If you have a moment, climb the 199 steps of the church of Saint Michel Mont Mercure, the highest point in the Vendée, at an altitude of 290 m, to admire the beautiful panoramic view of the Vendée bocage. Legend has it that this place, called "La métairie des dames", was part of the agricultural estate of the Château de la Roussière, located in Saint-Maixent de Beugné less than a kilometer away.
