perfectly navigable (better than most); (2) oven and mirrors at height suitable for > 180 cm tall Dutch person; (3) Groningen is a university town and current next door neighbors are students who had extremely noisy friends every Thursday night (very late); they did respond to our complaint, but needed to be told twice. All in all, a very enjoyable stay.

This was the most beautiful spot we have stayed at. The location and surrounding were so peaceful. Everything was exactly as shown in the photos.

The house is amazing, equipped, kitchen, rooms, all the facilities are high-end. Very suitable for family. The area is quiet and green, birds chirping, a real treat for nature lovers. The hosts are available for any question, help, and recommendation at an exceptional level.

My family and I had a lovely 2 night stay at Janke's place. The house was as described and the village was beautiful. we visited Schiermonnikoog Island which is a little gem! Thank you Janke for the stress free stay.

Typical Dutch cottage – charming, cozy and exactly as described. We felt very comfortable. The only small point: we would have found a microwave practical sometimes. The location is ideal as a starting point for bike tours in all directions. Highly recommend for those seeking tranquility and nature!

We had a lovely weekend at Annie and Jaring's place. They are very nice and service-oriented. Nice cottage and super garden to relax from our walks and excursions. Had a very tasty and extensive breakfast. Recommended and well worth it!

We spend a wonderful weekend there with friends. The location is lovely and quiet, but close to lots of activities in the area. Perfect place to stay, we'll definitely come here again.

Overall a lovely stay in a very well located place. Kitchen was clean and had a large dishwasher which was helpful with children in tow. Full bath was lovely. Caretaker was friendly and a pleasure to work with. A really cool guy who furnished the place with personal, artistic touches. Groningen was so easy to explore on a rental bakfiets. Grocery, restaurants, parks and cultural places minutes from the apartment. Wish we had access to the washer/dryer given we were traveling with children. Bath was not operational due to a leak needing investigation through no fault of the caretakers doing, but would have made bathing children easier. Overall would highly recommend. Edwin was so friendly and oriented us during our check in. Groningen beats the bustle of the Randstad any day!

Such a nice, peaceful and cosy place! We stayed here to discover the Lauwersmeer with its variety of birds. It was lovely to start the day peaceful and end it cosy at Hans-Eriks place. Definitely would recommend! Would love to come back in a different season as well.

We were greeted by Agnes after finding our way easily from the train station at Europark. We were shown round the flat, given the instructions and settled in. The location near our favourite park in the Netherlands is perfect and a very easy walk into town. The flat is up 2 flights of Dutch stairs - say no more! We were very comfortable and rested well. We were warned that the electricity supply overloads but misjudged just how delicate this was. We caused a little trouble when we tripped the cut out but Johan resolved this for us.

Beautiful and clean Airbnb. Anything you need is present. Communication with Yvonne is fine, she responds quickly. You have your own entrance and garden, lots of privacy.

We greatly enjoyed this stay. It is a beautiful cottage with fantastic views. Breakfast is perfect. Furthermore, we also experienced the contact with Jitske as very pleasant. Tips: go bubbling in the jacuzzi, rent bikes to explore the area and take a walk through the Barefoot Path! We will definitely come back 😇

Ideal place as a starting point to explore Assen! The airbnb is spacious, clean and quiet. Good value for money. The city center of Assen is within walking distance +/-15min. The asser forest is in the backyard and there are plenty of activities in the area.

We spent 4 nights at this place, and absolutely loved it! The location is in the country along a canal. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. What a gem! I highly recommended this place to others!

It was a wonderful stay and will definitely come back! I had booked for 1 night and booked an extra night because I wanted to enjoy it a little longer. It was like coming home, a natural farm feeling, even got to bottle feed a young sheep :-) and fresh eggs from their chickens with the delicious breakfast. Roelie and her husband are very nice people with whom I feel comfortable, they think along with you and help make your stay as pleasant as possible. The forests with old trees and bamboos are nearby, by car you are there in about 5 minutes and also shops and restaurants are nearby. The residence is connected to a beautiful garden with various seating areas, also under a canopy. The bedstead sleeps wonderfully, nice and nostalgic. This place is highly recommended if you want to relax. And the price/quality ratio is perfect!

Jannie and Arnold were great hosts, Arnold met us when we drove in and showed us the house. They gave us tips for restaurants in the area and supplied is with everything we needed for our night stay. The place is beautiful and peaceful, 10 minutes drive from Groningen. Would recommend for a peaceful weekend away.

What a beautiful apartment in this beautiful water tower! Everything was neat and clean. The beds slept wonderfully. It was also nice that there were several pillows to choose from. We greatly loved our stay!

Perfect location close to everything with nice communication and responsive hosts

Tineke is a generous and careful host! Everything here is of exellent quality and in a good condition. You can live here for a year without having to buy extra things😆

Due to my husband's work, we stayed at Dennis and his family's place for 7 weeks, who live in the large part of the house. The place is very quietly located. For those who love it like we do, it's perfect. You only need a car or bike for weekly shopping as there are no shops in the village. The rooms are small and each has a dresser in it. The bathroom, on the other hand, is very spacious. You absolutely have to ventilate after every shower, otherwise it smells a bit peculiar. The kitchen and living room invite you to linger. Unfortunately, the garden was always very wet due to the weather, which is why we cannot report much about it. Behind the house there is a very nice playground and picnic areas. There are plenty of great walking trails. We made excursions to Groningen, Veemdam, Assen and even Amsterdam. We enjoyed it very much. Dennis and his family were incredibly nice!

We had a wonderful time at Ruben's Appt. Looking forward to our next stay there.
