Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, its Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. Ideal base for exploring Edinburgh (20 minutes away by train) or visiting the beautiful Kingdom of Fife (Aberdour, Anstruther, St Andrews). The property has a private back garden in the shadow of the Forth Rail Bridge (now a UNESCO world heritage monument), and is situated down a quaint cobbled lane that is closed to traffic. My place is a spacious one bedroom flat on the ground floor, in a coastal town just under 40’ minutes from Edinburgh city centre by train or 45 minutes by bus. Ideal for those who enjoy walking coastal routes as the town has breathtaking views of the forth bridges. The town also has many restaurants, pubs, take away shops and supermarkets. My flat is ideal for those with a car exploring Scotland outside of the capital city or for those who like to mix the city life with the quiet countryside.

Mary Queen of Scot's chamber at Neidpath Castle is perhaps the most romantic place to stay in the Scottish Borders. Explore privately the whole castle and then retire to enjoy your suite rooms. The antique four poster bed, deep roll top bath and open fire evoke earlier times, but are truly comfortable and luxurious. An elegant table is set for breakfast. Peebles is 10 minutes walk away, with a host of shops and restaurants, as well as a museum and award winning chocolatier.

Deep Sea World, The Wee Restaurant fine dining, Rankin's Cafe and the small Lighthouse Museum only a short walk away and there is a small shop near the station.
