Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Derbyshire Dales District

We have just returned from a week in Dalemore Cottage and could not have wished for more. The cottage itself is set in the most glorious location and the inside is just as good. Comfy bed, well equipped kitchen and beautifully furnished. Pru and Chris were the most welcoming of hosts and Pru’s home cooked meal service was excellent, I even asked for some of the recipes. If you are looking for a quiet spot, in a fabulous location with excellent hosts this is the place for you.

We had a lovely weekend break at this cottage. It is beautifully renovated and spacious. Parking was great and the garden was lovely and enclosed for pets. The home made lemon drizzle cake on arrival was such a warm welcome. It’s situated in a very pretty village with easy access to walks straight from the cottage and some lovely pubs. I would highly recommend it and as there is so much more to explore we will definitely be returning to this cottage. It’s the perfect location for so much the Peak District has to offer.

The cottage was beautifully and tastefully decorated and equipped with modern kitchenware and thoughtful touches. Lucy was very flexible regarding our early arrival time and talked us through our concerns about the hilly nature of the walk down to the river. Our neighbours and everyone in the village was friendly with tea rooms and pubs and shops all within walking distance. The 10 minute drive to Bakewell and larger supermarkets was easy. Parking was not always easy but we usually found a space and if not, found the Car Park available about 5 mins walk away for a suggested contribution. June 21-28 was Well Dressing week - same time of year every year - and we wish we had been aware of this when we booked. We loved our trips to nearby Eyam, Edale, Haddon Hall, Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

What a lovely cottage! The views were spectacular! My daughters and I took many pictures of the countryside and of the adorable sheep grazing nearby. The cottage was perfect for resting up and refreshing between our trips to the Chatsworth House and Gardens. Great cottage in a wonderful location, handy for Chatsworth, Bakewell etc Clear instructions and good communications. The main bedroom was lovely, it is very large and has a wardrobe and drawers. Everything was perfect for us.

What an adorable cottage right in the heart of Castleton! An excellent hiking trail right from the door - Mam Tor/Cavedale loop. The cottage was charming and had all the right amenities. The bakery across the street was fantastic! Cafe right next door for coffee/tea! The scenery was breathtaking and the drive up Winnats Pass was memorable! A definite A+ place! Marianne was responsive and very friendly!

We had an amazing time at this Airbnb! The place was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The host was friendly, responsive, and made us feel very welcome. The location was perfect—quiet and convenient, close to everything we wanted to see and do. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay!

Really peaceful and comfortable stay. Check-in was really easy. Felt really private and relaxing. Good value. Will be back the next time I’m on tour in the area :)

We were visiting Buxton for 2 shows at the Opera House & the apartment is perfectly placed for this, being just a few minutes walk away, also the Pavilion Gardens and loads of places to eat & drink. Apartment is beautifully furnished and very well-equipped with pretty, sunny little cottage-style garden to front. The main bedroom is lovely, really comfortable bed. Our friend stayed in the basement bedroom and did comment that it was cold BUT he was very warm and comfortable once in bed. Wish we had stayed longer, if only to take advantage of the huge selection of dvds and books 😊. Thankyou, Heather, Kim and Lorna for a really great (too short) stay.

Had a great time , my son and I were fishing the River Wye , and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My only caveat is the parking problem . As we were out all day we had to find a space each evening.

We loved our stay at Gina’s and hope to come back sometime soon. Hebden Bridge is a friendly, charming village - so lovely - and Gina’s place above her fused glass studio is so pretty and filled with light and pops of color. We could walk all over, including in a nearby park and along the river. Thank you, Gina!

Had an amazing time at Holmdene in the Peak District. was perfectly located for all the walking and trips/tours we wanted to do in Castleton. Charlotte & Stuart were wonderful hosts who greeted us warmly on arrival and Charlotte gave us a detailed chat on all the walks we could do tho we didn't get to experience all of them in our short stay due to weather. We had a lovely evening in the pod with friends and we felt very at home in the apartment which was spotless and well equipped for all our needs and we would highly recommend Holmdene to anyone looking to stay in Castleton. we will definitely be back for more visits. Would highly recommend to others. We had a lovely stay and was even nicer than we expected. Will definitely book again if we need accommodation in the area.

We stayed here for a weekend away as a group of school mates all turning 30. The property was the perfect base for us, providing us with the best possible experience. We’re an active, activity based bunch and this stay had something for everyone. Multiple activities, from the pool table, darts board, table tennis, air hockey, and yes the Pool and Sauna. Many of my friends couldn’t believe just what we had found for this stay. Private use of the pool is a great bonus. All beds were made, fresh linens and towels provided. We used the kitchen to cook our breakfast each morning. There’s ample parking for 3-4 vehicles inside and plenty on street right next to the property, which is a quiet street so not a stress. Whilst the decor is aged, we are not particular on this and found it added to the charm. Plenty of beds, bathrooms and spots to relax. We would stay again! The host was fantastic in communication and response to questions posed and made the whole process easy.

Great place to stay- spacious, off road parking, great location and all the amenities of a home. David was great - all the communication was quick and easy. We’ll be back.
