Saddleview Farm, Galway

Hi I'm Kieran and I welcome you to our beautiful farm in rural Galway, where you can relax and unwind in peaceful surroundings and get to know some of our animals. Get to meet our world renowned cutest and friendliest sheep in the world the Valais Blacknose, our KuneKune pigs, donkeys, horses, cats and dogs, while staying in your own self contained farm annexe. Both rooms beautifully decorated and complete with ensuite shower rooms and full kitchen. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Positioned just a stone throw from Roscommon Castle and just a 5 minute walk into vibrant town centre. It is also less than a 5 minute drive to the train station. Our quaint retreat is also right beside the Omniplex cinema. Please notice, it's a tiny house! It has everything you need for a comfortable stay for 2 adults. This is a 100+ year old original Irish cottage that can accommodate six people, perched on a hilltop in a peaceful & idyllic location. With 360 degree views of the Irish countryside, you will stay in an area that is teaming with wildlife. It is where our grandparents grew up & has been extensively & lovingly renovated & extended by our parents to contain all the modern comforts while retaining many of the original cottage features & outbuildings.

The Retreat

Our retreat at the log cabin is the ideal setting for someone who wants to escape and find peace and quiet to read, meditate, cycle or walk. We are centrally located being only 45mins from Galway city and Athlone town and closer again to the heritage towns of Tuam and Roscommon. We are a small holding with a polytunnel, hens and bees. We aspire to live an organic life as much as possible, growing and saving our own vegetables and fruit.

Guests will enjoy the well-planned kitchen/dining/living area. Outside the cottage, the gardens are mature and well maintained. Two friendly dogs roam freely on the site. To the rear, guests will enjoy a small orchard area. Kiltullagh lake is visible from the front of the property. Garden seating is available to watch the sun set over the lake.
