Kid-friendly vacation rentals in County Galway

We loved staying at Ocean Crest - the property was beautiful! Ocean and sunset views from the living area. A short and picturesque walk to the village, but far enough away that it was quiet and peaceful even during the busy Folk Festival. It was a serene retreat and we would love to come back someday!

We were more than satisfied with the accommodation. We were greeted by horses and the extremely sweet little dog Minnie, and then by delicious scones in the apartment. The area is beautiful and we went on several day trips to Connemara National Park, Burren National Park, the Aran Islands/Cliffs of Moher and Galway. What's more, the area was just perfect for us and the children. My daughters loved feeding the horses and playing with Minnie the dog. Or, if it rains a little, there is additional room for playing, which is equipped with some toys, table tennis, etc. Maura responded quickly to minor problems and helped us out, and was generally very accommodating. If we ever visit Ireland again, we will definitely stop by here again.

We had an amazing stay in this country side home with our infant. Everything was clean, as described, with clear instructions and timely responses from Tommy for any other questions we had. Not only is the home beautiful and updated, but what beautiful surroundings! Encourage you to feed the donkeys carrots and to try the cheese factory tour and tasting ! Tip for driving from the farmhouse: google maps sends you on the right for a "shortcut" but if you aren't used to tight irish roads, simply use the left passing by Duniry and Loughrea, its easier and the same time in the end :)

What a beautiful home, and it truly felt like home. The views are absolutely stunning—imagine seeing a 3,000 year old stone fort while washing dishes and the ever changing colored sea right out the front windows. Bernie is the perfect host and her communication is instant. We hope to return!

Justin and Veronica’s place was absolutely perfect for our trip to Spiddal. The roundhouse was a joy to stay in—cozy and warm thanks to the bio burner, with beautiful views of the garden, trees, and birds. The main bed was very comfortable, and even the pull-out beds were great! Everything we needed was provided, and we knew that if anything had come up, our lovely hosts would’ve been happy to help. The float tank and sauna were the cherry on top—so relaxing—and Veronica was very accommodating with timing. Justin and Veronica were respectful of our privacy, which made the space feel peaceful and homely, yet they were always helpful when needed. I really enjoyed chatting with them—such kind, welcoming people. The area is full of beautiful walks, beaches, and all the amenities you might need. The roundhouse is just a short stroll from the village. A perfect base for exploring—we’d gladly return and highly recommend it!

Had a fantastic stay here. The cottage and the area were absolutely lovely and J was so helpful when we’re checking in- he recommended some wonderful hikes and places to eat!

We had a lovely stay at Robert and Susan’s. They couldn’t have been kinder or more welcoming. The chalet is lovely, well equipped, spotless bathroom, outdoor space which has been made lovely to sit in. Perfect! Would highly recommend. Cong is a lovely village with incredible scenery and sights within a short walk.

Such a perfect location and lovely spot to enjoy Galway. On the quieter side of the river yet so close to a vibrant local neighborhood with excellent bars and restaurants. You can walk anywhere, and also easy to park if you have a car. The kitchen is great and the entire place has an excellent layout with everything you’d need. Rory and Ursula are superb hosts! We loved our stay.

Great value for an amazing spacious flat close to the heart of the city centre. Perfect for showing my friend around Galway for the first time! Will recommend and be back for another visit!

Mary was a very welcoming host- she was responsive, friendly and easy to communicate with, and left a wonderful welcome pack - including her delicious homemade granola. Mary was also very welcoming to our son and his wife who managed to fit in staying with us during part of our week's stay (they slept on a futon). They loved the place too! The flat is just outside Kinvara which is a lovely village, where, on Mary's recommendation, we listened to live trad Irish music and ate pizza one night. It's a great place from which to explore the burren (don't miss the lovely Russell Gallery and the nearby Flaggy Shore!). Thank you Mary!

I had a wonderful time at Joan’s place in Galway—clean, safe location steps from the Latin Quarter with all its restaurants, pubs and shops. The apartment also is very close to a grocery store, as well as anything else you’d need! Joan was the perfect host—responsive, helpful, she went out of her way to assist. Checking in to find juice, fresh bread, cheese, hummus, sparkling water, crackers, grapes—an amazing welcome! She dropped off an umbrella for me and left it with a delicious scone! So thoughtful!!!!!!!Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend her place to others. I loved Galway—great home base to explore the western side of Ireland. Tours of Cliffs of Moher, Kylemore Abbey, and a great private tour of Connemara with Galway Girl Tours—find Sylvia on FB. For a first and solo trip to Ireland I couldn’t have asked for a better location or Airbnb! Don’t miss the trad music at the pubs every evening! Thank you Joan!

Mary and Paddy were amazing hosts. Being on their ranch was so much fun. The view of the lake is incredible. They both were very helpful. I would highly recommend staying at their place. We loved it.

Olivia sent us pictures of the house the day before arrival and detailed explanations of how to find the house, where the key box is and so on. When we arrived, we were totally thrilled with the apartment from the first moment, it was furnished exactly as described. Very nice, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom happened to be exactly like our home decorating style. This immediately gave us a "feeling of home." The apartment was above average well equipped. There were several varieties of tea, shower gels, shampoo, conditioner - hand soap from Rituals, there were adapter plugs & hairspray, in addition a nice cozy wool blanket. We got to know Olivia personally on the day of departure and had a very pleasant and pleasant conversation with her. We would recommend the apartment and Olivia as a landlady at any time. We really enjoyed our time there.

We had an amazing stay! The place was just as described; was very neat and clean and Gerard provided clear instructions for how things worked (shower, stove, etc). It had everything we needed for our week long stay. The location was perfect, right in the center of everything local that you could want to do and an easy walk to get on buses or trains to take longer trips / things to do. Gerard was such a great host! He had a straightforward and clear check-in process, provided some great recommendations for us, checked in just often enough to be sure we had what we needed, and was flexible on some check out options we might need. Would definitely recommend Gerard and this location. We'd book here again if we are ever needing to stay near Galway.

Marion was a lovely and attentive host. She gave us very clear instructions on how to find her place. She checked in on us throughout our stay to make sure we were doing ok. Her hideaway is very peaceful and situated in a great place for exploring the west coast of Ireland. We had a great time and would love to return!

Jackie’s place was lovely and spotlessly clean! We didn’t need to contact Jackie much because everything was very straightforward and informative! The position of the home couldn’t be better for the places we wanted to visit especially Galway! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jackie’s place to anyone. Thank you Jackie!

Seamus was a great host and was always super responsive. The Airbnb was clean, had good amenities and the instructions were easy to follow. Only thing was that the area lacked good restaurants, but nothing that couldn’t be solved by the Spar around the corner & the hobs provided. The beach is only a 5 minute drive away which was an added bonus.

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The location was perfect, and the home was incredibly charming and cozy—an ideal base for our short trip to Galway. We’d absolutely love to return, hopefully for a longer stay next time!

This was a beautiful apartment in the country to relax. We actually did a lot of sightseeing in the area. Very comfy bed and two toilets! Our host was gracious and thoughtful.

The Curlew Beag was just perfect. The accommodation was very comfortable and had everything that I needed. Seán was very helpful, yet unobtrusive. The location is stunning and the perfect hub for touring Connemara. Top notch!
