The Barn @ Dale End House, Gratton nr Bakewell

RichardRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We chose Dale End Barn for our short break for three couples who were good friends from our days as teachers together. The location was near to Bakewell but the location was in an utterly peaceful location. Having four double en suite rooms was our major choice in selecting Dale End Barn, along with ample parking and a range of places to eat in nearby towns and villages. The accommodation was spotless and the beds were super comfortable. Access was down a series of narrow roads but once the place was saved in our Satnavs, returning was easy! Like other counties, Derbyshire has a pothole problem - but we chose routes which reduced the problem. The farm has a pot bellied pig (Blossom!) and a peacock (Percy) plus chickens, ducks etc which entertained us at breakfast times and we watched them from the lounge/dining room. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Dale End Barn and loved the local scenery. Haddon Hall ( an absolute gem!) and we walked the Monsal Trail from Hassop to Monsal Head.

3 bed, 2 bath with off road parking for 2 cars

RupertRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Barn. The host, Sharon, gave us a warm welcome and a warm farewell, and even baked a delicious lemon cake for us. The cottage is lovely, and had everything we needed as visitors. The décor was very tasteful, and we felt really comfortable during our stay. All of the bedrooms were lovely, but the upstairs bedroom and bathroom were fit for a king! We’d certainly recommend this cottage to other guests, as it’s in a quiet location but there’s so much around to do. Give it a try!

Fernyford Barn in the Peak District

RebeccaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Fernyford Barn is the perfect base for a holiday in the Peak District. There are so many things to do and places to visit just a short drive away. The barn is very comfortable, nicely decorated and perfect for families. We loved stocking up on food from the local shops and meat from the farm itself and cooking in the well-equipped kitchen. Neil and his family were friendly and welcoming hosts and our little ones loved meeting the sheep and exploring the farm. We’d love to return.

Crofter's Barn - Central Wirksworth

KellyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Me and my friends had a lovely stay here for a long weekend. Its a little tricky to find initially but Nicola gave us clear instructions and check in was super easy - and we got in an hour early! The place itself was just as described and was a perfect size for 3 friends staying. Very clean and tidy and in a very good location. There is a very steep hill up to the place but only takes a few minues to walk up and everything is within walking distance. We drove from here to hikes and walks and everything was within 40 mins drive from where we was. Nicola also was very friendly and has a very cute friendly dog that came out to visit us! Would highly reccoemend to anyone looking for a little get away to the Peak Distrcit. Thank you Nicola!

Lizzie’s place was perfect for our family of four. It was quiet and peaceful, very clean and had all the amenities we needed, including to cook some meals. It is well located to explore the Peak District and nearby towns. There are also some nice walks from the property and lots of great places to eat nearby (e.g. Elephant & Peackock and Spotted Cow). Thank you to Lizzie for being a great host!

This is a beautiful, cosy little cottage in a perfect, peaceful location. The cottage is perfect for two (and a dog!) and has everything you could need for your stay. There are so many walks from your doorstep and maps have been provided for excellent local walks. Annette is a brilliant host, going above and beyond during our stay. She is full of information about the area, both before and during our visit, with plenty of recommendations for good places to eat and visit. We visited two of the pubs she recommended and they were fantastic, and dog friendly! (The Black Lion & The Lazy Trout). We absolutely loved our stay and would love to go back soon.

Goatfell Barn

I had a lovely stay very comfortable and clean. I was in the area for work and it was lovely to relax. My first night it rained but the second evening was sunny and sitting in the garden was just wonderful, the area with table overlooking the meadow and the bench by the pond. If I am in the area again for work will definitely rebook.

Netherhurst Barn, a truly beautiful location

RebeccaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Stunning property, beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and linen. Stylish decor and had everything we needed for our short stay. Very well located for places in the peaks and some lovely walks right from the doorstep. The garden was the highlight though as it was stunning and had the softest grass I’ve ever walked on! Such a beautiful spot… the only slight niggle, which was not a huge deal but coming from a town we were hoping to enjoy the garden in complete quiet but there is a bunkhouse to the side of the garden where a group of walkers were staying. We could hear them most of evening, which intruded on the silence but like I said this wasn’t a huge deal and more a personal thing as I would have liked complete silence. Overall a lovely place.

Cosy rural hideaway

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Absolute Gem – A Perfect Stay at Swallow Barn! I honestly can't recommend Swallow Barn highly enough – it was everything I hoped for and so much more. Tucked away in the stunning Peak District, it was the perfect escape for both me and my golden retriever. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Chris and Pru are exceptional hosts. They are the loveliest people – warm, welcoming, incredibly helpful, and wonderfully flexible. They had even left the most thoughtful treats for both me and my dog, which was such a heartwarming touch and made us feel instantly at home. The barn itself is cosy, comfy, and beautifully furnished, with a lovely bed. It’s the kind of place that instantly puts you at ease – peaceful, warm, and perfectly equipped for a relaxing stay. For my dog, it was an absolute paradise – there's a field right outside where he could run, play, and stretch his legs to his heart’s content. It’s incredibly dog-friendly. The location is just breathtaking
