Shepherds hut vacation rentals in Grand Union Canal

This is the third time I've stayed in Katherine's 'shepherd's hut'. It is a beautifully situated, cosy and peaceful retreat from which to explore Oxford. Katherine is a great host, friendly and helpful without being at all intrusive. I'm sure I'll be back for a fourth time soon.

Celebrated our 1 year anniversary and it was absolutely lovely, we are definitely going back! Lynden was so lovely and gave clear instructions that made finding eveything so easy, love our tour of the farm and feeding all the animals that were so friendly! The room was really nice and decorated so beautifully & really appreciated the complimentary snacks. We loved the hot tub, lighting the fire for our marshmallows, and how close the animals got to us! Was a lovely place to stay felt so at home and welcomed, would define my recommend :)

Perfect for our short stay in Milton Keynes, hut was lovely and was nice to have some tea and biscuit provisions. Easy check in and a beautiful area to be set up at. Hut is right next to the farm house and store. Fortunately we had no noise from either. Overall very pleased, only slight issue was that the bathroom fan wasn't working (or we couldn't work out how to turn it on) so it got very humid in there, some signs of mould but could be related to the fan so I'm sure will get fixed soon.

We had a lovely stay in the shepherds huts with our daughter. She loved the bunk beds to sleep in and enjoyed the camping like experience. We played scrabble in the evenings in the kitchen and she had lots of fun doing lots of handstands on the grass out the front of the huts! We then had a lovely walk along the foot path just down the road. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something wholesome.

Amazing stay at the Railway Cabin - super peaceful and quiet. Perfect weekend getaway for some space. The cabin itself was spotless, and had everything needed. Will definitely look to stay again in the future.

Absolutely gorgeous little Shepherds Hut, exactly as described in the listing. It was spotlessly clean and the food basket, Prosecco and milk were all really lovely touches. I would wholeheartedly recommend! Thanks for a fabulous stay.

A very beautiful place to stay, the hut was lovely well maintained. Comfortable bed and very clean. It was my partners birthday and Sophie put some balloons in the hut lovely touch.

What an absolute gem, if dogs could book holidays this is what they would choose I Wanted somewhere suitable for dogs which was peaceful and would give me the opportunity to just relax for a while. So happy we found this idyllic little hut with its own dog friendly paddock Surrounded by beautiful and accessible countryside We had everything we needed, relaxing days walking, a glass of wine and reading and the most peaceful night sleep. The hosts were so responsive and friendly and the instructions were all super clear and there was everything you could think of provided. We will be back soon.

Philips place was everything as described, it was beautifully fitted out and surrounded by glorious countryside, so clean it looked like new and Philip was a great host.

Amazing place, lovely location and relaxing atmosphere. All amenities inside the shepherds hut and decorated really nice and clean 👌. We enjoyed our stay and had some lovely walks along the canal. We wished we had booked an extra day! Great host.

We had such a lovely stay, the area was so cute and well laid out. Bed was comfy and it was very cozy in general. The views were stunning! Lots of nature and very tranquil. Really well stocked with equipment we required. All round, a fabulous find. Only issue was the hot water running out a bit quick. Otherwise, I would recommend for anyone who wants a peaceful get-away :)

Lush little cabin, nice and secure if you have a dog. Very cosy and comfortable.

Tamsin was a brilliant host. Very informative and friendly, very quick at responding! The Hut itself was perfect for a romantic getaway. Very easy to find with great instructions. The hot tub was a really nice touch. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you Tamsin x

Toni was a great host, went out of her way to go the extra mile including offering to drive us into town! The place was extremely peaceful, set in wilded grassland and woods, close to her home but you wouldn’t know you weren’t alone. A little slice of peace.

WOW! What an unbelievable discovery! Upon arrival, I was greeted by my gracious host, Mark, who invited me in a led me to my (much to my surprise!) private Shepards hut. The hut itself had everything that anyone could ever want, fully kitted out with everything you need, it was easy to make myself at home. Being told I could ramble round the space in front of me, I seized this opportunity to stroll round the land, filled with sheep, talked to the goats and horses and watched the gorgeous fox cubs rolling around the hills. When it came to turning in for the night and the following morning, I can honestly say the bed was one of the comfiest stays I have ever had! As a host, Mark was available for every question and query I had. I am so incredibly thankful for this opportunity to enjoy the place they call home and if I have the chance to come up here again, there’s no where else ide book. Thank you, once again for a memorable, perfect, impromptu stay. Jack

What a beautiful little place if you are looking for some peace, quiet and privacy. Set in the loveliest location by the lake the hut was welcoming, cosy, clean and well set up for everything you’d need for your stay. Katy was a great host; super quick to respond, left very clear instructions on how to find and access the hut and although we didn’t need anything once we’d checked in I have no doubts Katy would have helped straight away if we had. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend if you’re looking for a break away from it all - absolute perfection.
